Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

For the rest of the day and the next 2 days, I ignored him. Having him for a lesson was just as bad as lunches were. He gave us a free period and sat watching me sadly from across the room as I tried to ignore him. Cassadee asked me for updates but on the 3rd day of ignoring him, I was as quiet as zack.


"what's up with you? If you're really that bothered about jack then stop ignoring him!" Cass poked me three times when she said "stop ignoring him" as if to emphasise her point.

"I'm not bothered..I've just not been sleeping that well"

"because of jack. You should just talk to him. He misses you, it's obvious"

"Cass..he treated me like I was nothing" I sighed. She shrugged.

"well..okay. Surely you should know that you're not even close to being nothing to him though" she said. I hummed a reply and crossed my arms on top of the desk, using them as a pillow, closing my eyes trying to get some sleep until the bell rang and I shot out of the classroom as quickly as possible, feeling jacks eyes following me.


The rest of my day dragged. I was too tired to concentrate on anything and nearly fell asleep on vic at lunch, despite his body shaking due to laughter. I didn't even care that jack was watching; right then, vics shoulder was the comfiest thing in the world and he smelt nice. He smelt different to jack but it was a nice smell and it wasn't TOO dissimilar to jacks scent.

"heeelloooo? Earth to Alex?" tay called from across the table, throwing a chip at me when I didn't react. Tay seemed to enjoy throwing chips at people.

"what?" I grumbled.

"aww is mr grumpy guts tired?" she mocked me.

"yes and mr grumpy guts would like to be left alone, thanks" I stood up and walked away from the table hearing tay go "what! I was joking!". I cursed myself for pushing them all away when it really wasn't their fault. I was a dick. No wonder jack was ignoring me that night (although I still refused to accept that it was something I'd done and I was still mad at him, whether I missed him or not).


I went to my usual spot at the teachers car park, sitting down against a wall and putting my headphones in. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the wall, really not caring if I missed my last lesson due to falling asleep.


Someone sat next to me and took my headphone out. I jumped and opened my eyes, fearing it to be jack, but it wasn't. It was vic.

"oh. Hey" I said as I turned my music down a little bit.

"you ok?"

"I guess. Just tired"

"bullshit, man. It's more than that"

"ok. fine. You got me"

"so..what's wrong?"

"lots. I'm mad at someone"

"who?"

"my boyfriend" I sighed.

"what did he do?"

"jacked me off then practically acted like he didn't even know me, then got pissed at me when I started ignoring him back because I was mad about it. I'm still ignoring him and I've not been sleeping properly and he keeps acting sad about it when really it's his fault because he said the only reason he was ignoring me was because he was stressed about work" I leaned my head on his shoulder again, preferring it to the wall.

"an older man. Nice! I'm jealous" he grinned. Vic was gay?! Woah. Didn't see that one coming.

"but wow, that really sucks. Why don't you just talk to him though? Are you too mad?" he added.

"mhmm..he basically said we should break up..I still can't believe he said that to me.."

"that's horrible! I'd never say that to you. You're too nice"

"yeah well" I shrugged.

"I must admit, you don't seem very angry about it"

"I'm mostly sad now"

"why?"

"he was my ride home" I joked. Vic laughed.

"no, I'm kidding. I just miss him but I'm still kinda mad. He treated me like I was nothing, y'know?"

"well...I can give you a lift home, if you want? You seem too tired to walk or get the bus. And maybe you need to just forget about him a little bit"

"mm..maybe.. And yeah, that'd be great, thanks"

"no problem. Anything for a friend, right?"
