Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

"j-jack?" I heard Alex say through the door to me a while later.

"what?" I asked bluntly.

"a-are you o-okay?" Alex sounded as if he was crying and I honestly didn't care one bit. Ok, well..maybe i cared a little.

"no. Not really"

"can I come in? Or are you going to yell at me again?"

"I'm too tired to yell at you any more" I sighed. My bedroom door opened slowly and Alex came in and sat next to me on my bed.

"I'm the worlds biggest dick and I am more sorry than you'll ever know" his eyes were red and puffy and mine probably looked just as bad.

"you're a fucking asshole." I said angrily.

"I am. I'm worse than that. Are you ok?"

"I need a hug" I told him. He nodded and pulled me into his lap, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my cheek.

"I'm sorry, lex" I began to cry really hard again, breaking down at the feel of his arms around me. Alex soothed me, rocking me gently and rubbing my arm comfortingly. He ignored my apology. After a while, my eyelids began to get heavy. Alex pulled my quilt up over me and pressed his lips to my forehead gently.

"it's okay, you go to sleep. We can talk in the morning, okay, baby?" he murmured. I nodded with a soft hum of agreement and let myself fall into the deepest sleep I'd had since my last phonecall with Alex. Despite the fact that he'd put me through hell on earth, letting me torture myself day after day, he was still my baby. It was then that I realised Alex had fragmented my heart and stole every single piece of it without me even noticing.

I woke up still in alexs arms. He was asleep with his arm wrapped tightly around me. I breathed in his smell, the smell that I'd clung on to so much in my time of desperation. I then wondered if he'd been cutting whilst we were apart. I pushed his sleeve back to look at his arm. He jolted awake and pulled his arm out of my grip.

"what are you doing?!"

"looking at your arms"

"why?"

"to see if you'd cut"

"oh. I did. Just before you get your hopes up" he said, closing his eyes and relaxing, letting me have a look.

"jack?"

"yeah?" I snuggled back down into his side and closed my eyes.

"I've got a question for you. I wanted to wait but..I saw what us being apart did to you so..will you be my boyfriend?" I opened my eyes and looked at him. He didn't seem to be joking.

"you're serious? With everything else that you're dealing with you want to add a relationship on top of that?!"

"yes"

"are you sure?" I asked warily. Alex leant over at an awkward angle and kissed me softly on the lips. It took me by surprise but I regained the control of my brain quickly. I kissed him back, soft at first but then harder. I bit his bottom lip gently making him whimper quietly. I pushed my tongue into his mouth and he immediately let me explore his mouth. I was aware I was probably his first kiss and it felt great. He wasn't even a bad kisser, he seemed to have a natural talent for it. I wondered how he would fare in more sexual deeds.

"so..will you?"
