Jack

The next day, I came to school happier than ever. No one gave me weird looks anymore, seeing as I've been coming in earlier and earlier every day. I walked through the halls, whistling and going straight for Alex's locker. I wasn't sure if he'd be here yet, but it didn't matter. I'd wait for him. I just wanted to see his face.

After yesterday, I started thinking about how Alex and I's relationship could grow from now on. I know it's going to be hard, seeing as Alex has a lot of adjusting to this kind of thinking, but I was willing to wait. Which was weird, I'm not a patient guy. Anyway, that's when I had the brilliant plan to do something I've never done before.

Ask Alex out on a date.

I spent all night asking Rian random questions on what to do on one. He gave me lots of suggestions, especially 'Alex friendly' ones. I finally decided that I was going to take him for a ride to visit the area more, seeing as he was kind of a shut in. I figured we could explore around, go to the piers, get food, and just hang out. I could be a loser and hold his hand, and smile at his face whenever he sees something he likes. Rian said that I should be careful on how fast I move, but I didn't need him to tell me that. I know how this works, even if I don't do it ofter. Well, I know how most of it works.
I got to Alex's locker, and no one was there yet so I decided to relax and lean against it waiting for him. Closing my eyes, I thought about last night, how when I had taken him home. We stopped down the street, like usual only Alex stuck around for a little bit after I parked ready to wait for him to get in safely. Instead, he had gotten off, turning to face me with a shy smile....

“You know, this is weird.” He stated, making me look at him questionably.
“What is?”
“This feeling, I never really... had a crush before.” He looked down, blushing.

Chuckling a bit, I used a finger to bring his head back up to face me and leaned down to kiss him on the cheek, pulling back to see him even redder than before. Foreheads touching, and eyes staring back at each other, I had mumbled.

“Funny.... I haven't either.

By the time my little reply had finished, I heard someone clear their throat. Opening my eyes, I found Alex standing there, smiling.

“Morning, Jack.”
“Morning, Princess.” I replied, pulling him into a hug before letting him get to his locker.
“How long have you been waiting for me?” He asked.
“What makes you think I was waiting just for you?” I snorted, trying to sound like a dick.
“You're at my locker.” Alex laughed, punching my arm now holding some of his books.
“Yeah, alright.” I rolled my eyes, starting to walk towards his class. Alex quickly followed my lead, so I began talking again. “So, Lex. Any plans today?”
“Umm, I have a paper in English, but it's not due till Friday.” He answered. “Why?”
“Cause you and me,” I started before leaning close to his ear and finishing quietly. “Are going on a date.”

Alex paused and started sputtering out nonsense and blushing making me chuckle and ruffle his hair, telling him not to worry. We were at is his class room, so I just pecked hi cheek and walked off saying I'd be back to walk him to his next class. For once, I was actually going to mine as well. I didn't want to spend the day being a lazy bum and smoking, plus, how would I know when it was time to come to Alex's first period?
The day went by great up until I was on my way to Music class, happy a can be seeing a I saw Alex multiple times today. However, I was barely there when someone bumped into me, stopping me in my path. I looked down to find Holly there, looking....mad.

“What are you doing?!” She yelled, annoyed.
“Um, going to class?” I asked, completely lost as to what her problem was.
“No, I mean with that... that random kid who just showed up like, a couple weeks ago.”
“You mean Alex?”
“Whatever, I don't give a shit what his name is. People are talking Jack, you come to school more now that he's here, and you're always around him and someone said you were holding hands!”
“I'm still not seeing the problem, Holly.” I glared down at her. “What I do and who I do it with is my business, not yours or anyone else's.”
“What, so you have a boyfriend now? What's so special about this dweeb? I've been trying for a year to get you to take me seriously.”
“Yeah, and I wasn't interested. Now, can I go to class?”
“What the hell is wrong with you!?” She groaned and I just stepped around her.
“Nothing, you're the one bitching that I don't like you even though you've known this for like...ever.”With that, I left Holly there seething and probably wishing my death a hundred or so times over. Oops. Then again, this reminded me that I have lots of...unfinished business to take care of. I wouldn't exactly call Alex my boyfriend yet, no one asked to make it official. However, I wanted to do this right, which meant dumping all my buddies and letting them know not to expect anything from me. I don't need more Hollys.
