Do it for me

I walked inside Rian’s garage, my hands shoved in my jacket pockets. It was just a gloomy, rainy day outside. I looked around, noticing no one in the garage, frowning. They even told me practice was at Rian’s today. I sighed and started walking outside, but heard a voice.

“They all went upstairs.” Alex muttered.

I looked over to see him laying on the couch by himself and frowned. “Then why are you down here?”

Alex shrugged and chuckled. “I’m not in the mood to hear everyone’s banter.”

I walked over to him and frowned, sitting on the arm of the couch. “What’s wrong, Gaskarth? You’re always happy with them.”

Alex shrugged. “I finally asked Caitlyn out, and she turned me down.”

I frowned. “But she likes you..”

He sighed and nodded. “Maybe it’s because while we were making out, I told her I loved her.” He muttered.

I looked over and frowned. “Lex…She probably loves you too. You just have to give her time.. I mean.. you two were never a healthy relationship.”

Alex sighed and nodded. “True.” He stood up and picked me up, putting me on his back. “Did you work things out with Jack and Zack yet?”

I shook my head as he started walking up the stairs. “Sadly, I have not.”

Alex shrugged. “They will get over it.” He held onto my legs and ran up the rest of the stairs, letting me down once we got to the kitchen where everyone was gathered.

I noticed some blank stares from Jack and Zack, and Rian gave me a tiny smile. Thank God he was happy to see me. No one else was. I looked over to see Caitlyn and Bethany and I waved to them.

Caitlyn smiled. “Hi beautiful!” She giggled and walked over to me, hugging me tightly. “Lex, you finally came upstairs.” Caitlyn gave a small laugh.

I looked at Alex and bit my lip softly.

Alex nodded. “I took a nap and Delilah woke me up.” He chuckled, lying.

I nodded and looked at everyone, sitting down at the kitchen table next to Rian. I was trying to make things less awkward. Zack and Jack were speaking to eachother, so they seemed fine.

Rian looked at me and smiled. “We didn’t feel like practicing today.” He chuckled.

I nodded and played with my fingers, hearing a voice say my name.

“Delilah, can we talk to you?” Jack asked quietly so no attention was brought on us.

I looked at the two of them and nodded, standing up. I bit my lip softly and walked back to the dining room with Jack and Zack.

Zack looked at me and sighed. “We both just want to be your friend.”

I nodded. “I wanted to tell you that, too. Maybe friends is the best thing for all of us.”

Jack nodded and smiled. “Friends is probably better.”

I bit my lip and smiled. “Friends.”

Jack gave me a small hug and walked back out to the kitchen.

“I’m sorry.” I said quietly to Zack.

Zack shook his head. “It’s my fault. I never should have kissed you.. Well.. All the times I kissed you.” He chuckled.

I laughed and nodded. “That’s okay.” I looked at him and shoved my hands back in my jacket pockets. “Let’s just forget about it.” I said and nodded, starting to walk back to the kitchen.

I felt Zack’s hand around my waist and he pulled me close, kissing my lips softly.

I was shocked and kissed back hesitantly, resting my hand on his chest.

Zack pulled away quickly and looked down at me. “Just a goodbye kiss.” He murmured and let go of my waist, walking back to the kitchen.

I watched him walk off and just stared at the doorway, wondering what in the world just happened. I bit my lip softly and walked back into the kitchen, sitting next to Rian again.

Rian must have noticed a look on my face because I felt him rub my back in comfort and smiled at me.

I looked down at my lap and then at everyone else who seemed content with everything. Even Alex and Caitlyn mended things. They were across the room, still laughing and smiling like always. But here I am, still confused.
