Do it for me

“Jack, wait!” I looked over at him and frowned.

Jack sighed, shaking his head. “We broke up. I get it.”

I looked down and frowned. ”It’s complicated.” I murmured.

He chuckled and shrugged. ”It’s whatever you want to do, okay.?” He looked at me and sighed. ”Zack, don’t expect a warm welcome at the lunch table now.” Jack shook his head and walked back to the lunch table.

I frowned and looked at Zack. ”We shouldn’t have done that.” I muttered and ran off.

I skipped the rest of the day at school. I didn’t want to face anyone. Zack, Jack, Caitlyn, Bethany, anybody. I curled into a ball on my bed, frowning as I listened to the music I had in my ears from my Ipod.

My mom walked in and frowned, pulling the headphones out of my ears. “Delilah.”

I sighed, looking up. ”What, mom? I’m not in the mood.”

She frowned. ”Your friend is here.”

I looked at her and bit my lip, sitting my Ipod on my night stand. ”What friend?”

My mom smiled. “Rian.”

I raised an eyebrow. Rian was never here to really talk to me before. “Okay.” I sighed.

My mom smiled and walked out, letting Rian come in.

I looked up at Rian who closed my door, sitting by the edge of my bed. ”Hey.” He smiled.

I bit my lip and looked at him. ”Hey. Why are you here?”

Rian shrugged. ”Just wanted to see if you were okay. I don’t talk to you much, but you’re still a friend.”

I smiled and bit my lip. ”I’m fine I guess.”

Rian sighed. ”Boys suck, Delilah.”

I laughed quietly. ”You don’t say?”

Rian plopped his body next to mine and sighed. ”From how I look at it, Jack wasn’t an awesome boyfriend to you. He’s never really good at dating people. And Zack found an opportunity to get you for himself, and he was not thinking of anyone else.”

I looked over at Rian and frowned. “So what do I do? I still want Jack to be a friend. And I want Zack as a friend, too.”

Rian sighed. “Well. You apologize to both of them. Break it easy to Zack and let him know you can’t be with him. It’s just right.” Rian sighed. ”Can I tell you something?”

I nodded. ”You’re already talking.” I laughed.

He nodded and looked at me. “Well, I say stay away from dating any of us. I mean, you see Alex and Caitlyn.” He chuckled. “He just uses her to get in her pants, but he really loves her. It’s his form of love, I guess. “ He chuckled.

I bit my lip and sighed. “So, I should just be everyone’s friend instead of losing them completely?”

Rian nodded and smiled. ”It shouldn’t be that hard. I know it’s hard not to fall in love with me, but it’s okay.” He winked and chuckled.

I shook my head. ”Idiot.” I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes. ”You should give me advice more.” I laughed quietly.

He smiled. ”Okay. Could you give me some advice real quick?”

I smiled and nodded.

“Well… do you talk to Bethany?”

I smiled, shrugging. “Not really. I talk to Caitlyn, which means I could talk to Bethany.”

Rian smiled. ”Could you find out if she has any interest in me?” He bit his lip.

I smiled and nodded. ”Of course. You two would make a cute couple. I’ll figure out for you.”

Rian smiled. ”Thanks.”

I looked at him. ”No. Thank you.” I kissed his cheek softly and sighed, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Rian seemed like he would be a good friend for me. Maybe I should listen to him. Maybe none of these boys were a good fit for me.
