Twenty-Four

We were nearing the end of the Spring Fever tour. It's been almost a year since Jack and I got engaged since Mina was going ot be born nine months after we were engaged. I would not change a single thing in my life right now. I am so happy to be a mom. I am so happy to be married to the little scrawny kid that talked to me even thought I couldn't understand a word he said and he obvious didn't understand me.
"Mina you need to try it sweetheart," I was trying to feed her peaches for the first time and instead she clamped her mouth shut, "Is it because it's mommy trying to get you to eat that you won't try it."
"Hey Mir we just finished sound check for our last show," Jack called as he got to the bus.
"Jack she won't eat her peaches," I whined.
"You have to eat it too. She won't eat if you won't. She's told me on our runs that it's rude to not share a meal with people," he gladly informed me when I had wasted twenty minutes trying to get her to eat.
"You to are bad together. Thick as thieves I swear," I took out a regular spoon from one of the drawers on the bus and I took a little bit of the peaches and they tasted so funny. I endured and put a smile on for her so she'd eat.
"If she catches on that you don't like them she'll refused to eat them," he teased. He was better at meal and play time than me and I was the one that spent the most time raising her. It was fustrating.
When I finally finished feed Mina her lunch I brushed my teeth to scrub the nasty peach taste from my mouth. I came back into the front lounge to find Jack passed out of the couch with Mina resting her six month old head against his chest. I brought Bonnie along on this tour since Alex's dogs, Sebastian (Baz) and Peyton, came too.
"Come on Bonnie let's go meet up with Alex and Baz in the parking lot," Bonnie wagged her tail in response and we got off the bus.
"Nap time I take it," Alex asked as he threw a tennis ball for Peyton and Baz to chase after.
"Both of them are out like light bulbs," I replied as I threw Bonnie's rope toy for her to fetch.
"Jack is a big baby so he and Mina are able to nap together," Alex was trying to make me feel better.
"I feel like she's more attached to Jack since he's a wolf and I'm not," I was having doubts about everything in my life.
"Mirela, Mina loves you very much. When we run, her thoughts are always concintrated on you. She's wished that you could hear her when we run. Trust me I'm the alpha and I look out for my pack," He looked me dead into my eyes, "That includes you Mir. You might not be a wolf but you are a part of this family."
"Thanks Alex. You always know what to say," I hugged him tightly. Alex was always a brother to me, ever since I met him back in junior high through Jack.

I went back to the bus after a coule hours of playing with Bonnie, Baz, and Peyton with Alex before I went to check up on Jack and Mina. That's when I found a little fluff ball on the couch and no Jack in sight.
"Jack this isn't funny," I picked up Mina and I carried her outside. I put her down and she took off, "Mina!"
"Mir what's going on," Alex asked as he watched Mina take off.
"Jack's not on the bus and my daughter went into the woods alone. Please help me get her back," Without another word Alex turned into a wolf and chased after Mina. I followed and I swear I was going to explain to Mina that she had to stay by the bus.
I got seperated from Alex in the forest. It was really dark under the cover of the trees, kaing it really hard for me to see.
"Mina! Jack! Alex! Where are you guys," I called, but I was only answered by my echos. I kept calling until I heard something faint. The sound of a wolf pup whimper, "Mina!"
I ran to the source of the whimper to find a wounded Jack tied to a tree. He was unconsious and barely breathing. I looked at Mina. She was so scared and worried. It pained me to see my six month seeing the image of her father as a broken man instead of her strong protector.
"Mina tell Alex where we are. Tell him Daddy is badly hurt and that I need him to get help to us," Mina nodded as she closed her eyes. I pulled my steel butterfly knife from my pocket and cut the binding off of Jack and I laid him on his back in the brush. I started to use my knife to pull bits of silver from his skin. But then I got shot with an arrow in my arm. I looked at the arrow in my arm. It was made of silver and it had the hunting tip on it.
"He was a fool Mirela to think he could protect you," I was furious. My father had the gall to attack my husband and scare my daughter.
"You are a monster," I screamed at him.
"You are the monster's daughter," he shot back.
"I am not your daughter. I refuse to claim relation to you," I ripped the arrow from my arm, the wound healing in an instant. I threw it with all my strength at him, but he caught it. That's when Alex came running in with the rest of the guys. I grabbed my knife from the ground, and I readied myself to kill him.
"You wouldn't want to kill me. You'd be hunted by the elders and your family would never be safe," he taunted.
"You are wrong brother," Uncle Cosmin had a knack for showing up at the right time.
"You dare go against me," he thought he was the elder and not my uncle.
"Dorin Radu Lupei you are hereby sentenced to execution for unnecessary treatment of the wolves and for the attempted murder of a member of the Lupei family," Uncle Cosmin had my father held down as he injected him with werewolf venom, killing him quietly and humanly.

Okay now he's gone. I had to. Now all that remains is the last chapter, Jack's recovery. Thank you again to my adoring public.
