Bring me home.

Ten.

I smiled and leaned my head on Alex as I sat squished between him and Laura in the back of the cab. The fostering had gone off without a hitch. Alex's lawyer had been working on the paper work with the agency all week and now, after scribbling all over various papers, our cute little family was dashing back to the airport in order to make it back to Indiana before the boys were due on stage. We practically fell out of the cab in our rush to catch the plane and Alex piggybacked Laura inside, both of them laughing like maniacs while I ran behind with Laura's case.
"You're idiots!" I yelled after them as they skidded to a halt next to the check in desk.
"M-Mr. Gaskarth." The hostess stuttered as she hurriedly typed something into her computer. Alex turned and flashed me a cheeky smile as he leaned against the counter, flirting up a storm with the poor girl, obviously star struck. Minutes later a security guard on a golf cart zoomed around the corner and beckoned us over. Alex slid coolly into the passenger seat as Laura and I jumped in the back, the hostess still gaping after Alex.
"This is awesome." Laura giggled as she held onto the carts frame for dear life. The security guard was screeching through the halls to get us to our gate on time. We were escorted straight through the gate, flashing our passports once and then shuffled straight onto the plane. Laura walked half Alex and I's speed as she took in the sheer size of the plane. She giggled as she plumped herself down on one of coach seats.
"No, honey, we're still going." Alex laughed as the Air Stewardess pulled back the curtain to reveal the first class lounge.
"Yeah, I still don't understand why we had to go first class." I rolled my eyes as I settled into my seat. "It's only an hour and forty-five minutes."
"Recliners!" Laura squealed as Alex pressed the button which would lay her chair down. We both giggled at her excitement and Alex slid into the seat next to mine as other passengers started to board.
"Let's just buy her a plane." Alex laughed as Laura fiddled with the controls. "It'd keep her entertained for hours."
"I think we just need to get her a chair. We can tie it to the top of the bus."
"Jack'd love it!" We giggled as the captain announced take off and Laura jumped at the noise and then broke down into fits of giggles at her stupidity.
Laura tried to look staunch but we could tell she was nervous as her hands gripped the arms of the chair so hard her knuckled turned white.
"Just breathe. Li." I smiled as the plane began to taxi along the run way. "It's perfectly safe. We'll be back on the ground in a heart beat." Alex reached over and grabbed her hand reassuringly and she closed her eyes before taking a deep breath. As soon as the plane leveled out Alex and I jumped form our seats and rushed to the window.
"It's a clear day, come here, Li." Alex waved her over. Laura carefully made her way across the plane and we wrapped our arms around her as we stared out the window, watching the land pass beneath us.
"Where's that?" Laura pointed to the ground.
"Still New York. It's a big state. We won't be out for another couple of minutes." Alex and I turned back to our seats, leaving Laura where she would remain for the remainder of the flight.

"Come on, it's like you've never seen an airport before!" Alex called back to where Laura was lingering in the stores.
"I haven't you retard!" She called back before running to catch up to us. "New York was a rather fleeting visit. Give me a break." I nudged her in the ribs before flinging an arm over her shoulders.
"You'll go on plenty of planes while you're with us, trust me." I laughed as two large figures zoomed through the arrivals lounge to where we were standing.
"LAURA!" Zack scooped her up in a hug, spinning her in circles.
"Well," I whispered to Alex, leaning my head on his shoulder. "At least we'll never struggle for a baby sitter." Jack squashed his head in between us, smooching Alex on the cheek.
"Fuck off if you think that's me."
"Oh god." I shook my head at him, turning to hug the giant. "I would never even dream of considering you as a babysitter."
Alex's 'instagram time' smile slowly spread across his face and he lifted his phone from his pocket, taking a photo of the four of us. Jacks arms draped over my shoulders, his chin on my head while Zack had Laura on his back.
'Just a samll portion of my brilliant family. Love my girls... and Zack.'
We jumped into the rental Zack and Jack had brought to pick us up and squished together, all of us excited to get back to the bus. There were three shows left, including tonight and then we would be home. We would be home, setting up fro Christmas, getting used to having someone rely on us for everything. This was going to be fun.

"Okay! Stage in ten minutes! Get your asses into gear!" Matt yelled down the bus. "Where the fuck is Jack?" I laughed at the familiar stress radiating off Matt. "Rie are you sorting out those side-stage kids?"
"Yes, darling." I sang as I pulled Laura from her bunk and dragged her along for the ride. "Welcome to tour." I smiled as we made our way off the bus.
"Are you Rie Roberts?" An older voice called from the shadows. A figure emerged form lening against the side of the venue and a forty-or so man smiled at Laura and I. I grabbed her hand, unsure of what to think of the meeting.
"Yes, I'm Rie." The statement ended up being phrased as more of a question.
"My daughter really loves your partners work. I was wondering if you could get me an autograph." Ah, a fan dad. Harmless. Thank fuck.
"Sorry honey, you'll have to catch them when they're doing a meet and greet for one of those. There's nothing I can do." I shrugged before pushing Laura towards the stage door which she happily ran to and made her way inside.
"Are you certain? You can't just pop in and get one?" His face darkened at my refusal to help.
"Sir, the best thing you can do is buy your daughter a meet and greet ticket for the next show we do in Indiana. I'm sorry." I smiled sweetly before excusing myself to get back to work and running in after Laura. That was odd. I made my way up the stairs with my clipboard and stood behind the barrier to let the side-stage kids up.
"Alright, one at a time. Name and ID." I waved the first kid over, but the look on that mans face when I denied him haunted me for the rest of the concert.

Hi, so I stumbled across your other story however many months ago and really enjoyed it. And now I've stumbled across this one and wanted to leave some feedback. :) I really like what you have of this story. Alex and Rie's relationship is so sweet. :)
I'm bummed to see this was never continued, though, especially after leaving off on such a cliffhanger. I just wanted to leave feedback letting you know I'll be here to read if you ever do choose to pick it up again. You're a really great writer and I would love to see how it all ends for Alex and Rie. :)
But yeah, I'll be here.
