Chapter Inspiration: See You Around - We Are The In Crowd


"I should probably be getting home" Alex grumbled from his position beside me on the bed. I was sprawled out on my stomach with my leg closest to him between his knees. I looked over at him, he looked so peaceful, his eyes calmly shut, his chest slowly rising and falling in sync with his hot breath. His hands stretched up and clasped together behind his head.

"Yeah you probably should" I sighed as he rubbed a soothing hand on my thigh.

"Yeah..." He sighed as I reached up brushed back the fly aways from his eyes.

"Thanks by the way" I hushed looking over at him.

"For what?" He smiled rolling onto his side to face me.

"For what you did today, or for me in general" I shrugged smiling lightly at him.

"Like I wouldn’t help you?" He sighed placing a palm to my spine.

"Well you didn't have to..." I pointed out.

"But I did..." He countered.

"And for that!" I poked his nose before pulling myself onto my knees, "I am thankful!"

"What else are you thankful for?" He laughed as I crawled off the bed and stumbled towards my closet.

"Uhmm..." I hummed rummaging through the hangers before pulling out an old hoodie of Rian's I swiped. "I'm thankful that I have a brother who grew so I could take his old hoodies!" I laughed slipping it over my head.

"Not good enough..." He smiled as I walked back over to his figure sprawled in the center of my bed, "what else?"

"I’m thankful to have a bed big enough for the both of us!" I swatted as he scooted over on the space.

"Tell me what else you’re thankful for" he smiled again as I crawled back into bed.

"Uhm, well not letting Jack suck my face seems like a good place to pick up the thanking of you!" I chuckled allowing myself to be wrapped in Alex's arms as he pulled me close.

"Please!" Alex scoffed with a light distressed laugh, "like I'd let just anyone suck face with my best friend!" He smiled giving me a squeeze.

"Well if I’m not good enough to make out with Jack then who is?" I questioned sarcastically as I bit back a smirk.

"Hush, you know Jack would easily slip past making out with you the second he realized 'what all the fuss was about'" he quoted Jack rolling his eyes with a smile.

"What happens when I get a real boyfriend?" I questioned fiddling with the strings of the hoodie.

"You don't..." Alex quipped looking down on me as I cocked a brow causing his eyes to roll, "Or he doesn’t get to kiss you." Alex replied with a stressed chuckle.

"Then who does get to kiss me?" I laughed dropping the strings to my chest and looking up at him.

"Me!" He laughed scooting his head back to look at my face fully, "and only me!"

"Well don't you think your something special?"

"Please I’m special!"

"Yeah special needs!" I quipped poking his nose as he tried to bite at my finger.

"Don't go there!" He smiled poking my side causing to convulse lightly at the sensation.

"Don't go where?" I laughed scooting closer to settle back against his chest again.

"There!" He poked my lips when I looked up at him, a blush forming on my cheeks as I ducked my head, "because I would GLADLY do it again!"

"ALEX!" I slapped his chest as my jaw popped.

"WHAT?" He smiled down on me, "I’m not gonna lie to you!"

"Maybe you should..." I rolled my eyes.

"What time is it?" He questioned pulling me into his chest as I looked over his shoulder at the florescent red digits of my clock.

"12:27" I answered looking back at him as he pouted.

"Can I just wrap you up and take you home, you’re like a heated blanket." He whined burying his nose into my neck.

"No you may not!" I rested my cheek to his head with a sigh, "as much as it pains me to shove you out the door, you told your parents you'd be home an hour ago..."

"I know, I know!" He groaned sitting up as he pulled away from me. My arms instantly moving to clutch my sore sides where his body had heated just moments before.

"You’re lucky your parents like Rian and me or you would never get away with this shit!" I laughed as he pushed himself off the bed.

"I know but I wanna give you one last thing before I get out of your hair!" He smiled.

"Alex..." I groaned sinking into my pillow.

"Just let me do this will you, it’s not a real gift so chill out."

I sat up and watched in wonder as Alex wandered over to his bag by my door and pulled out an old hoodie of his. He strolled over to me and laid it flat on the end of the bed. I looked up at him confused as my brow deepened when he pulled what appeared to be a sample sized bottle of his cologne from behind his back. "This," he said picking up one of the sleeves and spritzing the end, "is so that whenever you miss me, which should be all the time," he lifted the second sleeve and sprayed the end, "you can have something to remember me by." He smiled over at me before taking the collar of the hoodie near the strings and spraying the area, "and you can keep it when you get your new boyfriend, and think of me when he tries to kiss you!" Alex winked placing the hoodie into my lap. "Merry Christmas Jasey" he whispered placing an innocent kiss on my forehead.

"Merry Christmas Alex" I smiled as he walked to my door and collected the rest of his things.

"I'll see you Saturday at Jack's?" He questioned pointing to me in reference to a preplanned new year’s party at the Barakat home.

"Count on it!" I laughed and looked down at the hoddie as he nodded pulling the door open.

"Good" he smiled locking eyes with me one last time.

"Good" I repeated.
