The Wedding Planners (Alex POV)

Alex POV

Two weeks later, we had already set a date for the wedding and were fully into planning. It was going to be in a month but we needed to send out invitations, find a church (I had insisted on getting married in church too), plan decorations for everything, arrange the seating plan, write our vows, find suits, buy the rings etc. It was quite stressful sometimes but I enjoyed it for the most part.

We weren’t planning on making the ceremony in the church big with many invitees but the part with the official papers would be happening in the city hall with more people and a party afterwards.

At the moment, we were trying to choose a church. I wanted something small, tiny even and Jack had agreed. We had already visited some plain, boring churches in Baltimore, none of them being especially big or small, just boring. They were beautiful but it wasn’t what we were looking for. We were taking a break, sitting in a coffee shop, exhaustedly sipping our coffees.

Jack’s mum was with us as well as Rian. She stood up to take a call and I could see her talking excitedly, writing down something right after she had ended the call. She hurried back to us.

“My friend just called to say she knew a perfect, tiny chapel in the woods nearby. We could visit it today at any time since her nephew is the priest there. I got his phone number and we can go right now,” she said breathlessly. Jack looked at me and his face lit up; probably just like mine did.

“Let’s go then!” I decided. We left and got in the car. The drive was not too long, about 15 minutes. When we stepped out, we found ourselves on a meadow surrounded by the woods. It smelled of decomposing leaves but it was good. Snow was covering the grass and it looked like someone had gone and strewn powdery sugar over the landscape. We turned around to face the most perfect little chapel ever. It was very small, painted white with light-yellow stripes surrounding the windows and the door. Above the door was a mosaic of Holy Mary holding Jesus as a baby. The roof was dark-red and had a little tower on top for the bell.

We stood and looked at it in awe before entering it. It was very small in area with a beautiful altar in the back. There were five rows of banks on each side of the church. The priest was inside, greeting us with a smile. He was a young man with brown, short hair and blue eyes, not very tall and a bit corpulent.

“Good afternoon. I heard you were looking for a wedding location for the ceremony in church. My name’s Peter Sullivan.”

“Hello, my name is Jack Barakat and this is my partner Alex Gaskarth. We want to get married and your chapel seems perfect.”

“Isn’t it a bit small?” the priest asked.

“No absolutely not. For the ceremony here we would like to only include us two, our best mans and our parents and siblings. The big party will be when we sign the official papers in the city hall,” Jack replied.

Mr Sullivan nodded and asked some more questions about the plans for the wedding. We answered all and in the end agreed on the date we had wanted from the beginning. The price for the chapel was low as not many people got married here in winter, Mr Sullivan explained. We were very happy with everything and Mr Sullivan said we could decorate it in whichever way we would want it to look. We should just call before coming and decorating. In our case he wouldn’t make a rehearsal the day before because we could also do it right before the ceremony itself.
We left after all questions were answered. Jack hugged me after stepping out of the building and spun me around a few times.

“Lex, I’m so happy! This is perfect!” he exclaimed, pressing a kiss to my cheek. I laughed.

“Yes I know, Jacky! I’m looking forward to this so much!” I answered before pulling his hand to get him back in the car. What a successful day!

@NONAMETAGD
aaahh I really don't know? I get so bad with sequels, I still haven't finished Chased by the Future and also I'm really into Homeless right now.

I guess I can maybe make one chapter as a sequel and post it in here if I find the time to do so if more people want me to do it? :)
