I wish I could
The Coup (Alex POV)
I had 2 hours left before we would leave. There was something I wanted to achieve before leaving which was getting into the medication storage and snatching some nice painkillers and tranquilizers.
“Jacky? Would you please take me on a little stroll through the hospital?” I asked innocently, batting my eyelashes at him.
“Hm… I guess we can do that, I’ll get you a wheelchair!” he replied. He left and came back with a wheelchair. He helped me get in there and I played lame and slow on purpose although I could’ve moved way faster already so he wouldn’t suspect a thing later on.
We started our little walk, or should I say drive? He wheeled me around and when we came by a room that had a sign with “Medication Storage” on it, I made a mental note to myself. It was perfect, a vending machine was nearby.
“Jacky, I’m thirsty and I also want a muffin from the cafeteria…” I whined at him. My plan was to wait until he was gone buying me a drink and the muffin, quickly get into the storage, collect a sufficient amount of medication and then get out again.
“Aw Lexy, of course I’ll get you whatever you desire! What drink do you want?” he retorted; he was so sweet.
“I’d love a hot chocolate and a Gatorade,” I replied, making puppy eyes at him.
“You look so cute, how could I ever not give you something! I’ll just leave you here so I can carry all your things, okay?” he explained. I nodded. Very good. This was going well so far.
I waited until he was out of sight before I got up from the wheelchair and turned around to face the door. My heart started beating faster; this was risky and thrilling.
I opened the door carefully, checking that nobody was inside. When I had checked and seen that it was clear, I hurried to get inside as quiet as possible. I closed the door and turned around.
So many boxes of medication. Luckily, it was all very well organized so I easily found the “Sedatives” section. My friends.
I got two packets of the first pills I had ever tried, one packet of my current ones and three big bottles of something that seemed promising too. I watched out to always leave at least one unit of every medication type so it wouldn’t attract attention.
Time to leave. I stuffed my goods under my gown and left. I carefully opened the door and looked outside. Not a soul. I snuck outside again and was just about to turn around when I heard steps approaching. No time for the door.
I jumped into the wheelchair, lucky that nothing fell out. In that exact moment, Jack arrived. He was juggling a hot chocolate, a Gatorade and a muffin in his hands. I was lucky he was too occupied with the foodstuff to pay attention to the door that closed with a bang now.
“Hi Jack!” I greeted him cheerily. Maybe a bit too cheerily because he gave me a weird look but he greeted me back.
“Hey Lex, here’s the things you wanted!” he said, offering me the goodies. I smiled at him, still a bit out of breath.
“Thanks Jacky, you’re the best,” I replied. I was giddy with the adrenaline from my coup and I joked around with Jack.
He wheeled me back to my room and while he excused himself to the bathroom, I quickly stuffed my stolen goods into a bag. I was ready to go.

@NONAMETAGD
aaahh I really don't know? I get so bad with sequels, I still haven't finished Chased by the Future and also I'm really into Homeless right now.
I guess I can maybe make one chapter as a sequel and post it in here if I find the time to do so if more people want me to do it? :)
