Feeling This
I Got No Regrets Right Now
Lucky for Jack, his entire family had already left the building by the time he pushed open his front door. In their place was a simple note:
Jack,
We tried to wait for you to get home from school, but I suppose you went out with your friends. We'll be back before you know it. Have a fun, SAFE Summer! We'll be calling often.
Much Love,
-Mom.
When Jack read the letter, he inwardly smiled. His lanky body went flying up the stairs, where he packed a small bag of clothes. He knew he wouldn't need that many because he could walk home for more. Jack just assumed he'd be heading back home a lot, what with Alex's track record with the ladies. Yeah, there'd be nice when Alex didn't want him there.
Snickering to himself, Jack propped himself up in the living room window. He waited impatiently, squinting across the street. He was pumped up for the party tonight, and if the Gaskarth's didn't start moving faster, he feared he'd do something stupid to give him and Alex away. He started tapping his foot against the hardwood floor, checking his phone for the time. The guys would start rolling in soon- What the Hell was taking Peter and Isobel so long to leave?
When finally Jack thought they'd have to call the party off, he saw Alex step out on the front porch. He had a bag in his hand, and he was kissing his mother on the cheek. Jack smirked, his heart pounding in his chest as Alex's parents slid into their car and disappeared down the street. With all the energy pumping through his veins, Jack grabbed his bag and bolted from his house.
"I can't believe they bought it!" Jack cried happily, jumping the step to Alex's front porch. "My 'rents were already gone when I got home."
"Yeah, I saw that," Alex playfully rolled his eyes. "Better be glad mine went in the other direction."
"Wouldn't it totally suck if they didn't?"
Alex, despite his best efforts, found himself laughing at Jack as he led the way into his home. Jack tossed his bag by the door and through himself down on the couch. He kicked back and put his foot on the coffee table. It would be an understatement to say both of these guys were ready for a break.
"Beer?"
"Uh," Jack scratched the back of his head. "I forgot to pick up my date."
"No, dipshit," Alex laughed lightly, placing the ice cold beverage against Jack's neck. "I was offering you one. We all knew you'd forget."
The skunk-haired boy jumped, a smile spread across his face. Jack snatched the drink out of Alex's hands and batted his eyelashes. "Are you trying to get me drunk so you can do dirty things to me?"
"Come on now, Jack-O. You know I could do dirty things to you if you were sober."
"Shhh," Jack smiled, still batting his eyes. "You're not supposed to tell anyone!"
"I wasn't aware the walls counted as a person?"
Jack tilted his head to the side in thought. He was trying to come up with a witty comment to shoot back at his friend, before the words could even form in his head, Alex's front door flew open. Entering the room was Rian, Kara and Zack. They were each holding a case of beer.
"Call up the girls!" Zack threw his free arm in the air and sat his case down on the table. "Let's get this shit going!"
"Well, you heard the man," Jack popped the tab on his beer and took down a long chug. "Call up the ladies. I'm feelin' frisky tonight."
