Feeling This

The Air Is So Cold & Null

It was one in the morning and the night was still young. What started off as small get-together of friends had quickly become a house party. The speakers were thumping loudly, and there was a whole mess of bodies bumping and grinding in the Gaskarth living room. Some of the more intoxicated chicks were even stripping on the coffee table, plucking dollar bills from the other teens with their teeth.

The real life of the party was taking place in the kitchen. A group of kids had formed around the four bandmates, expanding from the kitchen table to the bar. Each of them had a beer in their hands, while one beer sat all alone in the center of the table. It only had about ten cards under the tab, but with so many people in on the game, it was bound to snap soon.

"Why did I let you talk me into Kings?" Jack poked his best friend in the side, a drunken grin on his face. "You know I suck at this game."

"You know it's still your turn," Alex smirked back, returning the poke.

All around them, kids were holding up their hands. Some had three fingers in the air, while some were down to one. Currently, they were on a Never Have I Ever round. Jack thought deeply about what he should say next, so that the pressure would be off of him and on to the next player. He grunted, sending a smile to the entire group.

"Never Have I Ever... Had sex with Alex!"

Groans left several pairs of lips. At least six females in the game put their last finger down, shooting glares to the cocky Alexander William, who simply sent them all a wink.

"That's not fair!" A girl whined from the counter. "Of course you haven't had sex with Alex, you're a dude!"

"So?" Alex snickered, shaking his head. "Jack is my dearest love."

"That is so gay," another girl giggled, twirling her fingers around her hair. "I don't mind putting my finger down for you, Alex."

"And I don't mind you calling me after the night I had with you."

A fit of laugher shot through the room. The girl who had made the comment put her head down, her face turning a deep shade of pink. A few of the guys at the table offered Alex a high-five before they left the room, running to tell everyone else at the party about the burn Alex just put on the loose blonde most of them had already been with. The girl, Alice Davis, didn't seem to take so kindly to Alex's remark. She sucked in sharply and put her hand on her hip.

"I didn't hear you complaining!"

Alex gulped down what was left in his can, and tossed it behind his shoulder. By now, the boy was feeling his alcohol. He had a crooked grin plastered on his face as he drunkenly put his hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Let me tell you somethin', Alice," he sighed heavily. "You were sweet at first, like, I thought maybe it'd take more than one date to get your pants off. But then, when I got them off," he stopped long enough to laugh. "I realized why it only took one date. Every other dude has been there before! I seriously went and got tested later that week."

"You pig!" Alice cried, her pink face now bright red. "You and I both know that's a lie, Alexander. You wanted this."

"I did," Alex nodded. "I got it, and I never went back. Ladies, a show of hands. How many of you got it more than once?"

Three hands shot in the air. All of the females smiled brightly in Alice's direction. For some sick reason, they were proud of themselves.

"You want me to show you what sleeping with you did to me?" Alex said through a fit of laughter. He gripped Jack's cheeks in his hands, and pulled the younger boy close to his face. Jack was too drunk to object, so he simply squeezed his eyes shut tight as Alex planted a more than sloppy kiss on his lips. It only lasted for a moment, and when Alex pulled away, he smiled as if nothing ever happened. "Bloody Hell, Alice, you turned me gay!"

Alice put her hand over her heart. Her mouth was ajar, it was obvious she wanted to say more, but she was so insulted by Alex's actions that she simply ran from the room. Everyone else sat in silence. Well, almost everyone. Zack and Rian were in a fit of giggles. They had seen Alex and Jack kiss before, but only for a dare. Doing it as a burn was more more delightful.

"Don't worry guys," Alex stood up, stumbling backwards a little. He ruffled Jack's hair before he began marching to the same group of chicks who had their hands in the air a moment ago. "I'm not gay. Lisa, I'd gladly like to personally prove that you in my bedroom. Right now."

Lisa nodded, keeping her head down. Alex's three bandmates knew that the two of them were more than friends, and almost more than fuck-buddies, but they weren't official. It was Lisa who wanted to appear to be casual with Alex, because if he did mess up and sleep with someone else, she didn't want that shame being brought back on her.

"Yo Jack," Zack ran a hand in front of Jack's face, flicking him once on the cheek. "You okay bro?"

"Yeah," Jack drunkenly smiled at his friend. His brown eyes were outlined in red. "I think I needa 'nother beer."

"What? Did little Jack-y get all excited over kissing Alex-Poo?"

"Shut up," Jack shook his head, giving Zack a small push. "You heard Alex, I'm his dearest love!"

"Sometimes," Rian slid a beer to his friend, a gentle smile on his face. That was just like Rian, to remain sober and sweet. "I think you and Alex really are more than friends."

"I'm not gay," Jack groaned, taking down half of his freshly opened beer. "Merrick is the only one here who likes it in the ass."

"Ya know, that's big talk coming from a guy who still has a pink face from kissing another dude."

"My face isn't pink," Jack defended, putting his hands to his cheeks. They were warm, but wasn't that just the alcohol taking a toll on his body? "Fuck you, Zack."

"Ooh, I offended him!" Zack laughed loudly, putting a comforting hand on Jack's shoulder. "Bro, chill. I was only kidding."

"Well, I'm not gay," Jack mumbled into his beer can. "I'm not."

Seriously. I could finish this entire story within the hour. So I think I'm going to go do something else with my time, and by that I mean, 90's music and a hairbrush. It's game on. ;]
