I awoke with a start.
"Where am I?" I asked in a panic.
"Woah chill out," Alex replied. "We're still at starbucks."
"How long was I out," I asked, quieter this time.
"Only about thirty minutes," Alex estimated with a shrug.
"While geez, didn't you get bored?" I questioned.
"Nah. I wrote songs on my phone," he said.
"Oh cool, you write music?" I excitedly inquired.
"I dabble," he shrugged.

This day could not get any more perfect. I had awoken sleeping with my head on Alex's chest. Then we talked and I learned that he was a songwriter. Now THAT was hot.

"So what do you wanna do now?" He asked.
"Well I got all of my homework done in the library, so I'm down for just about anything," I replied to him. I heard a ringing sound coming from his pocket.
"It's JoAnn, I've gotta take this call," he said somberly.

I sat sat and waited for about five minutes until he emerged back into the store.
"I hope you don't mind but Jo and I made some plans," he said awkwardly. I did mind, but would never tell him. I kept my feelings to myself.
"No it's cool," I replied with the fakest smile I could possibly muster.
"I can walk you back to your dorm, though," he said apologetically.

We both walked in silence until we reached my room.
"Listen, I'm really sorry and just don't think I'm replacing you." He finally said. I broke down and gave him the truth.
"It's fine. I get that you have to split your time with people. You can't be in two places at once," I replied to his apology.
"I'm glad you understand," he said with a smile.
I shut the door to see my roommate sitting on her bed and texting. We still hadn't spoke since the first day of school. Despite our hatred for each other, we lived well together. We went to bed at the same time and got up at the same time. That works out well.
