Me Without You

After the little hotel pow wow that we had Zack and I made our way to our room right down the hall. I was glad to be sharing a room with him because he was probably the only one that was not going to interrogate me about my relationship with Alex.

Zack opened our door and a pale beige room with a red rug and maroon drapes stood in front of me. Two beds nicely made awaited for me to make an imprint on them.

"I call the window bed!" Zack said dropping his bag and running to only flop himself on the bed, he sunk and mummered something I did not understand.

"Please clarify your statement" I asked Zack

"it's so soft" he said turning his head towards me and smiling so I could understand him clearly.

"Really now?" He nodded his head and closed his eyes as I jumped on top of zacks back and laid down on him.

"what was that for?" He giggled sliding me off his back so that I plopped down on the floor. He peered over the edge of the bed as I looked at the ceiling. He was awaiting an answer and I was about to give it to him but someone knocked on the door.

"I'll get it!" Zack said pushing me down on the bed as I had gotten off the floor to answer the knocker.

"Zack! That was ever so rude of you!" I joked allowing him to open the door.

"It's your filthy lover!" Zack yelled at me once he opened the door. I laughed pushing myself off the bed and skipped towards the door. There stood Alex staring at me.

"Hello lover, what do I owe this pleasure to?"

"hey can we talk?" Alex asked in a shakey voice as he leaned his body into the door frame.

"Yeah sure do you want to take a walk outside and talk?" My smile faded as he grabbed my hand and lead me down the hallway and down the stairs. I gave an apologetic wave to Zack before we disappeared.

Once we were outside Alex took my hand in his and we walked down the avenue. I tried to pull away but just held on tighter.

"Ashley can I tell you something?" Alex stopped turning to me , he played with my fingers before making eye contact with me.

"I think" he said exasperated, he rubbed the back of his neck and a blush crept on his face. "You think what?" I said a small smile was on my face as I cupped my hand on his chin and made him make eye contact with me.

"I think I'm in love with you" those words made my heart stop. Did he really love me? No he couldn't!

"No" I let go of his hand "it's to soon"

"Ashley listen to me. I love you and you need to know that! I can't stop thinking about how much time I lost with you and how much time we have left. I need you in my life. Please-" I held my hand up to stop him.

"No let me finish Ashley" he said, "no let me speak for once Alex" I shook my head and continued on. "Alex I love you too but I'm scared, scared as hell. I've been hurt before and let's be honest you have been on the other end of that hurt. I want to love you, I do but you can't hurt me again." I confessed

"I won't" he leaned down and kissed me. "So I guess the reason I called you out here is because I want you to be my girlfriend." His voice trailed off. I wanted Alex so badly but...

"remember how I said we need to take it slow?" I swayed back and forth on my heels.

"Yeah I do" Alex took my hands again and pulled me closer to him, "screw it" he breathed kissing me passionately.

"So um I guess we go back" I blushed as Alex and I were walking back to our hotel. Being his girlfriend felt amazing even if it has only been fifteen minutes

"but so you know I'm still rooming with Zack" I pointed my finger at Alex and he pouted, "but I want to spend all my time with you and only you" he was such a child

"stop your whining gaskarth and be a man" I joked making my voice harsh

"I am offended you think I am only a young boy" he played hurt as we entered the lobby.

"Only making observations!" I chimed

"take that back" he warned raising his eyebrows

"make me" I said leaning in and running away as fast as I could up the stairs. I heard him shout after me that I was going to get it but his voice soon faded as I found our door and started banging on it.

"Zack let me in he's after me!" I shouted as Alex came out of the stairs and spotted me. A smile played at his lips as he ran towards me. But before he could get to me Zack opened the door and I stuck my tongue out at Alex before slamming the door in his face.

"I'm guessing you two made up?" Zack asked giving me a curious look

"Zack give me my girlfriend back!" Alex said banging on the door and I had to hold back a laugh

"you two did make up I see" Zack winked at me opening the door letting Alex in.

"Are you okay? Did Zack harm you?" Alex asked me in a playful manner

"ew Zack get my filthy lover away from me!" I screeched as Zack picked Alex up and put him outside the door.

"ya heard man your lady wants you gone." He shrugged closing the door. "Now how about a movie?" Zack said laying down next to me and putting his hands behind his head.

"I'm game" I agreed and that's what we did for the rest of the night.
