A New Home

Max took a deep breath as they removed the bandage again and the doctor took a look at it. He nodded and shot her a smile.
"Well this looks good, so we can start fixing it immediately" he said.
"You can?" Max asked and felt hopeful.
"Yes, we’re just going to put some anesthesia here and then we’re ready to go" he said. Max smiled and felt such joy of finally getting rid of the scar.
"It will only be a minor scar in your face when I’m done with you, and that scar will not even be visible, if you don’t take a very close look" he said and chuckled a little over her happiness.
"How big will it be?" Max asked and bit her lip a little.
"Only about half an inch, a very thin line" he reassured her. She sighed a little in relief and smiled again. She was ready and wanted this done.
"You might feel this, but in a few minutes it will fade away and you’ll feel nothing" he said and picked up the small syringe, sticked her cheek and slowly pumped in the anesthesia. Max frowned a little over the small burning feeling but jsut as he had told her it soon faded and she didn’t feel anything.
"Do you feel this?" he asked and stuck her with a small needle. She shook her head and he smiled.
"Well then, let us begin this then" he said.

Two hours later Alex walked in to the room and he had a small bag with him. Max looked up and looked at him, still in her hotpants and hamburger t-shirt.
"Only two stitches?" Alex asked when he took a look at her cheek.
"There are more stitches, just somehow under the skin, which makes it look like there is nothing there. Then there’s two stitches holding everything together" she said and smiled.
"I brought you some clothes to change into" he said and smiled.
"I’m just gonna take a quick shower then" she said and nodded.

When she walked out from the shower in her bra and hotpants Alex looked a bit surprised. He was not prepared to see her so… “naked”. He handed her the small bag with clothes and couldn’t take his eyes off her, but she didn’t seem to be bothered.
"I took your black t-shirt, your black pants and I got you a new poncho kinda thing, I liked the patterns to be honest, and I got you a pair of new vans" he said and smiled. She put on the t-shirt and squeezed herself into the pants. Then she picked up the poncho wrap and smiled.
"Why did you like the patterns?" she asked.
"To be honest… It reminded me of a carpet, but I couldn’t let it go because there was something with it that I liked" he said and grinned.
"I like it though" she said and wrapped it around her shoulders. She saw her sunglasses and… a small box.
"What is this?" she asked and picked it up.
"I wanted to give you something else, but couldn’t think of something and then… then I found that, and thought it was pretty" he said. She opened the box and found a necklace inside. A long chain with a hamsa as a charm.
"Do you know what it means?" she asked, and looked at it. She put it around her neck and smiled, and Alex shook his head.
"This is a protection charm, that is said to bring its owner happiness, luck, health and good fortune" she said and Alex looked impressed.
"I guess there really was a meaning why I wanted you to have it then" he said. She laughed and put on her new Vans and stretched out her tired back.
"So what are we doing now?" she asked.
"We are going to our temporary apartment" Alex said with a smile.
"Temporary?" she asked and he took the bag again.
"Yeah, I want a house but it takes time to find the perfect house so I’ve got us a temporary apartment" he said and nodded.
"Okay" Max said and nodded herself.

Alex drove for about ten minutes until they came to an old apartment building. It looked really nice with the dark bricks and bright window frames.
"Just wait until you see the inside" he said with a smile. They walked over to an elevator and Alex pressed on the forth floor. Max was a bit excited about seeing this new place.
"So how did it go today by the way? Are you going to do the shoulders as well or not?" Alex asked just as the doors opened.
"They took a look and said they could do it, but it will take time because they will grow new skin instead of taking some from my leg or anything" she said and looked at him.
"Grow new skin? Wow, didn’t knew you could do that" Alex said and unlocked the door. Before Max a very big studio opened up. It had a very big brick wall and the in a very light brown, almost beige color. A bright carpet as floor and by the bright brick wall there was a big bed with gray sheets. A black fur rug was by the bed and by the big, big window there was two black comfy chairs.
"The kitchen is up there" Alex said and pointed up to a second floor, which wasn’t really a second floor bot a loft. Under the loft there was one really big couch in black and grey, a white coffee table and a big tv.
"It’s not much, but it will do for the time being" he said and nodded.
"I love it though" Max said and just stared.
"The bathroom is over there and I think you will love that even more” Alex said. Alex lead her through the apartment and opened up a door and Max just stared. She loved it. Everything about it was perfect.
"I really like the shower" Alex said.
"So do I" Max said with a laugh and stared at it. She liked the green nature feeling you got. Then she noticed the small bed in the corner.
"Is that a bed?" she asked and looked at Alex.
"It’s for relaxing, I was told" he said and shrugged. Max giggled and shook her head.
"I like it" she said and nodded.
"We don’t really have any food here yet, so I was thinking… Wanna go out and eat tonight?" he asked.

They ended up in a small restaurant a few blocks from the apartment. Alex told her about the last few days of the tour and that the fans really wanted to know what have happened.
"Why not just tell them?" Max asked.
"How? That my ex-girlfriend kidnapped my current one and tortured her because she still loves me?" he asked, and shook his head.
"Okay, maybe not" Max said and shook her head as well. She took a sip of her wine and rolled her shoulders.
"How are you feeling? After everything that happened?" Alex asked and looked at her.
"How should I feel? I try not to think about it" she said and sighed.
"Wanna talk about it?" he asked.
"Alex… i don’t think you want to talk about me getting tortured by your ex" Max said.
"No, not really" he sighed and shook his head.
"But I’m fine. It’s in the past" she said and put on a small smile. He looked at her and smiled as well.
"I will never, ever, let something like that happen again" he said.
"You better not" Max said and frowned, and Alex looked at her. A bit surprised. Then they both laughed.
"So what is happening now?" Max asked.
"We’re having about two weeks off and then we’re off for a few weeks in Asia" he said and shrugged.
"Asia? Sounds like fun" Max said.
"But before that I was wondering if you wanted to… well… go on some vacation? To get away for a while" he said and looked at her, a bit nervous. She looked at him and then she gave him a weak smile.
"I’m sorry Alex but…" she began.
"But what?" he asked and raised an eyebrow.
"I’m going back to London" she said.
