Oh Life
Twenty-seven.
Ashley POV:
The next day we had to get up early because we were spending Christmas with Alex's parents. No problem for me, but Alex wasn't a morning person. Never has been. When I finally got him out of the bed, I made him breakfast and coffee while he got dressed.
"Let's go." Alex mumbled and grabbed his car keys. I wasn't very enthusiastic about today's plans either. I liked Alex's parents, Isobel and Peter are always very kind, but I just rather spend the whole day in bed with Alex watching Christmas movies than to spend a whole day with his parents.
When we arrived at the Gaskarth house, Alex rang the doorbell. The greeting kinda went the same as usual. They were very happy to see us again and accused Alex of never visiting them. And then Alex would tell them that he's just really busy with touring and stuff, which wasn't a lie.
"And how is the baby?" Isobel suddenly asked, looking at me and my still flat belly. "Everything is great. 3 January I have my first doctor's appointment." I told her. "Well, isn't that exciting!" I smiled and nodded. We talked some more until it was time for lunch. I love Christmas, it's just eating, a whole day long.
Isobel had cooked delicious, as always. I remembered that when I ate dinner here as a kid, I always asked her to write down the recipe, so my mom could make it the same way.
After more eating and talking, we finally said goodbye and thanked them for everything. We also promised to visit again soon.
"Ugh, I have eaten enough for a whole week." I said in the car. Alex chuckled. "You have to eat for two." "Believe me when I say that I ate for three today." I answered. "Oh, are we having twins?" "Shut up." He parked the car in the driveway and kissed me first before getting out of the car.
Because we were both exhausted, we decided to go to bed immediately. I crawled under the sheets and Alex spooned me from behind. "So that was Christmas." "Yup." I sighed. "Next is New Years Eve. I was thinking about inviting everyone over at our place." he said. "Hm, that's okay." I was too tired to answer with more than 3 words. "Go to sleep, my love." he said softly and kissed my cheek. And so I did.
