Manage Me

You Do, You Don't

The next day I hung out with Kelsey, Mel, and the guys of Forever the Sickest Kids.

"Hey Brooke, where's your protector?" Caleb asked.

"I broke up with him. He cheated on me." I replied. Caleb gaped.

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve him." Caleb whispered, hugging me.

"Thanks, Caleb." I smiled weakly. Alex was signing things for people nearby me, but he was throwing me sad looks.

"God, he acts like he didn't do anything." Mel commented, disgusted.

"I know." I sighed. He came over after all the fans went away.

"So how's life without me?" he smirked.

"Just great. How's life without me?" I asked.

"I miss you." Alex whispered.

"Good for you." I snapped. Alex sighed and walked to do soundcheck. My phone rang then.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Brooke, come watch our set." Jack told me and hung up. I sighed and walked off.

"Where are you going?" Mel called after me.

"To watch All Time Low's set." I replied.

"I'll go with you in case he, you know, tries to pull something." Mel said and caught up with me. They did several songs, but what they did last surprised me.

"So y'all remember my girlfriend, Brooke? Yeah, we broke up. And I just want to say that I love you, Brooke. I really do." Alex said into his mike. I gaped.

"Did he seriously just do that?" Mel asked. I nodded. Their show ended, Alex grabbed a towel and a water bottle, jumped down, and walked to me.

"What did you think?" he asked.

"That was," I started softly, coming towards him, "the most embarrassing thing that I've ever seen!" I snapped, getting in his face.

"You really didn't like it?" he asked quietly.

"No." I snapped, walking off.

There was a party later on Forever the Sickest Kids' bus. Alex came up to me, a red cup in his hand.

"What do you want, asshole?" I asked.

"Come on, Brooke. Forgive me, please." he begged.

"No." I replied and went to be with Caleb.

"Hey Brooke!" Caleb smiled, putting an arm around me. I saw Alex glaring at us.

"Get me a drink. Anything strong." I told him and he was back with the drink within five minutes. I downed it and several other drinks. "Let's dance!" I smiled at Caleb a while later.

"Sure." he smiled and led me into the big area that served as a dance floor.

We didn't actually dance, we just grinded into each other. Soon, he was pulling me off and I wasn't resisting, until someone pulled me back in the other direction.

The person won and pulled me through the crowd outside the bus. I whipped around and saw that Alex was the one who dragged me away.

"What the fuck are you doing!" I screeched.

"Saving you from a big mistake." he replied.

"You know what? I already made a big mistake!" I yelled.

"Oh yeah? What was that?" he snapped.

"Loving you!" I screamed and stomped off, but he grabbed my arm.

"Wait, you honestly love me?" he asked.

"No, loved, as in, don't anymore! You know why? Because you can't stay with the same girl for more than two seconds!" I screamed and pushed him, but he grabbed me.

"Wait, I just saved your ass from being a fucking whore. I deserve a thank you!" he yelled in my face.

"No, you should be thanking me. Now you can go back to being a manwhore. No one gets hurt, right?" I spat, slapping him and walking off. I got back on the bus.

I saw Caleb making out with some girl. I walked away, crying. It seemed like I could never win.

I've been stumbling across stories I've read, and checking them out again since I seem to forget them after it's been a while. This was one of those cases.
Reading this again, and after reading other stories on here and Mibba, I've realized that with my last comment, I was a bit off. Yes, Brooke and Alex's relationship was cute when they were together/sweet to each other, but reading it again, their relationship was a bit abusive. Neither is completely innocent, but the version of Alex you wrote in this took it to the next level. I realize a lot of it was because of his insecurities, what he dealt with in the past, etc., but Brooke didn't deserve any of that. When she did mess up, she definitely didn't take her anger to the levels he did.
Idk, I'm conflicted because again, when they were together, it was cute, but then it just got sad when they weren't. I'm not sure why she put up with as much as she did.
Your writing is still good, though. Just wish they didn't have so many downs in their relationship. It got really sad at a lot of points, and I just felt Alex didn't need to take it to the degree he did, I mean really.
I doubt you saw my other comment, but just thought I would comment again as an update and to possibly get you to see it.
