I wanna feel weightless

*Zack’s POV*

To:Lizzy
I’ll be home later. I have to do something, I don’t know how long it will take. Don’t wait up.

I need to tell her how I feel but how am I supposed to do that when I couldn’t even ask her out? I don’t want her to leave, maybe we can put it off for a while, until she turns 18 and then she’ll be able to stay permanently. I walked into a corner store, I needed some Gatorade, stay hydrated right?

“Good evening sir, can I help you find anything?” I heard the little clerk man ask from behind then counter.

“I’m just in to get a Gatorade.”

“They’re in the back past the jewelry rack.”

I nodded my head as thanks and found my way to the Gatorade. I got my favorite, blue, obviously. Before I could find my way back to the counter, a necklace caught my eye. I saw it and immediately knew it would be perfect for Lizzy. It was a bronze skull with a floral type of design all over it. I placed it along side the Gatorade on the counter, paid and left quickly. I walked around a little more before I decided it was time to go home. I detoured a little and ended up at Rian’s house. It was about 6 so he should be home, all the guys left shortly after me, at least that’s what they texted me. Suddenly I felt really bad that Lizzy was home alone. I walked up to Rian’s house and knocked on the door. The door was opened shortly after but not by Rian.

“Hey Zack, what are you doing here?” came the cheery voice of Mrs. Dawson

“I just wanted to talk to Rian is all.”

“Okay hunny, well he went to run an errand for me but he should be back in about 20 minutes, you can go wait in his room if you’d like.”

“I appreciate the offer Mrs. Dawson but I left Lizzy at home by herself and I should probably be getting back soon.”

“Alright Zack, tell Elizabeth I said hi, she is feeling better isn’t she?”

“Yeah but now I’m feeling worse.”

I mentally slapped myself for blurting that out.

“Would you like to talk about it?”

“Actually Mrs. D that would be really nice.”

She led me inside to the kitchen. We sat and talked about everything, my love for Elizabeth, the fact that she’s moving, like I said, everything. Before I knew it Rian was walking in the door, with groceries in his hand. I quickly checked my phone for the time.

“Shit!” I breathed out

“Zack are you okay?” Rian asked

“Yeah it’s just that, I have to get home, its seven o’clock already.”

“Oh heavens how time flies. I’m sorry Zachary, Rian was supposed to be home earlier.”

“It’s okay Mrs. D I just want to get home to Lizzy.”

“I’m sure you do.” She chuckled out as she winked at me.

“Thanks Mrs. D. See you tomorrow Rian.”


*Elizabeth’s POV*

I woke up suddenly when I heard the front door open and shut. I checked the time and it was only 7:30pm. I heard Zack shout my name. Yeah right, he left suddenly without giving a reason, there’s no way I’m answering him. I settled back into bed and pretended to be asleep. I heard my bedroom door open, and a sigh of relief. My bed was shifted as Zack sat down. He stayed like this for a few minutes before he got up and came near my face; I could feel him getting closer. He was near my mouth and my heart started beating like crazy. He was so close to my lips but suddenly he went to my forehead, planted a kiss and walked away. I heard my bedroom door shut and opened my eyes. There was a small box with a note on top.

Elizabeth,
I’m sorry I ran out earlier without an explanation but I had some things to do. While I was out I found this and thought it would be perfect for you. I have to leave early in the morning because Rian and I need to be at school really early. I talked to my mom and she says she’ll take you.–Zack

I opened the box and found a beautiful skull necklace with a floral print on it. I loved it already but it made me feel worse. I’m a horrible person. How could I leave Zack? He’s so sweet. He really is my best friend but that’s why I know I have to go during school tomorrow. If I have to say goodbye I won’t ever leave, I won’t let me and the boys won’t let me. I’ll go to school, hug the boys one last time and then I’ll be gone. I cried myself back to sleep that night, thinking of my new life, in Texas.

Sorry I haven't updated lately. Finals are coming up, my baby cousin just came back home, my birthday "party" is today, and my birthday is Monday along with two tests *sigh* but I'm trying. love the feedback I've been getting thanks you guys
