Alex POV

We were all hanging out at the back of the house. Val and Beau were swimming in the pool while Liv and the other girls were sitting in the hot tub. Nothing was better than hanging out and having a beer with some friends, watching the sun set over a beautiful horizon. God, I sound so sappy.

“This is great man.” Matty smiled. “Just hanging out with some great friends and some women that we’re lucky enough to have. Can life get any better than this?”

“I don’t know man, you guys haven’t even experienced the miracle of a child yet. I feel like it can only go up for the two of you.” Kellin laughed and patted my shoulder. “Heck, you’ve gotta put a ring on her finger because she’s a keeper.”

“Tell me about it,” I couldn’t wipe the ridiculous smile off my face. “I’m surprised she even tolerates me at times.”

“No way, she really loves you.” Matty shook his head. “You can see it in her eyes.”

We looked over at the hot tub to watch our girls smiling and laughing, just having an overall good time. We truly were blessed to have them in our lives, I don’t know how I even lived without her in the first place.

“Come sit in the tub with me.” Liv made grabby hands.

“But I’ve got a beer in my hands.” I laughed.

“You can bring it with, please?” She begged.

“Alright, I guess I can make it work.” I joked and made my way over to the tub where she was sitting. I kicked my flip flops off and slid in next to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulders.

“So glad you could join us Gaskarth.” Brit laughed and playfully poked my side.

“I’m happy I could join the party.” I said.

“I’m coming in too.” Kellin cuddled up next to Kate in the tub.

“And I am as well.” Matty sat down next to Brit.

“Wait, we’re having a hot tub party now?” Beau yelled from the pool. “Can we join?”

“I guess there’s enough room for the two of you.” Liv called back to him. Beau jumped out of the pool and ran towards the tub before Val even got towards the edge. She laughed at him but made her way to us nonetheless.

Liv was sitting upright in the bed while I was lying on her lap, resting the back of my head against her chest. It was calm and peaceful, just a chance to relax. She twirled my hair in one hand while the other was holding up a book that she was reading. I took the chance to respond to a lot of the tweets that I receive from fans and friends as well.

“I wish it could be like this all the time.” Liv sighed and rubbed my shoulder.

“I do too.” I looked up at her face, a single tear had fallen down her cheek.

“What’s wrong sweetie?” I scrambled off of her so I could hold her now.

“It’s just, I mean.” More tears were coming now and I couldn’t stand to see this beautiful woman cry, not now, not ever. “Being with you like this makes me wish that I could be with you more often, you know? I just had to fall in love with a rock star that’s always out traveling.”

“Come on now,” I wiped her tears away. “You know that the time that we do spend together is precious. And I want you to know that I cherish every single moment that we have.”

“You’re right.” She nodded and planted a small kiss upon my lips. “I love you Alex.”

“I know baby, and I love you more than you will ever know.”
