Olivia POV:

Back to work again. The morning routine was a drag, worse than usual, as I slumped around the house trying to get ready. It was the same as usual. Wake up, get dressed, makeup, breakfast, feed the dogs, go to work. But at least Alex was going to drive me to work today.

“I’m going to miss you today baby,” he said into my ear as we were sitting in front of the building.

“I know, we don’t get to cuddle all day.” I pouted. I seriously did not want to go back to work today. We were going to start preparing for the January issue of the magazine and the first part is always the worst.

“But at least I’ll see you later.” He rubbed my side.

“Will you come keep me company at lunch today?” I asked hopefully.

“I don’t think so.” He sighed, “the guys and I have a big interview today with Pierce the Veil to promote the tour for next year. Sorry but I have a day full of press.”

“That’s okay.” I patted his thigh and reached for the door handle.

“I love you,” he kissed my cheek quickly before I opened the door.

“Love you too.” I said before making my way up to the building.

“So how was your holiday?” Liz chirped in her usual cheery voice.

“Great,” I smiled, “I spent my first Christmas with Alex and my first without my parents.”

“Wow, I forgot about that.” She smiled back at me. “I just went to my parent’s house, as usual, and did literally everything for them. I swear, it’s like nobody knows how to bring order to opening presents.”

“Tell me about it.” I tried not to roll my eyes at the thought. “That’s how it always was at my parent’s house.”

“Are you guys ready for coffee?” Dave popped his head into the office to get our orders for the day.

“I think I’m good today, actually.” Liz told told him.

“Yeah, I don’t think I’m really in the mood either.” I agreed with Liz’s choice.

“Well then,” Dave took a step back, “I guess that there’s no need for a coffee run this morning.”

He went down the hall and back into his office. Liz and I worked quietly, researching and writing some basic topics for possible articles.

“Hey,” Liz stopped me from working. “Do you think we should do an entire makeup article? You know, showing different looks with some matching outfits or something?”

“Well, we never do huge makeup articles…” I thought about the idea she had placed in my head. “I mean, I guess I do have some pretty good ideas for looks.”

“Yeah, and I figured that since our styles were so similar, that we could really get along well on this project.” She shrugged and chewed on her pen.

“I think that if you ran it by the boss, it would be an amazing article.” I flashed her a smile. She leaped out of her chair and traipsed down to the boss’s office. I started looking up some makeup ideas on YouTube and Google to get some beauty inspiration. Usually things just come to me, but after a vacation, my creative spirit was drained.

“Hey,” Dave popped his head into the office again. I should be used to his routine visits by now, but I always jump when he shows up. “Are you guys almost ready for a lunch break? The boss is going to take all of us out to sushi.”

“Are you serious?” Liz asked.

“Yeah,” Dave stepped into the room completely.

“You guys coming to sushi?” Drew stepped in next to Dave.

“I guess so.” I stood up and grabbed my purse. “But I’m going to have to drive with one of you since Lex drove me to work this morning.”

“I’ll drive you.” Drew offered.

“So how was your day?” Alex asked when I stepped into the car.

“Not as stressful as I had anticipated,” I let out a sigh as I buckled myself into the passenger seat. “How was yours?”

“Extremely boring, but well worth it,” he leaned over and kissed my cheek. “You know, I missed you today.”

“I think I missed you more.” I leaned over to kiss his cheek.

“I’m not sure that’s possible.” He turned his head and pecked my lips before I could reach his cheek. “Let’s get you home so you can just relax.”

“Alright Lex,” I leaned back into the seat and tried not to doze off.

“We’re home.” Alex woke me up. Well that plan was a complete bust. I unbuckled and slid out of the car slowly. We went inside and I kicked off my shoes and shrugged off my jacket. I could really go for a bath right now.

“I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me.” He kissed my forehead and ran off into the room. I was left in the hallway by myself. I sighed and went into the kitchen after him, I was hungry after all. When I stepped into the kitchen, Alex wasn’t in there. I set my purse down on the counter.

“Alex, where are you?” I called out.

“Oh, I’m in here.” I heard him say from the dining room. I followed his voice and took a look around the rarely used dining room. He had a nice white table cloth spread out with rose petals all over it. Two plates were served with some pasta and there was a glass of red wine to accompany the meal.

“Alex,” I was taken aback by his romantic antics, they will never cease to impress me. “What is all this?” I finally managed to get out.

“We haven’t really had a romantic date in a while, so I just thought that it would be a good idea.” He shrugged.

“That’s so sweet,” I went over to him and hugged him tightly. “Thank you.”

We sat across from each other at the table and I couldn’t help but smile like a fool. Alex was so sweet and caring, I couldn’t think of anyone who could possibly compare to the man I’m lucky enough to call my lover.

Dinner was over faster than it started. We just placed our dishes in the sink, not bothering to take care of them until tomorrow or a later date. He carried me upstairs and set me down right in front of the bed. He unzipped my dress for me and I turned to help him out of his clothes as well. Once we were both completely naked I threw Alex on the bed and mounted his bare body.

“God, I’ve been waiting for this.” He groaned as I started to turn my hips and grind against him. I smiled seductively and worked my lips on his neck, hoping to get him all hot and bothered. He murmured something I couldn’t hear and held my hips.

“Liv, I don’t think I can wait any longer…” Alex managed to get out from underneath me so he could be on top. “I hope you’re ready too.”

Before I could say anything to argue, or agree, he was inside of me. His hips slammed into mine with desperation and need. I whimpered due to the lack of preparation but it was still good. I didn’t bother muffling the other sounds that escaped from me. He looked into my eyes, they were completely glazed over with lust. We turned again so that I was on my hands and knees. He entered once again and this time he went deeper.

“Alex, I-” I started to speak but was cut off.

“No, not now.” He went faster so he could catch up with me. With every thrust, he pushed me closer to the edge. It felt like a race now, to see who would finish first or if it would just be another tie.

“A-Alex,” I screamed out.

“Don’t worry baby, I’m almost there.” He kept going. His movements slowed after he yelled my name, loud enough for the neighbors to hear. I fell onto my stomach so my limbs could relax. He pulled me closer to him so we could cuddle during the night. I fell asleep to the sounds of his soft snores, dreaming of nothing special in the process.
