Drawn To Each Horizon

Twenty Three

Alex POV:

I rubbed my eyes and turned to my side. Olivia was still fast asleep. I smiled to myself and lazily wrapped an arm around her. My lips made their way down to kiss the back of Liv’s neck. She mumbled something and turned to face me.

“Good morning beautiful,” I kissed her nose.

“Morning handsome,” she cuddled into my chest. There was a knock at the door.

“Come in,” I said after I made sure we were both under the covers.

“Are you two up for breakfast in a few minutes?” My mom popped her head into the room.

“Sure, we’ll get ready and be down there soon.” I told her and watched her leave the room.

“Do we have to get up?” Liv groaned and rolled over.

“If you want to go home,” I kissed her neck again.

“Mmm, I don’t wanna.” She set her head back on my chest.

“Well, if we go home, we can cuddle there.” I tempted her with my offer.

“I guess we could do that.” She got out of the bed and went into the bathroom. I got up and threw on the clean clothes I brought with. Liv stepped out of the bathroom moments later in some new clothes and some simple makeup. I packed my clothes from yesterday up in my bag and Liv did the same. We brought our bags downstairs and sat down at the kitchen table.

--

“So,” my mom walked us to the door, “You two are going home today.”

“Yeah,” Olivia sighed.

“Well, you know that you’re always welcome.” She smiled.

“We know mom.” I wrapped an arm around Liv’s waist.

“I wasn’t talking to you Alexander.” She rolled her eyes.

“Oh, well I’d love to visit you guys sometime while Alex is away.” Liv smiled. “But I don’t know if I can get much time of work in the next few months.”

“Why’s that?” Mom asked.

“We’re going on vacation in the spring and I took an entire week off.” Liv told her. “So I’m trying not to take any more time off than needed.”

“Oh, well then sweet heart, I guess we’ll see you two another time.” My mom sent us on our way. We hugged her one last time and went out to my car. We drove off and the car was quiet.

“Do you think Jack actually let the dogs out?” I thought of the dogs for the first time this morning.

“Probably not,” Liv sighed. “Let’s just get home and make sure that they’re okay.”

I nodded and maybe I went a little faster, I don’t know. But we were home sooner than I knew it. I opened the door to see my excited pups and I ran to let them outside. They ran around and panted at my feet. Liv stood at the backdoor and smiled at me.

“Having fun with the boys?” She laughed.

“Yeah,” I went over to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

“What are we doing today?” She rested her head on my shoulder.

“I thought we came back to cuddle.” I said.

“Okay.” She mumbled and led me upstairs to our room. She immediately changed into some pajamas and I did the same. We crawled onto the bed and just lay together.

--

“So, how was it at your parent’s?” Jack asked. All of the guys and I went out to a bar and Liv hung out at Rian’s house with Cassadee.

“It was great actually.” I smiled. “Mom and Dad really like her.”

“Right off the bat?” Jack smiled.

“Last time we saw them my mom said that Liv was better than Lisa.” I told him, “Which is obviously true.”

“Yeah dude, she’s way better.” Zack agreed.

“How’re things as a married couple?” I turned the attention towards Rian.

“Well now my parents expect grandchildren. I’m not sure if I’m ready for that yet.” He sighed.

“Wait, are they pressuring you?” Jack raised an eyebrow.

“Well, yeah.” Rian took a drink of his beer. “If Cassadee wasn’t a singer then maybe things would be different, but we’re both so busy all the time and there’s just no room for kids right now.”

“It’ll happen when you’re both ready.” Zack patted his back. All this talk about babies got me thinking. Was I ready for a family? I mean I love Liv and having her children would be the greatest thing to happen to me. But being gone on tour all the time, I would never get to see them. So maybe having kids right now isn’t the best idea. Besides, we aren’t even married. Alex shut up. You’ve been dating for 6 months.

--

“Did you have a good time?” Liv crawled into my chest.

“Yeah.” I smiled. “But Rian’s parents are trying to talk him into having babies.”

“But they’re still young.” Liv argued. “They need to give the boy time.”

“I know,” I sighed.

“Jeez,” she looked up at me. “Your parents won’t do that right?”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Well when we get married, will they ask things like this?” She blushed when she realized what she had said. “I mean-”

“Let’s just worry about that when the time comes.” I kissed her nose.

“Alright Lex.” She rested her head on my chest. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” I rubbed her back.
