Drawn To Each Horizon

Fourteen

Alex POV:

I didn’t think anybody was going to go with my cruise idea. I could even see in Olivia’s eyes that she wanted to visit one of the islands. So my idea will probably sink, oh well. As long as I’m with Olivia, this vacation will be great. We all wrote down our answers and placed them in Kellin’s fedora that he had on earlier. Kate shuffled the hat around a few times before handing the hat over to Olivia so she could tally up the votes. We would be keeping score on our hands; I’m in charge of the cruise, Matty Bora Bora, Kellin Hawaii, and Beau for Fiji.

She pulled out the first slip, “That’s one for Bora Bora,” and another, “One for Fiji,” she kept going through the slips of paper. “One for Hawaii, another for Fiji, Fiji, Fiji, Fiji, and the last is Fiji.” She laughed.

“Nobody went for the cruise?” Brittany asked.

“I knew it was a bad idea since you guys all gave me funny looks.” I laughed.

“Alright, well it looks like we’re going to Fiji.” Beau did a little happy dance.

“Sorry about Hawaii Kells.” Kate comforted the upset looking man.

“Hey I’m just happy that we’re going on vacation.” Matty laughed and went over to his wife.

“So are we going to book this now?” I asked. “Or should we wait?”

“We might as well book it now so we don’t have to do all this over the phone.” Olivia suggested. “Or I could email the girls all the possible details.”

“I have my laptop out in the car,” Katelynne stood up.

“And I’ve got my iPad right here.” Brittany pulled it out of her purse.

“I’ll go grab my computer for you guys.” Olivia said to Val and Beau before taking Valarie upstairs with her to grab it.

Olivia POV:

“Alright so I’ve got it-” I started to trail off before finding the laptop on the chair in our bedroom.

“Do you even want to go to Fiji?” Valarie asked.

“Yeah I think it’d be nice to go somewhere different and exciting.” I smiled genuinely.

“I’ll try to have Beau settle down on the activities so we can actually relax on this vacation.” She laughed before we headed back downstairs. Just as we reached the bottom steps, Kate was back in the house with her laptop bag on her shoulder.

“Let’s get this all planned out.” Alex cheered while we got everyone connected to the Wi-Fi. Once we were all hooked up we gathered with our partners and looked online to find the best place for us to stay.

“Dolphin Island sounds like fun.” Brittany started with ideas first.

“Yeah it’s a private island with cool rooms, a private beach, a sweet pool, and there are meals provided on the island.” Matty told us.

“That sounds like fun but what about all the cool activities we were going to do?” Beau asked.

“It’s only half an hour away from the main island,” Matty shrugged.

“Yeah but that would take a while.” I said. “We’ll put it down on the list.”

We continued to search for a place that could suit all of our needs. We talked about it for a long time until we stumbled upon a little beach house.

“It sounds perfect.” Valarie smiled.

“And there are four rooms?” Kellin asked.

“Yep,” Alex smiled, proud of his find. “And there’s one bathroom for each room. Plus a half bath near the kitchen and dining room.”

“Awesome, how much per night?” Matty asked.

“Well it’s about $1,000 per night which is a bit pricey but it would even out to $250 per couple a night.” I explained.

“And it’s close to the beach plus close enough to an activity center to do everything Beau wanted to plan out.” Alex said.

“Its part of this cute little village for tourists so there are loads of activities, there’s a spa, a private beach, pools, hot tubs, restaurants, and so much more.” I told them.

“I think we found our place.” Kate smiled at Kellin.

“We should start booking flights now.” Brittany said. We bought our plane tickets so we’d be staying five days. It was an expensive trip but Alex told me it’d be worth it. Alex and I were going to fly out a day before we flew out to Fiji and we were going to be staying at Beau and Val’s house since they lived in LA. Then we’d stay with them another night after we flew back so we could go home the next day. I had to take an entire week off work for this trip but it‘d be okay. After all, I hadn’t taken a day off since I started my job. Plus all I needed to do was answer emails while I was there. The house had Wi-Fi, so it wouldn’t be a big deal.

“Alright, so now that it’s all set we’d better talk to our bosses about getting time off.” Brittany laughed.

“Well none of us are touring or recording that week.” Val shrugged. “So we’re good.”

“I’ll talk to my boss on Monday.” I ran a hand through my hair. “He likes me so it won’t really be a problem. I’ll just have to bust my ass the week before.”

“Alright well you have fun with that.” Kellin laughed.

“I sure as hell won’t.” I laughed with him. We had spent a few hours researching and planning. It was already time for a late lunch or early dinner, depending on how you look at it. Kate of course fed Cope lunch and she would get dinner with us too.

“So what are we doing for dinner?” Alex asked.

“Nothing expensive,” Matty laughed. “I’m pretty sure I just went over budget.”

“No we didn’t.” Brit laughed along with him.

“How about we just order pizza.” Beau suggested.

“Uh oh, someone’s breaking their diet.” Val giggled.

“Alright I’ll order something.” Alex got up to go make some pizza orders. We got one Mediterranean for Beau since it was a semi healthy option, one vegetarian for the losers in the room who don’t eat meat, and a sausage with pepperoni with cheese stuffed crust to taunt the others.

“It was so good to see you.” I hugged Brit before she walked out the door.

“We’ll see each other again soon.” She laughed before pulling away.

“You guys should come visit Seattle some time.” Matty smiled and pulled me into a hug.

“It’s really funny that you guys weren’t friends before, considering that Liv used to live in Seattle.” Alex laughed.

“I know, it’s really odd.” Brit laughed.

“And we just moved to Oregon so we weren’t always that close.” Kate laughed and pulled me into a hug.

“But I got to see Alex here on Warped Tour.” Kellin pulled me into a hug.

“And we’ve been in LA.” Val and Beau hugged me at the same time.

“Well baby Cope,” I smiled wide and wiped a tear away. “I’ll see you again soon.”

“Say bye bye to aunty Liv!” Kate tickled Cope’s sides.

“I’m an aunty now?” I laughed.

“Only if you want to.” Kate picked up Cope.

“Yay now we’re all aunties!” I hugged Brit and Val.

“Auntie hugs!” Val giggled.

“Uncle hugs!” Beau pulled Matty and Alex into his arms. They struggled but it was no use, the dude was like the Incredible Hulk.

“Bye guys!” I waved to them and closed the door once they were all outside. “I miss Cope.”

“Me too.” Alex laughed and pulled me into a hug.

Notes

Guys, I actually had to do some research for this chapter. I mean, after a while I gave up because I couldn't find the perfect place for them to stay so I just made one up. But hey, whose excited for Fiji?? I think I might post some pictures of the island just to give you guys an idea of where they're staying. And I posted today because I didn't have any homework! I was so excited about that! But I'm sad about Full Frontal being a repeat, but hey, they're busy.
