ATL POV
"Stop! Come back!" Alex yelled, terrified at the thought of this beautiful creature leaving his sight.
The girl, Laura, stopped dead in her tracks and slowly made her way back to the chair.
"Really? It's still okay for me to try out?" She almost whispered.
"Of course, sweetheart. But tell me, did your parents approve this?"
Laura started forward, looking like she was about to cry and pass out at the same time. Zack rushed forward, helping her up.
"I'm fine, really. Sorry, you just surprised me. My parents are dead, I live alone." She stammered.
My god, all the boys thought. 15 and living alone?
"Well, I guess it's okay then. Are you feeling well enough to still audition?" Asked Alex.
"Sure," came the reply, and she turned to the keys.
Laura's POV
Parents. Oh, god. Why, of all things did he have to say that? I felt Zack rush over to help me up.
"I'm fine, really. Sorry, you just surprised me. My parents are dead, I live alone." As soon as the words leave my mouth, I see the automatic though process go through the band. As if they'll let me in now.
But then I heard Alex tell me it was okay, that I could still audition. I sighed heavily in relief, and turned to the keyboard. I let the songs flow out of me fingers, even singing along. I knew that wasn't part of it, but oh well, it couldn't hurt now, right?
