Something More?
ATL POV
The last hour has been awful. Boring old man after full-of-himself kid over and over again. We've gone through 9 applicants. How different can this last one be?
"Hey, Alex. Who's the last candidate?" Asked Jack tiredly.
"Some chick named Laura. Doesn't look serious in her picture, definitely younger than she claims. I wonder why?" Alex replied.
"Guess we'll find out, 'cuz here she comes. And might I say yum!"
Laura's POV
Oh my god I'm so nervous. I don't think I've ever felt like this before. Sitting in this room with 9 strangers, all in varying degrees of weirdness, I stand out like a sore thumb. Only girl, of course. And I'm last, going to be compared to everyone else. Wonderful.
I don't even notice as the room empties, until I look up and see the last boy come out of the audition room looking like death himself had just destroyed his soul. Oh, god I'm scared. Not going to back down now, though. My family won't have died in vain, I'm going to make them proud. Right here, right now.
I unsteadily got to my feet and headed towards the door. As I entered the new room, I heard a collective gasp from the guys, and almost decided to run out then. Was I really that awful looking? Tears started to well up, but I repressed them. I'm better than that.
Looking closer, I saw that there was a lone chair behind a keyboard, facing all four members of ATL on a couch.
"Well, hello there beautiful," I heard Rian say, "What's your name?"
"I-I'm Laura," I managed to stammer, "I'm here to audition as a potential pianist."
"Girl, not that I'm complaining, but how old are you really? I know that there's no way you're 25."
Shit, they saw through it. Now they'll never sign me.
"I'm 15. Sorry, but I didn't think you guys would accept me if you knew how young I was. I'll just go."
I turned around and started heading towards the door
"NO! Come back!"
