Figuring Things Out
Matt's POV
Having an angry band is no fun thing. Luckily, Laura didn't press charges and the police left it alone. But now I have people I care about to answer to.
"Can you guys get Zack in here? I need to talk to the four of you. Laura will be safe with the rest of the crew. You know you can trust them."
My words are met with three very harsh glares. I fall back into the couch.
"You know what? Fine. I'd like to hear this myself." Jack growled, storming off. He came back a few minutes later with a very pissed-off looking Zack.
"You have about five minutes to explain before I punch your fucking lights out and rip your dick off, Matthew."
I gulp. "I can't........I can't even apologize enough. I know that. There's know way to completely fix this. But I need you to know something. I never, did that to her. You know, I didn't rape her. I couldn't bring myself to."
I saw a flash of relief fly across their faces. "You know, I think I believe you Matt. If that had happened she would have had your sorry ass thrown in jail. Now, please enlighten us as to why you kidnapped her in the first place?"
"I've been drunk for the past two days. Jenny fucking cheated on me. I got pissed, and I knew I could easily overpower Laura. I would never, sober, or drunk now, even think about doing that to her. I care about Laura. I'm her fucking guardian. I....I was just messed up in the head. I know it's no excuse. There is no excuse. I just want to move on. I want to forget this happened, and for you guys and Laura to be okay."
"It is." We all turned to see Laura at the door with tears in her eyes.
Laura's POV
"t's okay. I really think it is. I mean, Matt's got a lot to make up for. But I can move on, and so can youys. We're together for a reason. Not necessarily to go through shit like this, especially not on any kind of regular basis. But I understand."
And I believe the words I'm saying. I really do.
