Rebecca’s POV
What is it Alex is up to? First he changes where we are going, then he makes me change from a blink shirt to a Green Day shirt and now he keeps staring at me and turning away blushing when I catch him. He’s acting strange and I don’t know why. What Jake said this morning plays on my mind…maybe Alex does like me? What no Rebecca you’re being stupid, why would he like someone like me, no one ever will, you know what you did, you don’t deserve someone as great as him. I continue walking as fast as I can to try and keep up with Alex, wherever we are going, we are probably late.
“Alex will you slow down, I can’t walk as fast as you.” I yell coming to a standstill. He turns round to face me before quickly glancing off into the distance, I stare at him wondering whats going through his mind, and before I know it he picks me up and chucks me over his shoulder before continuing walking.
“Lex! What are you doing? Put me down now!” I shout trying to hold in the laughter trying to escape my body.
“Hell no! We have some place to be and you madam are slowing us down.” He replies before lightly smacking my bum causing me to blush. A million thoughts go through my mind at this moment; they start to make me feel dizzy. After what seems like ages we arrive outside a building to a cue of people, Alex walks us to the back before putting me down. I glance up the cue and notice around 10-15 people…all wearing a piece of Green Day merchandise. I become immediately confused and turn to face Alex for answers. He smiles at me before producing two passes from his pocket, I hold them up to my eyes to see what they say:
Green Day Meet and Greet Pass
I feel my eyes widen and my heart speed up, I glance up at Alex with a huge smile plastered on my face.
“You gotta be fucking kidding me Lex!” I yell excitement building up.
“Surprise!” he replies, his famous smile plastering his face.
“Omg Alex! Thank you, thank you so much.” I shout jumping up to hug him tightly placing a small kiss on the cheek. I notice a cute blush start to wash over Alex’s cheek and decide against pointing it out. I pull apart from him and look him in the eyes. “What in the hell made you do this?” I ask curiosity taking over.
“I just saw them advertise, and I knew how much you are in love with Green Day and I just wanted to surprise my bestfriend.” He replies smiling at me. I feel my heart sink a little when he says ‘bestfriend’ but I quickly shake it off…I’m meeting Green Day for fucks sake! There is no time for being sad! I hug Alex one more time, again thanking him before checking my phone to see that we still have another hour before we are let in.
Alex’s POV
I could tell she loved the surprise, just from the huge grin she had on her face. She was so excited; she thinks I can’t see her trying to stop herself from jumping around with happiness…it’s the cutest thing ever. And then she kissed my cheek! I couldn’t believe my luck when that happened…and me being the stupid idiot I am, I had to go and blush, she probably thinks I’m weird now or something.
After what seems like forever the cue starts to move and people start to enter the building. I can tell that now Rebecca is nervous, she’s stopped jumping and has become ghostly pale. I can’t blame her though, she’s about to meet her idols. Even I’m a little nervous, Green Day are one of my favourite bands. We enter the room and I feel Becca stop in her tracks at the sight of the three musicians standing in the room. First we walk over to punk haired bassist Mike Dirnt.
“Hey how’s it going?” he asks smiling at both of us.
“Ermm, yeah errr…oh my god you’re Mike Dirnt.” Rebecca exclaims before hiding her face in her hands from embarrassment I wrap an arm round her comfortingly trying not to laugh. “My god, I’m so sorry, it’s just, I love you guys so much! You’ve helped me through so many problems.” Leah explains smiling at the bassist.
“Hey it’s totally fine and I’m glad to hear we have helped you.” He replies smiling, he leans in and hugs Rebecca before Rebecca returning to my hug. He notices my arm before continuing “and may I just say, you guys make the cutest couple.” He adds before winking. I immediately blush before looking away.
“ermmm actually we are just bestfriends.” I explain smiling.
“Yeah sure.” Mike replies winking again before walking off to meet other fans. “It was great meeting you.” He shouts walking away.
“Well that was awkward.” Leah laughs before noticing Tre Cool and running out of my arms to see him. I sigh and smile at her carefree attitude. I think about what Mike said, he thought we were a couple, I could understand why he’s confused, most people do think we are couple with the way we act, and they are always shocked when we explain we are just bestfriends, some even think we are joking. I watch her interact with the drummer with a smile on my face.
“You know you should probably tell her.” explains a voice from behind me. I turn round to come face to face with the one and only Billie Joe Armstrong.
“Holy shit you’re Billie Joe Armstrong.” I exclaim at the small guitarist. He chuckles at my at my outburst and I quickly apologise.
“What’s your name son?” He asks smiling at me.
“A-Alex, Alex Gaskarth sir.” I reply utterly star-struck.
“okay first…no ‘sir’, makes me feel old.” He explains laughing. “and secondly Alex, you should probably tell her how you feel.” He explains pointing in the direction of Rebecca.
“Who Rebecca, what are you on about? Me like her? There are no feelings there.” I ramble on continuing spouting random sentences.
“Oh come off it dude, I see the way you look at her, that’s love dude, you’re in love with her. You know how I know, that’s the same way I use to and still do look at my wife, the look of infatuation.” He explains laughing. I stand there shock as the realisation hits me…I love Rebecca.
“You are so right.” I mutter staying shocked.
“I know I’m right and I’m telling you now, if you don’t do something about it, you will lose her.” He explains with a knowing look. I glance over at Rebecca admiring her beauty…I gotta do something soon.
