Me and Alex had been texting constantly for the past 3 days, and I'm meeting him again today. Jack however, has tried calling me and texting me, but I can't forgive what he did. I mean, what if he does it again?
"Lauren!" Dad shouted from downstairs. I went down.
"Yes?" I asked when I was down.
"Me and your Mum are leaving for holiday today, we wont be back for 3 weeks. We left $500 for food. Be good" He said. They picked their suitcases up and left. I was finally home alone. For 3 weeks. I don't have to be scared of my Dad for 3 weeks. I quickly ran over to my phone and called Alex.
"Hey" He said.
"Hey, change of plans, my parents just left for holiday, come round whenever you're ready" I said.
"Okay, I'll be there in an hour" With that he hung up. I put my phone in my pocket then I looked down at my hand and sighed. It was bandaged up. Dad stamped on my hand and it fractured 3 fingers. How do I explain this one to Alex? To take my mind off of things, I tided up and made sure everything was clean and tidy. Someone knocked on the door 5 minutes after I'd finished.
"It's open!" I shouted and someone walked in. I went out to the hall to see who it was. Of course, it was Alex. He hugged me.
"I have 5 Disney movies picked out along with snacks and drinks." I said.
"Oh how could I turn that down?" He said. I laughed and we went upstairs to my room where I had everything set up for a movie day. He looked at all the posters on my walls.
"You have a good taste in music. And is that a guitar I see? I didn't know you played." He said.
"Yeah, I write songs too, I kinda um wrote one about you" I said. Shit, why did I just say that?
"Can I hear it?" He asked.
"Yeah" I replied and picked up my guitar

Alex" When I finished I looked up with him and he had tears in his eyes.
"I'm not crying, that's just the song, it was beautiful" He said.
"Well, I'm glad you like it" I said, then put of the first movie, I led on the bed next to Alex and he pulled me into his chest. I don't know how, but I soon fell asleep in his arms.

"Lauren, Lauren wake up, your phone's ringing" Alex said, shaking me awake. I pulled my phone out of my pocket. It was Jack. I sighed and answered it.
"Hello?" I said.
"Lauren oh my got, thank fuck you answered, I was so worried about you!" He said.
"Well you didn't seem worried about me last time I saw you" I said sarcastically. Alex raised his eyebrow at me 'Its Jack' I mouthed to him.
"Look Lauren I'm sorry, but uh, I'm coming over" He said.
"No Jack don't" He's already hung up.
"What's wrong babe?" Alex asked. Did he just call me babe?
"Jack's coming over to apologise" I sighed, leaning on his shoulder.
"Oh, do you want me to leave?" He asked.
"No, stay please" I said. He put his arm around my shoulder and we just sat like that until Jack knocked at the door. We went down and Alex sat at the table while answered it. He came in and walked through to the kitchen behind me. I stood by Alex's chair and he just looked at us.
"Who's he?" He asked, pointing at Alex.
"I'm Alex, I go to your old school" Alex said.
"Oh yeah, Alex the dick head!" Jack shouted.
"Jack, don't!" I said.
"Don't what Lauren? Shout at the guy who's just gonna use you? Or is he your new boyfriend?" He asked, his voice louder than normal.
"Jack, you know none of that's true, Alex is my friend" I said.
"Yeah, friends with benefits, how did you meet anyway?" He asked.
"I was sat under a tree in the park and he fell out of it on top of me, the same day you tried kissing me" I said.
"Yeah, it sounds like you're the one trying to use her, not me" Alex spoke up.
"You stay out if this, this is between me and the girl" Jack said.
"She has a name you know" Alex said standing up and walking forwards. I could see where this was going.
"Alex sit down!" I shouted. He did as I asked.
"Yeah, do what she says, that's fine." Jack said.
"Jack, you're clearly drunk, leave and come back sober" I sighed running my hand through my hair.
"You know what Lauren? Maybe you DO deserve having parents like yours. And maybe you should just fucking kill yourself" He shouted.
"Don't you dare fucking mention that" I said.
"Or what?" He replied. I used the last threat I wanted to.
"I'll mess up my Dad's room and say you came round drunk and did it." I said. He just stared at me, before running at me, grabbing me around the neck and pinning me to the island. Alex jumped up and pulled him off me and pushed him to the other side of the room. He then checked to see if I was okay.
"Are you alright Lauren?" He asked. I nodded getting my breath back. I put my hand on my head where it hit something. It felt sticky and warm. I knew what it was.
"I'm bleeding" I said to Alex.
"We're taking you to hospital" He said. He got Jack out of the house, got me a towel to put pressure on my head with and drove me straight to the hospital in his Mums car. We got there and they fixed it and gave me painkillers.

"We're staying at mine tonight just in case Jack comes back" Alex said. I looked at him and nodded. We went back to mine so I could pack a bag.
"Bring your guitar as well" he said. We loaded my stuff into the car and drove back to his. I could see myself being great friends with Alex, especially after everything he's done for me.
