Mistakes
One call, that's all...
I stepped off the plane and made my way out. I got to the out side and hailed a taxi. I got in. "Where you headed?" A man asked me. "I guess any hotel, please." I said. He turned the car into traffic. "So what brings and American to England?" He asked. "Running away." I said with a laugh. "He smiled back at me. We didn't talk much after that.
He pulled up and gave me a total. I paid him and got out. I walked into the hotel. "Can I get a room please?" "Of coarse." She said. "What size room?" "Uhh... A queen is fine. Thank you." I said. She nodded and pulled out a key card for me. "3rd floor, room 308." "Thanks again." I said handing her my credit card. She handed it back and I made my way to my room. I got into the elevator.
I made it to the 3rd floor and went in search of my room. I got to the door and put the card in, it beeped and I opened the door. I looked around the room. I missed everything about my home. I walked over and sat on the bed. I missed the fact my sheets smelled like Jack, and that The bathroom reeked of hairspray when he was done with his hair.
I laid face first across the bed. I sighed into the covers. I stayed like that for a few until I realized I still don't have clothes or even a tooth brush. I sat up and pulled out my phone, looking for the nearest anything around here. I saw a mall not that far away. I stood up picking up my card and sliding it into my wallet.
I left the hotel and headed down the side walk. I ran into a guy. "Oh shit. I'm sorry. I'm extremely clumsy." I said. "It's quite alright, It's not everyday you get run over by a pretty girl." He said. I blushed. "I'm Paige." I said. "I'm Oliver, but I go by Oli... Where were you headed, your accent tells me your not from around here." "Nope, From America, Baltimore to be exact. And I was heading to the mall."
He laughed a little. "What?" I asked. "You're going the wrong way." I gripped my phone tighter in my hand. "Uggh. Phone!" I said and smiled back up at him. "Thank you." I said. "I could take you if you wanted?" He said pointing in the direction. "I would like that." I said. He took my arm and pulled my with him.
We pushed through people and made it there. We walked in. "Alright what are we looking for?" He asked. "Uhh. Everything. I need clothes, a tooth brush, hair brush you know just everything." I said. "You came on a vacation with nothing?" He asked. "No, I just left. I wasn't supposed to be here." I said. "Well I'm glad your here, you seem really nice." I blushed again and we walked around till we found everything I was looking for.
"I like this one." He said holding up a see through shirt. I laughed. "Yeah... Me too." I said. He laughed and put it down. We got me some clothes and such along with whatever else I needed. We walked out of the mall. "Do you know any places around that serves good fish and chips?" I ask. "Well sure." "Would you like to accompany me?" I asked.
"Sure." We walked down the side walk just talking about anything. "So where were you supposed to be, instead of here?" "I was supposed to be in Australia for 2 weeks, but decided here might be better for now." I said. We made it to a place that was serving fish and chips.
"I don't get the whole fry vs. chip thing... They're both the same thing." I said popping one of the frys into my mouth. "Me either. So what do you do, Paige?" "I work a merch booth for my...friends band..." I said. "That's cool. What band?" "All Time Low." "I've gone on Warped with them before." "What band are you with?" I asked.
"Bring me the Horizon. I'm the lead singer." "That's really cool." I said. We finished eating and Oli had to help me carry all my crap up into my hotel room. I collapsed on the bed. Oli fell next to me. I sighed just thinking about everything that has happened to me. "When are you going back to the states?" He asked. "I don't know if I even wanna go back yet..." I said looking at Oli. "Well you can always come stay with me if you want, I live in an apartment all by myself." I sat up.
"Really? You just met me." He sat up too. "I feel something with you, like as if we've been friends for forever." I smiled. "Strangely, I feel the same way." He smiled at me. "Does that mean you'll consider the offer?" He said leaning towards me. I laughed. "Sure, What else do I have to loose." I said. He hopped up. "Alright, Grab your stuff!" "Wait right now?!" I asked. "Yeah, what better way to get you used to it."
I stood up. "Grab your stuff." "All we bought today is all I have..." I said. "Alright." We grabbed my stuff and checked out. We started down the side walk. We got about 20 minutes into our walk. "I promise it's not much further." He said. "Ok, that's fine." I said. "So I'm assuming since you may stay here longer, you'll need a job..." "Yeah, but I'll go look-"
"Nonsense! Come do merch for us. We're about to do a tour anyways and our last girl Kate just quit so." "I mean I guess I could do it." I said. He smiled. "Hey look were here!" He walked me up the steps and opened the door. The door flew open and he stepped inside. I looked around. "This place is amazing, Oli."
"It's grown on me." He replied with kicking off his shoes. I did the same. "Here, let me show you to your room." He said taking all the bags from me. We walked up the stairs and took a left at the top. He pushed the door open. There was a king size bed, dresser, and two night tables. "This place was made special for a couple, but they backed out and I took it over. I thought it was weird it had two master bedrooms."
I walked across and landed on the bed. Oli walked towards the bed dropping the bags on the hope chest at the end. I pulled him onto the bed with me and hugged his torso, while he laid next to me. It took a sec but he wrapped his arms around me too. "Thank you so much, You don't even know... It's been like the most stressful past few days." He laughed. "Glad I could help." "You did so much for me already. Your like the coolest British person ever." I said.
He laughed, and I looked at his face a huge toothy smiled erupting on his face. It was gorgeous. I laid my head back down on his chest and her ran his fingers through the back of my hair. I started to drift off when my phone went off. I sat up and pulled it out of my back pocket. It was Zack.
I sat there for a minute, just staring at it... Did I really wanna answer it, Did I really want to stay? That's when it stopped ringing. I set it on the night stand. "Who was that, if I may ask?" Oli said. "The people I'm running from." I said back. He just gave me a look like If you wanna talk about it, I'm here. I smiled. "What kind of movies do you have?" I asked.
"Umm... None you would know..." He said. "Do you have a computer?" I asked. "Yeah." "We should watch Netflix and snuggle in our Pj's and..." I realized who I was talking to... "And be totally creepy and we just met-" "No. That actually sound completely perfect..." He smiled at me again. It made my heart melt. "Ok... I'll put on my Jammies. You do yours and grab your computer."
I stood up reaching for my bags. I pulled out some Pj's I bought. Oli stepped out of the room. I pulled off my clothes and stepped into my Pj's. I moved the decorative pillows off the bed and pulled down the blanket. Oli poked his head in. "Hey..uhh... Do you care if I sleep in my boxers...?" "No, go ahead. Do you see what I'm wearing? It's like equivalent to the same thing."
He walked in with laptop in hand. "What movie do you wanna watch?" I asked as he set it up. "Doesn't matter to me, whatever you would like." "Have you ever seen the Breakfast club?" I asked. "No." "Well that's a classic, so we gotta watch it." I said pushing him out of the way. "Well then." "Sorry, you were in my way." I said back and gave him a smile.
We were about half way through, I was leaned against Oli with my head in his chest. I felt like this was wrong, but at the same time. Jack never called... Alex never called... and Zack only called once... I mean should I really feel guilty? Oli leaned up. "So tell me more about you." He said. I leaned up and had our knees touching. "Umm... I have 4 holes in each ear, I have my tongue and my belly button pierced. I have some tattoos, my favorite band is a tie between Mad Caddies and The Darkness. I can play Guitar, Banjo, ukelele, and the Piano."
I finished and he looked at me. "Your turn." I said. "I'm not as interesting, continue." He said. I looked at him, but he smiled and I couldn't help but do what he asked. "I umm... I was adopted after my parents died in a car crash. My favorite movie is The Princess Bride. I love chinese food." I held up my wrists that had deep purple cuts along them. "I had a problem along time ago, but for the most part it's fixed." I finished.
He took his hands and ran them across my scars. "Why?" "I got drunk at a party and my parents had to come get me, well the car go out of control and we went off a bridge. I made it out some how but my parents drowned... it was all my fault. If I would have listened to everyone else, I would have never needed a ride." I took in a breath.
"But after that my boyfriend of 3 years cheated on me and broke up with me..." I finished I wiped one tear away, I try not to cry at it anymore. He pulled me into his arms and gave me a hug. I loved the feel of his skin on my own. "I will always be here if you want it." He said. I nodded against his chest. He pulled me under the covers and let me lay against him as I fell asleep.
This is becoming a lovely friendship...
