Jacks POV
I woke up to hear Alex being sick in the bathroom. I ran in. He asked me for a glass of water. After this kept happening for a week. We spoke to Isobel she didn’t understand why Alex kept being sick in the mornings so she made a doctor’s appointment for a weeks’ time. Alex was still being sick in the mornings. We went to the doctors. We were holding hands and I was cuddling Alex in the waiting room. All the old people that were also sat in the waiting room gave us a few evil stares. Eventually the doctor called Alex. “Mr Gaskarth” We followed the doctor to his room “So what seems to be the problem?” He asked.
“Well for the past two weeks, I keep being sick”
“Is it at specific times or is it random?”
“It is just in the mornings when I wake up”
“Are you sexually active?”
“Yes”
“Is he your partner” he said pointing to me
“Yes” Alex replied
“Right Mr Gaskarth, I am going to have to do some blood and urine tests. We will call you when we get the test results back” I and Alex walked out of the doctor’s surgery. We went back to Alex’s house Isobel came home.
“How was the doctor? What did they say?” she asked
“They had to do some blood and urine tests the doctor is going to ring when he gets the results back”
“Okay, well I hope you are okay” The doctor eventually called we went back and he called us into his office.
“What did my test results say? Is it bad news? ” Alex asked
“No it’s not bad news but you will be shocked by it because we are”
“Why? What is it?” Alex asked confused and worried
“Well your blood and urine tests are telling us that you are pregnant. I have booked you an appointment with the midwife”
“So me being sick was morning sickness?”
“Yes” The doctor answered bluntly
“Okay why is this because I didn’t think that men could get pregnant”
“Well nor did I Mr Gaskarth. I am just as confused as you are. We will run further tests”
“So if you are confused. I must be some sort of freak”
“No, no Mr Gaskarth. Anyway the midwife is ready for you” As we were walking to where the midwife was Alex started talking to me.
“Jack, I understand if you don’t want to be with me anymore. You don’t have to stay with me” He started crying.
“Lexy, I love you. I am not going to leave you. I love our baby to”
“Okay, will you be with me when I tell my parents. I’m scared. What if they hate me?”
“Lexy they won’t hate you, they can’t be angry at you. There is no way you could’ve known that you were going to get pregnant.”
“Okay, I guess” He sobbed. We walked into the Midwifes room.
“Okay Mr Gaskarth would you like to jump up on the bed and pull up your shirt” Alex jumped up on the bed and pulled up his shirt.
“This is going to be cold” The midwife told Alex as she squeezed gel onto Alex’s stomach she started moving the scanner over Alex’s belly, It wasn’t obvious that he was pregnant yet.
“Looking at your scan Mr Gaskarth it looks as if you are 7 weeks. Would you like some scan pictures for you and your boyfriend”
“Yes please and can I have some for my parents and my boyfriend’s mum?” Alex asked
“Yes” She clicked a button and handed us some pictures. “Right your next appointment is in five weeks’ time we will do another scan and we should be able to tell the sex of your baby”
“Okay thank you” We walked out and put the photos in our pockets and walked home.
