Jacks POV
I and Isobel rushed to the hospital. I hoped Tom was going to be okay. We saw Alex when we arrived at the hospital. “Jack the police need to talk to you about the attack on Tom” I followed him to where the police were.
“Right Mr Barakat can you tell us what happened to Thomas Gaskarth tonight”
“Sure me, Alex and Tom were walking back from school when Mark, James and Sam came out. Mark had a knife and stabbed Tom multiple times in the stomach and chest”
“Okay thank you Mr Barakat that will be all for now” I walked out of the office and went to find Alex and Isobel. I wanted to see how Tom was doing. I found Alex.
“How is Tom doing?”
“He is doing okay, I think. They have taken him for emergency surgery. So hopefully he will be okay. The doctor has told us the blade has gone through his heart. They are putting stiches in and are hoping that will work”
“What if that didn’t work” Although I was terrified of the answer.
“He is going to die” Alex started crying.
“Alex, he will pull through. Tom is fighter, just think positive Lex”
“What if he doesn’t though what if he dies?” He was now sobbing into my chest.
“Lexy he will be fine” I soothed. I started stroking his hair I knew this calmed him down. A nurse came out.
“I have been asked to show you to the relative’s room” We followed her to a little room. “You can wait in here until we have more news on Tom”
“Okay thank-you” I could tell that Alex and Isobel were distraught. I really hope that Tom survived for Alex, Isobel’s and peters sake. I didn’t care what happened to Mark he deserved everything that he got. I knew what it was like to lose someone close unexpectedly. .I went through it my mum went through it. I didn’t want Alex to go through it. It was such an awful ordeal to go through. The nurse came into the little room.
“You can come and see Tom, I must warn you first though he is still in a very serious condition. He has a lot of tubes and wires attached to him. They are nothing to worry about it is just so that we can monitor him.” We followed the nurse to where Tom was. I grabbed Alex’s hand to give him support he gave mine a gentle squeeze back. We walked into the room where Tom was. As the nurse had told us he was connected to lots of different tubes and wires. We could hear the heart monitor beeping. Suddenly an alarm went off and a couple of nurses and doctors ran in through the door and wheeled Tom’s hospital trolley out of the room and down the corridor.
“What’s happening? What’s going on?” Alex demanded.
“We are not sure yet could you give us some room please “The nurse asked Alex held back I could tell he was really worried about Tom. The nurse came back.
“Would you like to wait in the relative’s room” We went back to the little room to wait for news on Tom I text Rian and Zack. Alex needed all the support he could get.
Rian, Zack can you come to Brookside general hospital ASAP. Alex needs you here. Mark Stabbed Tom.
Peter walked in “How is Tom doing?” he asked
“He has been taken back to the emergency department” Isobel told Peter.
“Why? What has happened?” he asked
“We don’t know the nurse told us to wait here until they had more news” The doctor came in.
“I am sorry Mr Gaskarth, Mrs Gaskarth, Mr Barakat but it is bad news. Tom’s injuries were severe. We are so sorry but we couldn’t save Tom” That was when Peter, Isobel and Alex all broke down. I knew how they felt. It is horrible to lose someone you love without having a chance to say goodbye. I didn’t know what to say or do. “Would you like to see him?” We followed the doctor to where Tom was. It was awful seeing him like that. I text Rian and Zack again.
Need you at the hospital Tom just died, Alex needs his friends now. Please come. Rian Text I back soon after.
Me and Zack are on our way my mum is driving us we will be there in five.
