Alex POV
We went into school Monday as usual Mark was waiting for us. “Thomas Gaskarth you better watch out, I have got something planned for you” I, Tom and Jack were walking home about three weeks later after Mark had threatened Tom. “I told you that you had better watch out Gaskarth” he snarled at Tom. That was when he took out his knife and rapidly stabbed Tom in the chest and stomach. He was bleeding very rapidly. I threw my phone at Jack he dialled 999.
“Tom, Tom is you okay” He was deteriorating very quickly “Tom just stays with me just keep talking to me” I was getting desperate now. I didn’t want Tom to die. I loved my brother. I could hear Jack on the phone.
“Ambulance, male 18 he has been stabbed, Riverside close.” He then told me “They said they are going to be five minutes” I was thankful when I heard sirens.
“Hi my names Jeff” The male paramedic told us.
“And my names Hannah” the female paramedic told us “Can you tell us his name please?”
“Tom”
“What happened?”
“Someone stabbed him”
“What with?”
“A knife”
“Is he normally fit and healthy”
“Yes”
“Does he drink? Take drugs?”
“No”
“Tom can you hear me my names Hannah. I’m a paramedic.” Tom let out a small groan. The paramedics got on the radio.
“Control can you alert Brookside general that we are coming in with a male with multiple stab wounds ETA 5 minutes”
“Which one of you is coming in the ambulance with us?” Hannah asked. I threw my keys at Jack.” I’ll go, Jack go home and ring my mum tell her to come to the hospital”
“Okay” We arrived at the hospital a nurse came over.
“It will help us if you give your brothers details to the receptionist”
“Okay” I walked over to where the desk was
“Can I help you” She asked
“Yes the nurse told me to give you my brother’s details he has just been brought in by ambulance”
“Name?”
“Thomas Gaskarth”
“Date of birth?”
“4th April 1993”
“Address?”
“314 Brookside Avenue”
“Okay thank you” I sat in the waiting room waiting for the doctors to tell me how Tom was, or my mum and Jack to come through the doors. I really hoped that Tom was going to be okay. I don’t know what I would do if Tom died. I saw the police they came up to me.
“Are you Mr Alexander Gaskarth?” They asked
“Yes”
“Did you see the attack on your brother?”
“Yes and so did my boyfriend Jack Barakat”
“Is Mr Barakat here now?”
“No he is coming in with my mum”
“Well can they follow us” They took me into an office.
“Can you tell us about the attack please?”
“Me, Tom and Jack were walking back from school and Mark, James and Sam came out of nowhere. Mark then pulled out a knife and stabbed Tom numerous times. I don’t know how many. They stabbed him in the stomach and chest”
“Okay thank you Mr Gaskarth. Will Mr Barakat confirm this?”
“Yes”
“When he gets here would you be able to direct him to talk to us please”
“Yes” My mum came through the emergency department doors.
“Alex” My mum said breathlessly “What’s happened? Is Tom okay?”
“Mark stabbed Tom; I don’t know if he’s going to be okay. The doctors haven’t told me anything. Jack the police want to talk to you. They are just in that little office there” He walked over to the office where the police were.
