Did Mark Get What He Deserved?

Eventually we had to go back home the police came to examine Tom; apparently they had to so that they had evidence to prosecute. A few days later I and Alex had to go back to school people started whispering when we walked past. We knew why it was because Tom had died. Our first lesson of the day was a lesson with Mark. We hated it halfway through the police came in.
“Mark Hoppus you are under arrest of suspicion of murdering Thomas Gaskarth you do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention, when questioned something which you may later rely on in court anything you do say may be given in evidence, do you understand?” The whole class looked shocked. I and Alex had to give another statement to the police. We had to go back to court. This time justice was served. The jury found Mark guilty. He got 25 years in jail unfortunately it was on a suspended sentence so he could go to school and finish his exams at Brookside. That meant he still could have time to do something to me and Alex. We knew he wanted us to go the same way as Tom. When me and Alex got home from school. Peter and Isobel reminded us that they were going away for the weekend. Before Tom died me, Alex and Tom had plans for this weekend. They weren’t going to happen now. I am sure me and Alex would still have fun. It wouldn’t be the same without Tom though. After Isobel and Peter left Zack and Rian came over. We played a few songs then went back upstairs and put a film on. We went to the kitchen to cook some pizza before we turned the oven on we smelt burning and saw smoke coming from the hall. Alex ran upstairs.
“Jack Marks outside do you think he did this?” he shouted down. Me, Rian and Zack ran upstairs. Zack was ringing the fire brigade.
“Fire service please, 314 Brookside Avenue 4 people trapped upstairs.” We were panicking now but luckily we had learnt what to do during PSHE so we closed the door and put blankets at the bottom to stop smoke getting in.
