Jack and Alex met in their sophomore year of high school. They met through some friends, and it turned out to be good that they did. Zack was Jack's friend, and Rian was Alex's. The four met by fate, and they all knew it.



Through the four the band 'All Time Low' was formed. It was great experience for the four, the band running strong for a total of twelve years. And somewhere along their journey, Alex and Jack got together. No one really knew how, but they saw it coming.



It was a few years later that Alex and Jack got married. Rian and Zack attending the wedding of their best friends. Everything was growing great for the two lovebirds, the two had just even adopted a little four year old boy named William.



But things took a turn for the happy family when Alex got diagnosed with leukemia.



(The title is after the song "Terrible Things" by Mayday Parade. I highly recommend listening to the song before reading since the song explains the story and it's just really a beautiful and sad song.)
