Lullabies

"Well, see you Monday I guess." Megan says to me. Oh not yet, beautiful. Not yet.

"No, wait." I respond. I then get out of the car and walk up to the door with them. I'm sure they were beyond confused because believe me, they looked it.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Kayla asks. I continued to walk into Megan's house without saying anything. I then noticed Megan's mom.

"Hey, Mrs. Reid. Just showing you that they are home safe." I say. "Just thought I'd throw that out there." Kayla and Megan looked at each other almost like they weren't expecting that. Really, I didn't feel the need to tell her they were safe, I just did that so I could be around Megan a little longer. I then walked over to her mom so I could introduce myself.

"Oh thank you. That's so sweet. And you're Jack right?" Megan's mom asks me smiling. Hmmmm... I wonder why she knows about Jack.

"Alex. I'm Alex." I say correcting her.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Well it's nice to meet you Alex." She answers smiling again and winking at Megan. That's strange. Wonder what the wink was for. Is something going on that I don't know about? Whatever.

"Well, I'll see you guys Monday then?" I ask Megan and Kayla.

"Yah." Megan answers. "Bye." I then said my goodbyes. I still really didn't want to leave. Just as I was about to walk out the door, Megan stopped me and gave me a hug. That's what I wanted all along. I sat there and held the hug for as long as I could before it got awkward. I didn't want to let her go. I then left her house and started to head back home. I still wondered what was going on that her mom winked at her. When I got home, my mom told me that Jack, Zack and Rian were told they could sleep over tonight. Today was definitely a good day for me. We spent the entire night chatting about nothing important, practicing for the band, and playing video games. Later that night when not much noise could be made, a conversation came up.

"So, how did things go with dropping them off?" Jack asks me. I then thought back to Megan hugging me. I wished I could go back and just hug her again and never let go.

"Well, nothing major happened, but Megan hugged me." I tell them. They all got somewhat interested in what I was saying. They all had expected it, as they had gotten a hug from her too.

"Was there something special about it or was it just a normal hug?" Zack asks. This is what I meant earlier about how he's shy around newcomers. There's no newcomers so he's no longer feeling shy.

"Well, she gave me this really huge hug and like it was almost like she didn't want to let go. As you guys know, I have feelings for her so I didn't want to let go either, but we had to before it got awkward you know? It almost seemed like she even wanted me to stick around. Like, she didn't want me to leave." I explain to them. I was starting to get this feeling that she liked me, but I didn't want to assume.

"Well, if I knew any better, I'd say she might like you. I saw how she was around you, and for her to be so quiet all this time and then suddenly open up to you, it only makes sense." Rian tells me. Well that's definitely reassuring. I really hoped he was right. We all went to sleep and woke up early the next day. We decided we wanted to hang out with Kayla and Megan again so I texted Megan in hopes that she would reply soon after.

(Hey, good morning Megan :) The boys and I are going to hang again today. You guys in?) I really hoped she would hang with us. I wanted to confess my feelings for her, and I didn't get to the night before. I was going to find a way to do it today. I have been waiting for this day for too long. After enough time, I got a text back and it was from Megan.

(Yes, we're in. We'll be waiting. You should come get us haha Let us get ready though. See you in a bit.) I then told her we'd be there soon. Jack, Zack, Rian and I all got ready for the day. An hour later, we were at Megan's house picking them both up. I knew she didn't seriously expect me to pick her up, but I felt like being generous hoping maybe she would be happy to see me pick her up. We all walked out to my car and they got in the back with Zack and Rian while Jack was in the passenger seat.
