Lullabies

"Hey Mr. and Mrs. Gaskarth." Jack says friendly. He always has greeted my parents since the day they met. He's very friendly to everyone.

"Hey guys." My mom answers smiling. I then noticed her get a confused look on her face when she noticed Kayla and Megan. Before she could make this awkward I decided to introduce them to her.

"Mom, this is Megan and Kayla. We all befriended today in class. Guys, this is my parents." I say. I figured that my mother would instantly welcome them, as she is a very welcoming person.

"Nice to meet you guys." She says walking up to Kayla and Megan hugging them. "You're always welcome here." Little does she know they are going to be coming around here a lot from now on. I could see that Megan felt awkward by my mom's hug.

"You guys too." Megan answers awkwardly. I decided to show them my room, because I figured we would be in there quite a bit since that's pretty much where everything was that was interesting. We started playing video games and I noticed that Kayla and Megan were actually into the games. They're gamers. I have a feeling I'm going to like having them in our clique. "So what was that about?" Megan asks me. She just spoke to me. I never thought I would see this coming. Course I had no idea what she was talking about but still.

"What was what about?" I ask looking at her. I noticed that she started to get red in the face and smiled, but only for a couple seconds.

"Your mom. She hugged us." She answers seriously. It seemed like the idea of my mom hugging her really bothered her.

"Yah, she's very friendly and welcoming. Don't mind that." I answer. Hopefully that helps. She seemed to be ok with that.

"Um...Ok." She says quietly. We continued to hang out, play video games, talk, and we showed them a few songs that our band has made. I could tell that they liked the songs, and I was curious what their favorite songs were. Next thing I know, it's 5:30, but I didn't say anything because I wanted Megan to notice which unfortunately she did. "Um, you guys should probably take us home. We've got to be home in half an hour and we haven't even left the house yet." Damn, I really didn't want her to go

"Oh right. Damn I wish you guys could stay longer. I think that was one of the funnest times we've had in a while. Jack, Zack and Rian are going to be here a while longer, so I'll just take you guys home and they can stay here while I do." I answer. I wanted to see if I could possibly get Megan alone some time tonight so I could confess my feelings for her. "You guys will be fine without me right?" I knew they would be, but I said that so I didn't look like I was ditching them. They then gave me this look like I didn't need to ask. "Right. Come on let's go."

"Wait." Megan says loudly stopping me from leaving. She walks over to Jack, Zack and Rian and gave each of them a hug. I had a sense of jealousy. I want a hug. At least she was getting better about us. "Sorry if that was awkward. I just like hugs." She laughs. But, I want one.

"Oh, it's whatever." Jack responds. Kayla, Megan and I left. Next thing I knew, we were already at Megan's house. I pulled up into her driveway and stopped the car. Kayla and Megan got out of the car and started to walk towards her house, and I got an idea to prolong me leaving her sight.
