Lullabies

We were back in the room getting the ultrasound done. Megan and I both just watched the screen watching the little baby move around. I was a little happy to see it, but at the same time I didn't understand the huge significance though I was happy to be seeing my baby, it kind of felt right.

"Would you guys like to know the sex?" The nurse then asks us. Unexpectedly, I yell,

"Yes. Please!" I yelled it very excitedly. Where did that come from? Guess I'm more happy for this baby than I thought. I noticed Megan smile and laugh at my reaction. At least I made her happy.

"It's a girl." The nurse answers. Megan and I smiled. I then got this attachment to the baby that I didn't have before. It's going to be a girl. Now I was suddenly excited to have this baby, nothing more.

"I'm going to have a little girl. A beautiful little girl." I say. I saw Megan and the nurse both smile. I knew Megan was happy with how I was being. I thought about how I was currently behaving, then remembered back to when I got upset about finding out about the baby and ask myself how I could've hated the idea of something like this. We got home, Megan got cleaned up and we continued to hang out since we still had some time, just me and her. Megan was allowed to hang out as late as she wanted to whenever she wanted to, especially with me because of the baby. I was so excited that I just had to tell everyone about it.

"Maybe we should tell the others?" I ask her. I really wanted to tell them we were having a girl. I almost felt like it would be impossible to not say something right away.

"Um, well I can tell Kayla later. You can tell the other boys later if you want." She answers. Was she even excited to tell them? "Maybe we should invite them over just to hang. It's still not too late." Good plan. I'm sure we'll end up telling them all at once. I couldn't wait to see how they acted about it. Though, I don't know if the other guys will be as excited as Kayla will. So, I might just have to act cool about it.

"Yah, do it." I respond. She then pulls out her phone and texts them asking if they would like to come by and hang. They all came together to hang out, since they were still hanging out from earlier. We all were sitting there and chatting and Megan and I were a little hesitant to tell them about our baby girl. It wasn't for long though.

"Didn't you guys find out what you guys were having?" Kayla asks looking right at Megan. Everyone was looking at her. Not the both of us, just her. She seemed like she was nervous from them all looking at her, so to save her from it, I answered the question.

"Yes, we're having a girl." I say in a normal tone, hiding a smile. This was my way of being 'cool' around the guys. I would eventually be myself about it around them. They all acted interested, especially Kayla.
