Lullabies

"Awww, yay!" Kayla squeals in excitement. "I'm so excited!" Megan laughed and smiled which made me happy. I totally expected Kayla to act like this. The other guys were definitely happy for us, but weren't acting excited which was to be expected as they are guys. It's not nearly as exciting for us. I knew though that were excited to see her as well. The next couple months passed by and it was now September and we were heading back to school for Senior year. Megan was now almost 7 months pregnant, and now everyone at school knew for sure that she was pregnant. It got to where she was no longer able to hide it, even if she wanted to. She still had 2 months to go and already her and I were shocked by how big she was. We had people that talked shit about our situation knowing that it upset Megan and I always was there to tell her just to ignore them because this pregnancy is supposed to be a good thing. One day between classes, Megan and I were walking through the halls from one class to another, hands locked together. She got weird looks from being pregnant, and I got angry looks from girls because I with Megan, but we just ignored it. I occasionally swung in and kissed her cheek. You know those stereotypical couples you see in high school? That was us. We had just about every class together, and loved it. We were just minding our business walking through the halls, when an unfamiliar girl walking by says,

"God can't believe that ugly slut. Stealing my man. I hope that the baby ends up a still born so Alex can leave her to be with me. She deserves to wallow in despair since she obviously thinks doing this in high school is ok." I could not believe the girl actually said this. I didn't have any idea who she was, and I was her man? I looked over at Megan with an angry look on my face, and as soon as I saw that Megan was on the verge of tears I got extremely upset. I was not about to let some random girl upset the love of my life. I was not going to tolerate it. Especially since I didn't know her.

"You really think bitching about my girlfriend is going to get you with me? I don't even know you. How can I be your man when I don't even know you?! My girlfriend is not ugly and she is definitely not a slut! A bitch like you will never have me!" I blew up on her. Sure I made a scene, but I had to. This girl was not going to get away with what she pulled. She didn't seem happy by what I said, but I didn't care. Megan stared off awkwardly doing everything she could not to make contact with her. "Come on babe, let's go." I locked my hand with hers and we continued on. I could tell it still upset her so I did what I could to keep her happy. We walked on to our next class. Luckily, we were in our last class of the day, being 6th period Sociology. I saw in Megan's eyes that what that girl said was still upsetting her, but I wasn't going to bring it up. I wanted her to get over it as soon as possible and be happy. We were doing partner work and Megan and I were obviously partners. Jack, Zack, Rian and Kayla had this class too, so it worked out where we all had partners, and all worked together. We were doing our work and I noticed that Megan was barely talking or laughing like the usual. She wasn't herself. I had my arm around her that way she could feel somewhat better.

"What's going on Megan?" Jack asks her. "You don't look happy." It was really nice to see Jack trying to be there for her. I looked at her expecting an answer, but at the same time I was hoping she wouldn't say anything about it, because I knew it'd make her upset.

"I'm fine Jack, but thanks for asking." She answers very subtly. That worked for me, though at the same time I just wanted her to tell them. It was quiet for a minute while we continued to work.

"No you're not." Zack says out of nowhere.
