Day 30 - The Day I Met Her
Olivia
The last month has definitely been a crazy one for me. I quit my job at the gentleman’s club and have been spending a lot more time focusing on graduating early. I have also been talking to Zack pretty much all day every day. He is such a sweetheart and I have unfortunately been unable to see him since he is freaking on tour, sadness. That will change when I go to the hometown show today. I have never been to a festival so this could be interesting. Daniel is dragging me along of course so not like I really have a choice anyway.
“Olivia! Hurry up, we’re going to be late!”
“I’m coming bro! Calm yourself, I had to do my makeup!” I reply running out the door to catch him.
The venue is about an hour away from our house so it was an early morning for us. We wanted to get there early so that we could go hang out with the guys for a bit.
O: Hey, we’re on our way Zachary! I hope you are ready to see Daniel’s pretty face (and awkward me in the background). See you in about an hour.
The drive consisted of a lot of rocking out to bands on the tour; most of whom I have no idea who they are. I was just anxious to see Zack again. I don’t know if it is that I have feelings for him or we just connected so much that he is now my best friend. Whatever it is I need to find out soon for my own sanity. Once we got the venue I think my anxiousness boiled over since I knew I would be inside soon. Parking, of course, is a nightmare to get through.
“Text Zack and tell him we are here,” Daniel looks over at me as when we finally get into a parking spot.
O: Hey we’re here! Where should we meet you guys?
Z: Meet me by the Hurley tent in 10 minutes :)
“He says to meet him at the Hurley tent in 10 minutes,” I tell him when Zack replies.
We begin the trek into the venue and my palms begin to sweat. Right when we make into the crowded venue I see him and I begin to get excited.
“Yo, Merrick!” Daniel yells and Zack turns around with a huge smile.
We make our way over and that is when I see her on his arm and my stomach drops to the floor.
“Hey guys, welcome to Warped Tour,” he says with a smile, “this is my girlfriend, Hannah. Hannah these are my friends Daniel and Olivia.”
I almost want to run away right when he says girlfriend. But I am able to mumble out a “nice to meet you” instead.
Zack then leads us back to their van area and i begin to search for alcohol somewhere in this place hoping it’ll help me cope with the news I just heard. I wonder for about a half an hour before I see a band partying by their bus and I wander my way over to the area they are in.
“Mind if I join you?” I ask as I walk up to them.
“No come on in,” one of the bandmates, acting super sleazy I might add, says to me. “Would you like a drink?” He asks.
“Sure,” I answer with a sly smile. This was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I stayed with these guys for about an hour until I am buzzed enough to go back to the guys.
After we get back to our area I notice Olivia slip away but I think nothing of it. She looks super cute today. I know I should not look at her like that since I have Hannah but if I were to cheat on my girlfriend with anyone it would be Olivia.
An hour later I notice Olivia is not back yet and we are going on stage any minute. I begin to panic.
“Daniel, have you seen your sister?” I ask while looking around.
“No, I thought she went to the bathroom,” he replies.
“Yeah, an hour ago. She hasn’t come back.”
“Fuck!” is all he can answer. Then I see a small blonde girl stumbling toward us. As she gets closer I notice it is Olivia.
“Daniel, there she is!” I say as I walk briskly toward her. “Olivia, are you okay?”
“IIII’m fine Zachharyyy...” she replies
“Are you drunk?” Daniel asks.
“Psh, no,” she answers. She’s lying of course because we were basically holding her up.
“Dude, I’m going to take her for a walk, come and get us if we are not back 5 minutes before our set,” I say to Daniel and Rian carrying Olivia toward the bus area.
“What is going on with you Olivia,” I ask once we get to a deserted area.
“Nothing,” she answers with tears in her eyes.
“Tell me friend,” I give her my favorite smile.
“You have a girlfriend,” she says tears rolling down her face.
“So?”
“So? Really Zack? How obvious do I need to be?” she says as she gets up and begins to walk off.
“Olivia wait!” but I was too late and she was out of sight fairly quickly.
