Boys don’t cry.

Alex’s POV

“Will you just sit down, you make my feet hurt just by watching you.” My boyfriend, Jack said and I looked at him.
“I can’t, I’m so nervous about my results.” I said as I sat on the sofa and Jack put his arm round my shoulders.
“You studied really hard and I’m sure you’ll get the results you worked so hard for.” Jack said as he kissed the side of my head.
“Can’t help but think I’ve fucked it all up and I won’t be able to go to college and then move to America with you.” I said and Jack chuckled and rested his hand on my leg which I had over his legs.
Jack was a 2 years older than me and his family moved to England when his dads job wanted him over in England for a year and they stayed for the year before Jack’s family went back to America and Jack stayed here and then 4 months after Jack fully moving into my house and a lot of flirting we got together and neither of us looked back.

“You boys seen Luna?” Dad asked as he walked in the sitting room.
“Nope.” Jack said as he shook his head and dad looked at me.
“I’m busy worrying to even care about Luna right now.” I said and dad rolled his eyes at me and walked off shouting Luna name.
“You are so mean.” Jack said and I shrugged my shoulders.
“She knows I love her really.” I said and Jack chuckled.
I sighed and we stayed in a comfortable silence until it was ruined by Luna coming downstairs.
“I swear to fucking god Alex if you use my stuff at least put it back and not make it look so obvious that you used it.” Luna said dramatically as she walked in the sitting room and stood in front of me with her hands on her hips.
“No need to act like a drama queen about it.” I said.
“It was my stuff, you ask to use my stuff.” Luna said loudly.
“And yet you don’t ask to use my stuff and you always walk into my room at it’s always at the wrong time and you never hear me complain.” I said.
“Can you two not argue for one day?” Dad said as he walked in the sitting room.
“The joys of having a sibling I have 2 and we always argued.” Jack said.
“That’s because there’s like a year between you, George and Izzy.” I said and looked at Jack.
“So, doesn’t mean we didn’t argue.” Jack said.
“Don’t you fucking start.” I said and poked Jack’s side which made him chuckle.
“Right You two going to be okay while I take her to school and I go to work.” Dad said and I nodded.
“We’ll be fine.” I said and dad nodded and ushered Luna out the room and me and Jack waited until the car had left the driveway and I jumped on Jack and kissed him hard.
“Get your ass upstairs right now.” Jack said and I smiled and got off Jack who slapped my ass which made me giggle and we went upstairs.

I was just putting some clothes on when the doorbell went.
“You think that’s your results?” Jack asked as he sat up and pulled some pants on.
“I hope so.” I said and I went downstairs and opened the door and saw a blast from the past standing at my front door with a buggy beside her.
“Hey Alex, long time no see.” My ex, Lucy, said and I just looked at her shocked that she’s here.
“Um, Hey?” I said unsure and I heard Jack come down the stairs.
“So babe what was your results?” Jack said as he stood behind me and looked at Lucy confused.
“No it’s not my results. This is my ex Lucy.” I said and looked at Jack.
“Before you say anything and land me in the shit the answer to your unspoken question is yes it’s that Lucy.” I said and Jack just nodded.
“So why are you here?” I asked and Lucy looked at the buggy.
“Can I come inside?” Lucy asked and I nodded and stepped back and Lucy stepped inside and looked at me.
“The sitting room, it’s in the same place right?” Lucy said and I nodded and she headed towards the sitting room pushing the buggy and Jack walked over to me.
“So That’s Lucy.” Jack said quietly.
“Yes, that’s my ex. Can we talk about this later, you know when we don’t have people who can hear.” I said and looked at Jack.
“Okay.” Jack said quietly and kissed the top of my head.
“I’ll let you two talk. I’ll be outside smoking if you need me.” Jack said and I frowned at him.
“It better not be the good stuff, I want some for later.” I said quietly.
“I’ll see what I can do.” Jack said quietly and I kissed him and went to see what Lucy wanted.

I walked in the sitting room and there was literally the smell of shit in the room.
“Oh my god what is that smell?” I said as I gagged and went over to the window and opened it widely.
“He had a shit, he couldn’t sit in it so I changed him. Hope you don’t mind.” Lucy said as she picked the baby up and handed it to me.
“I don’t want it.” I said seriously.
“Either you take him or I drop him, your choice.” Lucy said and I took the baby from her and held it at arms length.
“He’s not a bomb. He likes his cuddles.” Lucy said and she tidy her mess up and went out the room and I held the baby closer to me and it rested it’s head on my shoulder and was cooing to himself.
“Why you even here Lucy?” I asked as she walked in the room.
“So during the whole 9 months we was together we had sex.” Lucy said.
“Yeah, what’s it got to do with anything?” I asked and I handed Lucy back the baby.
“Well I got pregnant.” Lucy breathed out sounding she had been holding her breath.
“You fucking told me you was on the pill.” I said seriously.
“And I was, then I saw you and Mcdreamy together and getting close and I was afraid you was going to leave so I thought if I stopped taking the pill the then I would get pregnant and that would make you want to stay.” Lucy said.
“And What makes you think that by getting pregnant would want me stay with you.” I said and Lucy put the baby on the floor and walked over to me and I stood back.
“I don’t know, you are a total catch and I wanted to keep you as mine.” Lucy said.
“I’m not some fucking dog Lucy! You wanted me then you shouldn’t of cheated on me.” I said and looked at her.
“Alex please. Just try and understand from my point of view.” Lucy said.
“How can I understand from your point of view, you fucked my best friend while you was with me. End of fucking story.” I said loudly.
“Why is it even here?” I asked and pointed to the baby rolling around on the floor.
“It’s not an It, his name is Jayden and he’s your son.” Lucy said and I looked at her.
“You fucking kidding me? Is this your sick way of wanting me to be with you? Guess what Lucy it ain’t going to work.” I said loudly which made the baby jump and start to cry loudly.
“I’m not kidding you, Jayden is 6 months old and it’s been 16 months since we went our separate ways.” Lucy said quietly and she picked the baby up.
“You think its perfectly okay to come back into my life with a baby and drop the fucking bombshell saying he’s mine when he isn’t mine! It has been over 16 months since we last saw each other. I have plans for my life Lucy and I don’t want it to be fucked up by this.” I shouted and waved my hands around the baby.
“But you expect me to drop everything and give up on my dreams!” Lucy snapped.
“It was your fucking idea to have the bloody baby.” I said sarcastically.
“Yes and that fucking back fired didn’t it.” Lucy spat.
“Why the fuck are you in my house with this thing.” I said as I rubbed my eyes.
“I thought you would like to know that Jayden is your son and you two can bond. I want our son to have his dad in his life.” Lucy said and I looked at the baby who was whimpering in Lucy arms after I shouted.
“Hey, can you hold him a second while I go to the toilet a second.” Lucy said and I nodded and she handed me the baby.
Lucy looked at the baby and then back at me and smiled and she walked off.

It had been 10 minutes and Lucy hasn’t returned and that’s when it all hit me that she had left and left me holding the baby, quite literally holding the baby and I looked down to the sleeping baby in my arms.
“The fucking bitch.” I said as I moved and put the baby in the buggy and ran out the sitting room and ran outside.
“Hey babe, what did the dragon want?” Jack said.
“So um, you know I was with the dragon when we first started talking and all that.” I said as I started to pace again.
“Lex just tell me.” Jack said.
“The stupid bitch never told me she was off the pill and so we had sex and now there is a fucking baby in my sitting room what the dragon is claiming to be my fucking baby.” I said and Jack looked at me.
“You know I’m bisexual Jack, please don’t leave me.” I said quietly as I looked down and I heard Jack walk over and him pulling me into a hug.
“I’m not leaving. Let’s go and see this gorgeous baby then.” Jack said and I frowned at him and Jack caught hold of my hand and we went to the sitting room.

We walked into the sitting room and we walked over to the buggy where Jack stood on one side and I stood on the other.
“So this is your son then?” Jack asked as he put his finger in the buggy where the baby caught hold of Jack’s finger.
“Apparently.” I said quietly.
“Does he have a name or is he going to be called something else?” Jack asked and I sighed loudly.
“His name is Jayden.” I said and I looked at Jack.
“The fuck am I going to do Jack. I’ve just fucked up everything in my life.” I said quietly.
“We are going to look after this beautiful baby boy, you haven’t fucked up okay. We are going to do this together.” Jack said softly.
“I’m fucking 17 Jack, I have my life ahead of me, I have plans of what I want to do. How could I of been so stupid.” I said and sat on the sofa.
“Technically I would say it was the dragons fault since she told you she was on the pill. But it takes two to make a baby and now you have to accept the fact this little human is now your responsibility.” Jack said and I sighed and put my head in my hands.
I heard Jack moved and the sofa dipping beside me.
“You are going to be a great dad Lex. I know this is a fucking huge bombshell but I know that with the support from me, your dad and even Luna you can do this. I know you can do this.” Jack said and he kissed the side of my head and I just sighed and just then the baby started to cry.
“I can’t do this Jack, I just can’t do it.” I said quietly.
“Yes you can. You can do this. I have faith in you.” Jack said and the baby carried on crying.
I sighed and stood up and walked over to the buggy and looked at the baby.
I sighed again and picked the baby up and held him close to me as I walked over to Jack and sat on the sofa and the baby seem to of stopped crying and I lead him down on my lap where me and Jack could get a better look at him.

“How am I going to tell dad about him?” I asked quietly as I offered the baby my finger which he took as he looked at me.
“You tell him as it is, it’s not as if you can hide him really.” Jack said and the baby looked at Jack.
“Feels like he staring right into my soul.” Jack said and I chuckled as I stood the baby up on my lap.
“He has your eyes. He also has your hair as well.” Jack said and I smiled slightly.
“She was fucking my best friend as well at the time.” I whispered.
“Well she definitely lives up to the name of being a dragon. Look the way I see it, she might of been fucking your best friend as well as you but she is confident that Jayden is your son and she trusts you too look after little man. That is what you’ve got to do. You look after little man and you raise him right. Just like how your dad did.” Jack said and I looked at the baby who was blowing raspberries and a long string of dribble coming out his mouth.
I pulled the sleeve of my jumper over my hand and wiped his mouth as I sat him down on my lap.
“You’ve got this babe.” Jack whispered and kissed my cheek and he got up and looked through the nappy bag which came with the baby.
