Kissing In Cars.

It’s been a week since Alex left and I’ve been trying to keep myself busy with work and cleaning around the house. Baz and Peyton went to doggie daycare for a few days while I cleaned and finally put together the new book shelf Alex bought three months ago and never assembled. After working my ass off around the house and outside I finally got to shower eat something for dinner and relax to watch a movie.
I sat on the couch scrolling through movies to watch before I went to bed, I decided on the newest Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie which probably wasn’t a good idea consider it was dark and pouring outside. I was waiting around for Alex to call me since the band was the last to go on meaning I was expecting a call by 10:30 or 11 the latest. The movie started up and I made myself some popcorn. I sat there waiting for my popcorn to be done and tried not to itch my face as I had a face mask on. I don’t usually get to pamper myself and lounge around the house but this was a nice quiet night while I got to look like a couch potato. I sat back down on the couch with my popcorn in hand, snuggling into the couch. The movie started to get good as I was trying not to shit my pants with fear. I felt my phone ring next to me with my eyes still on the screen I felt around for my phone frantically and finally my hand found my phone without looking at my screen to see who was calling me, I pressed my phone to my ear.

“Hello?” I answered in a scared and quiet voice trying to hear the movie. As I watched the girl on the screen running from leather face.

“It’s Alex is everything okay?” He said asking me in his worried voice.

“Hey babe everything is fine here how’s the west coast?” I asked still not taking my eyes off the TV screen and stuffing my face with popcorn; I jumped a little as one of the actors in the movie got killed.

“Oh my god that was intense.” I muttered at a gory part, watching leather face chainsaw the guy to death.

“Are you watching a scary movie?”He questioned, Alex knew scary movies weren’t for me when I was home alone; Alex was always forced into watching them with me. Not that he minded I would usually cuddle up to him.

“Yes.” I answered and screamed at a part in the movie “Alex I miss you.” I confessed.

"I miss you Jules, why don’t you turn the movie off and watch something happy like uh…Moana.” He said laughing at me our tradition after a scary movie was watching a Disney movie. I scoffed at him.

"I’m not a baby Alex, I can handle a little blood and guts, and holy shit." I said when the surround sound made me jump and drop my popcorn all over the floor, I paused the movie and turned on the lamp on the table next to the couch.

"Shit I just dropped popcorn everywhere." I hissed as I heard Alex laugh at me as I got off the couch and started putting all the popcorn back in the bowl wishing Peyton and Baz were here to clean it up.

“Now do you think it’s time to turn off the movie?” Alex asked as I huffed knowing he was right considering it was getting late and I had work in the morning.

"Yeah I have to get up early anyways, I love you, hope you sleep good babe" I said walking the popcorn bowl back to the sink.

"I love you too Juliet" Alex said and hung up. I sighed as I leaned back against the counter and all of a sudden the lights went out. The lamp next to couch was out, I walked over to the light switch and tried turning it on and nothing. A huge boom from the thunder and lightning lit up outside as I saw a figure creeping in the front yard. I instantly dropped to the floor crawling over to where we kept the kitchen knives and grabbed the biggest one we owned. I got up and walked around the kitchen island and looked to see if I could see the figure and I tried to make out my surroundings and it was impossible.

Just then I heard the front porch creak I knew whoever was outside was probably assuming no one was home considering the dogs weren’t barking and my car was parked in the garage, of course when I’m home alone this shit would happen. I saw the figure start to jiggle the door knob as I got closer to the door. The door swung open as I tripped over the rug and fell on the floor screaming. I heard a familiar scream as I looked up and saw Liv flashing her flashlight on my face. The lights turned back on and Liv stood in her pajamas and raincoat and rain boots with a huge dufflebag.


"Holy shit Jules!" Liv said closing the door and dropping her bag on the ground I sat on the floor with my hand over my heart as Liv threw herself on the couch.

"Holy fucking shit Liv! What the fuck are you doing here?" I questioned still sitting on the ground, knife still in my hard grasp.

"I thought I'd surprise you and stay with you for a little bit until Alex came home" Liv said "You know, so you wouldn't have to be alone sitting on the floor holding a knife for three months." She laughed stretching her legs out on the couch.

“Nice slippers and what’s on your face?” She asked as I got up and brought the knife back over to the knife holder. I looked down at my hippo slippers and felt my face mask hardening on my face.

“You could of texted me and told me you were coming over.” I said plopping down next to her.

“And miss that show?” She said laughing at me as I kicked her with my big hippo slippers.

“I’m going to bed jerk make yourself comfortable in the guest room.” I said getting up and locking the door and putting the spare key Liv used back in its place and looked over at Liv scrolling through her phone.

“Love you in case I die butthead.” I said walking towards the bedroom as she laughed.

“Love you in case I die.” She yelled back as I closed the bedroom door. I washed my mask off my face and sat on the side of the bed and kicked my slippers off and pulled the covers over me and snuggled up to Alex’s pillows and fell asleep smelling his shampoo scent left on it.
