Alex's POV

I had Wes and Felix sat with me at the hospital to help pass the time since Jasey had to go to work even though she didn't want to leave Jack but I told her he was in safe hands and that I wasn't going anywhere.

"Shut up, that didn't happen." I said as Felix finished telling me what happened on their night out what I missed.
"It happened and he actually got laid as well, I am so jealous." Felix said with a pout as Wes chuckled beside him.
"That's because I'm the better looking twin." Wes said.
"Your identical, your both good looking and even mam and pops get you both confused." I said and they both looked at me.
"Is that the gay side talking?" Felix asked.
"The gay side is always talking." I said and Wes chuckled.
Something beeped and we all looked at our pagers since we all either worked in the hospital or in the police force.
"Looks like it was me, see you later guys." Felix said and stood up and walked off.

"And then there was two." Wes said and put his feet on the bed.
"Just want him to wake up Wes." I said quietly and looked at Jack.
"He'll wake up, what his vitals like?" Wes asked not looking up from his phone.
"There good, so he should be awake. I don't understand why he isn't waking up." I said and frowned thinking.
"He probably needs rest. Remember when you was in hospital after that incident. You have us all heart failure for 2 weeks before you woke up. Maybe this is karma." Wes said and I looked at him.
"Look, his vitals are good, he's healthy. Jack will wake up when he wants to. You just need to stop worrying about loverboy." Wes said and I frowned at Wes and he looked up from his phone.
"What? You haven't left his bedside since he's been here. Your super protective over him and you keep on giving him puppy eyes. You brother have a huge crush on him." Wes said and I looked down.
"He wouldn't like me anyway." I said quietly.
"Now your being fucking stupid. He's different round you compared to how he is around Jase. He likes you, you just need to grow a pair and do something nice for him." Wes said and I smiled.
"But he's 17 and I'm 21. It's illegal for me to date him." I said and Wes scoffed.
"He'll be 18 in a month or so. Anyway you don't have to have sex with him, just give him a whole lot of love. Then when he turns 18 you can fuck his brains out." Wes said and I chuckled.
"Such a chamber with words." I said and Wes smiled.
"I know right, maybe that's why I tend to get laid more than Felix." Wes said and stood up.
"Where you going?" I asked and looked at Wes.
"I have to be down in the A&E department in 10 minutes, I need to change and have a cigarette before I start my 16 hour shift. So I'll see you later." Wes said and walked off.
I sighed and just read this magazine for the 1000th time in 4 days.

I was sat on the bed since the chairs really aren't comfy want so ever.
Jasey was sat with us and we was having laugh when I saw Jacks hand move.
"Lex, did his hand just move or am I really baked?" Jasey asked and I looked at her and she did look high.
"Jesus Jasey Rae. What the fuck have I told you about smoking weed and coming to the hospital." I said seriously.
"I'm sorry okay, jeez I thought I wouldn't be this bad when I got here." Jasey said and I glared at her and I saw Jacks finger lift up and down.
"We'll continue this later." I said and put my full attention on Jack.
"Jack, you going to open your eyes for me?" I said and got off the bed and looked at his vitals from the nurse visit half an hour ago and they pretty much was all up and so it was pretty good that he was waking up now.
I looked up and Jack was just opening his eyes, which made me smile.
"Where the fuck am I? I'm not at home or round Jasey's." Jack mumbled.
"You are at hospital Jack." I said and Jack looked at me.
"Alex?" Jack said quietly his voice raspy from where he hasn't spoken for a few days.
"Yeah it's me. Jasey is here as well but she is currently in no state to talk to you." I said and looked at Jasey who stuck her middle finger up at me.
"Is she okay? She's not in hospital is she?" Jack asked panicked as he sat up.
"Hey, she's okay, she's not in hospital she decided to get high before coming to see you. You need to lie down." I said softly.
"You bitch you never saved me any." Jack said and I looked at him.
"Well you was busy playing dead in here so I had no choice but to smoke it all on my own." Jasey said and I rolled my eyes at the pair of them.
"How do you feel?" I asked Jack.
"My arm hurts, so does my sides. Has mum been to visit?" Jack said and looked at me in hope.
I looked a Jasey.

Jasey stood up and walked over and sat on the bed and held Jacks hand.
"Jack, your mam is the reason why you are in hospital. Alex saw your mam beat you senseless almost. She hasn't been anywhere near the place." Jasey said and looked down and sighed.
"Jack, your mam has kicked you out, she left your stuff in our doorstep saying that she wants nothing to do with you anymore and that you are dead to her just like how your pop is." Jasey said and I was confused.
Jack looked down and pulled his hand out of Jasey's.
"Leave me alone please." Jack said quietly.
"Jack that's not a good idea." Jasey said.
"I said leave me the fuck alone!" Jack shouted and he looked at us hard.
"Jack please." Jasey begged and she sniffed.
"Jase we need to respect Jack's choice right now." I said and put my hand on my shoulder.
"I won't be far away okay." Jasey said and she got up and walked out the room with me following.
I looked behind me and I saw Jack curling up in a ball and he looked like he was about to cry.

I told Jasey to go home, which she did for once, and I stayed behind to keep an eye on Jack and see if he would open up to me.
I walked into Jacks room and he was still on his side.
"Hey you, you up for a visitor?" I asked softly and Jack looked in my direction.
"I guess." Jack sniffed as he sat up.
"I brought you coffee, but it's really hot so I'll leave it on the table for it to cool down for you." I said and Jack smiled.
"Thanks Alex." Jack said quietly and looked down.
"Do you think I was stupid?" Jack asked quietly and picked at the covers.
"Depends, the self harm might of been. Not telling us what your mam was doing to you was definitely stupid. But I can understand why you did it. You had to protect yourself." I said and Jack looked at me.
"I didn't want her to leave me. She all what I had left after my dad got sent to prison. Now I have no one who wants me." Jack said and he started to cry again.
I moved and sat on the bed and pulled Jack to my side as he cried.
"That's not true Jack. Mam and pops said that you can stay with us and I don't even think you have a choice on that one. But we want you Jack, you have been part of our family for 10 years." I said softly and Jack sniffed and looked at me.
"I..I..I can't do that." Jack sniffed and looked down and I made him look at me.
"Yes you can and you are going to. The streets aren't safe for someone like you, I don't mean that because you are blind. You are a strong person Jack and the streets will ruin you and so will being in foster care. You are coming home with me and you are being welcomed into our family for real." I said and kissed his forehead.
Jack sniffed and looked down.
"You don't have to tell me but why is your dad in prison?" I asked.
"He's the reason why I'm blind." Jack whispered and looked completely away from me as I looked at him.
"He destroyed me. After getting out of hospital I promised myself I'm not going to let it get me down and be the stronger person." Jack said quietly.
"Jack I'm so sorry that happened to you." I said quietly and Jack looked at me.
"I don't want pity on what happened to me. He was a bastard and he did awful things to me and mum. He is in the best place where he can rot in hell for the rest of his life." Jack spat and it took me back as I never thought that Jack could ever be like that towards anyone.
"Well you can forget about all of what happened to you and now you can look forward to your future and going to college and living your life." I said and Jack smiled.
Jack yawned and he lead down facing me.
"Do you want me to get off the bed?" I asked and Jack shook his head.
"No, your really warm and you smell nice. It's better than smelling hospital and being cold." Jack said quietly as he settled down.
I smiled as I watched Jack fall asleep.

Felix was doing the rounds which means he's been moved to a different ward.
"Hey guys how is it going?" Felix whispered since everyone was pretty much asleep part from me and now Felix.
"Alright, Jack had a bit of a breakdown when he found out about his mam. But he tried himself out." I said quietly and looked at Jack who was cuddled into my chest.
"You know you are not allowed on the beds." Felix chuckled.
"He doesn't like the smell of the hospital, and he said I smelled nice and I was warm so i am being he heat source." I said and Felix smiled.
"Just look after him, yeah?" Felix said and I smiled and moved some hair away from Jacks face.
"I'm planning too." I yawned and Felix chuckled.
"Go to sleep because you look like shit." Felix said.
"So do you." I said quietly.

"I have 3 more hours and then my 16 hour shift is over and I can go home and crash. So I'll see you later Alex." Felix said and walked off and I just fell asleep.
