Dark affairs

We arrive at the restaurant and look for a big enough booth for all of us.

I sit down and Alex wants to slide in beside me but I'm so mad at him by now that I can hardly control myself to not make a scene in front of everybody.

So I keep my voice down but gruffly bark at him."Fuck off Gaskarth, sit somewhere else, this is Jack's seat."

He physically jumps back in surprise and quickly looks around if someone has noticed but then shuffles off without saying a word.
He goes round the table and sits down across from me and next to Linda.

She looks up at him smiling when she notices and my blood is boiling at the sight of them.

I beckon Jack to sit beside me and we start a conversation and laugh and joke while looking at the same menu deciding what to order.

Alex watches us with a stoney expression not really listening to Linda talking to him the whole time. I ignore him completely.

The waiter comes over and we all order our food and drinks and Jack and I decide to share some plates. I can still feel Alex eyes burning holes into my head but I deliberately look anywhere but at him and I cuddle even closer to Jack who places little kisses to my face in response.

"Michelle, can I talk to you outside for a second?" I suddenly hear Alex's snide voice.

I look at him and he stares back at me angrily. Okay, so he wants a confrontation now, well he can have it!

I nod and get up, Jack shoots me a worried glance but I shake my head slightly to let him know it's okay.

I walk out of the restaurant and onto the parking lot not bothering to wait for Alex. When I turn around he comes storming after me angrily.

We face each other with about 3 feet distance between us as if we're in a duel and Alex whisper yells at me, careful to not catch the attention of the people walking by.

"Mickey, what the fuck is wrong with you! Last night was so amazing and I thought you felt that too. But then you simply decide it was nothing and kick me away like a stray dog." His voice changes from angry to hurt by the end of it and he stops talking and drops his gaze to the ground.

I don't buy his act though and just snort sarcastically. "Huh, good one, Alex! Yes, last night was awesome and yes, I thought you felt that too but then you decide it's time to look for a new girl because you got what you wanted from me."

I cross my arms and puff out air and notice our whole table is watching us through the big windows, probably wondering what's going on.

"What? " Alex splutters "are you talking about Linda?" He incredulously asks.

"No shit, Sherlock! Unless there are even more girls you fuck around with?" I hiss back.

He looks up and huffs angrily letting his hands fall to his sides in exasperation.
"I was doing this for us." He comes closer and his eyes blaze with fire. "Rian asked me where I was last night and the only one I could come up with was Linda. I was keeping our secret safe!"

I roll my eyes.

"Oh yeah, and to make the story more believable you had to invite her to eat with us. Spare me your lies, Alex, I'm so fed up with it. Have you ever thought about how Jack feels right now?" I can't stop myself now and all my anger is unloading onto him.

I step even closer and harshly whisper. "You had sex with his girlfriend last night and now that it is his turn you show up with another girl. Way to make him feel like shit, Gaskarth."

I want to grab him and shake some sense into this thick scull of his but I ball my hands to fists at my side to control myself.

"God dammit," he yells back. "I did not invite her, she just showed up this morning and asked if she could join....." here he stops and blinks a few times looking at me.

"Wait! Did you just say it's his turn now? Do you mean you're okay with me and him getting together?" He looks shocked and shivers slightly.

I sigh and rub my face exhausted.
"Look he was devastated this morning because apparently Rian, that dickhead, was winding him up about you and I not being on the bus last night, he felt left out and unloved.
I told him you guys could have my hotel room tonight.
Don't get me wrong I'm not happy about it because you're a complete asshole and I hate you right now but it's what Jacky wants and so I go with it." I explain truthfully.

He stares at me for a while and then shakes his head as he snaps back into reality.

"You'd do that for him?" I nod and then he suddenly jumps forward and squeezes me to his chest.

"God, can you get any more perfect?" He whispers in my ear. "I love you Mickey, I never want to hurt you and I won't ever let you down."

I hug him back and we just stay like that for a moment.

Then I push away from him because we need to get back inside.

He grabs my hand as we walk back. "Can I sit beside Jack? I need to talk to him." He asks cautiously.

I groan. "Urgh, If you must! At least you won't be sitting beside Linda any longer." I grumble and he swings our hands and grins. Idiot!

When we arrive back at the table all eyes are on us and the conversation stops. Phil is the first to pipe up. "What was going on with you guys out there?"

I have to think of a lie quickly, "Uh yeah, we had a disagreement about some management stuff." I reply vaguely. "But it's all good now, we hugged it out." Here I look at Jack, silently telling him that that's true.

"Thank god," Phil replies "for a moment it looked like you were gonna punch each other"
The whole table erupts in laughter but I shoot a pointed look towards Alex to let him know I wasn't far from it. He grins and nods and then goes over to Jack to sit down.

Jacks head snaps up and he looks at me to check if that is okay and I smile at him and walk over to sit beside Linda.

She seems confused for a moment but then starts talking to me.

I watch Jack and Alex as they converse with low voices amongst themselves, they seem genuinely happy and I bet they are holding hands under the table.

I look at them and have to admit they are cute together and it feels good to call them my boyfriends, even if no one can know.

I guess the air is cleared now between them. All is good. ;)
