Dark affairs

"Okay guys," Alex straightens up with a sigh. " As much as I would love to stay and celebrate this decision, I have to go, I promised Lisa to spend tonight and tomorrow with her, seeing as tour is coming up and we'll be gone for a while.." he shuffles around looking guilty.

"You don't have to explain yourself for spending time with your wife Alex." I tell him. I still feel uncomfortable with the thought of him cheating.

"Don't worry about us, we'll be fine." I look at Jack and he grins and wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.

I try to hide the smirk and Alex gets up and pecks first me and then Jack on the lips, saying his goodbyes. It's crazy how natural that feels.

When he has left I look at Jack with a cocked brow. "You didn't seem too sad to see him leaving, did you?" I tease him.

He just grins back at me. "Well I spend yesterday and today with him and honestly I'm happy we're alone now because I wanna have some sexy time with you." He makes the stupidest dorky face at me.

I have to giggle at that and move over to sit on his lap. I pinch his cheeks lightly scolding him. "Can you please be serious for once? We can have sexy time after." I lean against him laying my head on his shoulder and he holds me in an embrace while he runs his hands softly up my back.

"How do you feel about this, like honestly just between the two of us, you haven't said anything about that before." I glance up at him from my place and he quickly kisses my head and then looks straight ahead thinking while he keeps on rubbing my back.

"Honestly?" He looks down into my eyes and I nod. "I am kinda excited about it but I'm also nervous. I don't want to think too much into it because I just tell myself if we don't like it we'll just call it off, you know?" He looks at me for approval and I nod again.

I understand where he is coming from, he is the reckless type that just jumps into things and tends to think after, whereas I act more mature and cautious and like to know what I'm getting myself into beforehand.

"Buuuuut." Here he grabs me and stands up carrying me bridal style. "Enough of this adult-talk I rather do some adult-ery with you now." He races to the bedroom while I cling onto him for dear life because I fear that he might trip over his own feet and send us crashing to the floor.

"Help" I shriek "please don't drop me. And it's only called adultery when one of us is married."

"I don't care. I don't really know what that means anyway." He yells and drops me onto the bed like a dead weight. Then he rips off his shirt throwing it behind him and I giggle at his antics.

He slowly crawls on top of me suddenly being very gentle as he kisses my exposed collarbones and up my neck to stop at my lips, then he pulls away and looks at me with sparkling eyes. "I'm so happy to have you, Mickey. Never forget that."

We laze in bed the next morning as it luckily is Saturday and I don't have to work.

We drink tea and eat toast with peanut butter and jelly as this is all I could find in the kitchen. I seriously need to go grocery shopping today. But right now we watch TV, make out, eat and spill bread crumbs everywhere. Perfect. Saturday. Morning.

" God, I could just stay with you like that for ever and never leave for tour." Jack sighs happily letting himself fall back against the pillows licking the jam off his fingers while he pulls me closer with his other arm. I hum in agreement as I snuggle into his side comfortably.

Jacks phone rings on the nightstand and he grabs it and answers the call putting it on speaker and dropping the phone between us.

"Wassss up dude?" He yells and I hear Alex chuckle on the other side.

"Just checking on you guys, where are you?" He asks.

"We're still in bed in this early hours of the day, why?" Its about 11 am mind you.

"Well of course you are." Alex mumbles more to himself sounding annoyed but then he catches himself and brightly asks.

"Look, Liz and I are gonna go out to Malibu for a beach day and I was wondering if you guys wanna join us?"

Jack pulls a face at that and looks at me for a reaction, I shake my head vigorously waving my hand at him mouthing 'no way'. I know I'm a bit over dramatic here but I want to make sure Jack doesn't give in just to please Alex.

So he sighs and his face twists into a pained frown when he tells his friend.
"Yeah dude, that's awfully nice of you but you have to understand that we don't really feel comfortable going on these double dates, with this thing going on between us...." he trails off, obviously running out of things to say and looks at me helplessly shrugging.

I nudge him to go on ".... so maybe not?" It sounds more like a question than a denial.

I facepalm at this.

"Uh, okay, yeah, I guess, I understand, sorry for asking..." comes Alex's reply and it sounds so sad that I push my face into the pillow to groan. This is so awkward.

Jack stays quiet obviously not knowing how to respond. I can't take it any longer and grab the phone not before shooting Jack a glare because he is so not helping the situation here.

"Hey Alex, Mickey here." I stupidly introduce myself and roll my eyes at my own idiocy. "Look, we've already made plans for today but why don't you come over tomorrow for breakfast at my place? I mean only if you have time and you have nothing else...." he cuts me off quickly.

"No, uh, I mean yes, I would love to do this, I bring food and you make the coffee and tea, yeah?" He sounds really excited over a lame breakfast invitation.

"Okay, cool, see you tomorrow then, love you, bye." I end the call and throw the phone back on the bed then drop down beside it rubbing my hands over my face.

"God, why is suddenly everything so awkward with him and us?" I ask Jack peaking between my fingers at him.

"I don't know" Jack shakes his head. "but don't you feel he really sounded desperate to see us? So either he is bored to death when he is with Lisa, or they have been fighting, or he misses us like crazy." He counts on his fingers and looks at me for my opinion.

I think about what he just concluded and I'm confused. "Yeah, but he always stressed how well he and Lisa get along and how much he needs her and all of a sudden he can't spend a whole day alone with her? That doesn't make any sense, Jack."

Jack contemplates my answer for a while staring into the distance and just when I think he comes out with a brilliant analysis, he just shrugs and reaches for the plate to make us another P&J.

"So" he changes the subject. "What do you really wanna do today?" He asks casually.

"I don't care as long as we stay as far away from Malibu as possible." I groan.

Jack looks at me smirking and lets the toast plop back on his plate then he rolls over and on top of me. "I think. That. Can. Be. Arranged" he hums grinning, kissing me between every word.
