Isolated Pleasures

> three <

Addison had always been a very observant person, and it wasn’t some creepy thing she did. She had always been great at observing things around her and picking up on things that others wouldn’t. Most of the time, she doesn’t even realize she’s doing it.

The whole week, Addison took the time to observe Alex. Yes, that actually did sound creepy, but she couldn’t help herself. Alex just fascinated her to the point where she couldn’t keep her eyes off of him. Sure, she hadn’t even spoken a word to him quite yet, let alone give him so much as a smile, but that’s just how Addison was.

She ended up sharing three classes with him; Biology, English 101, and of course, American Government. Ashley and Zack only shared the Government class with them, thankfully. In English they were on separate sides of the room, where she would observe the way he chewed on his pencil everyday. In Biology they sat rat next to each other, and she couldn’t help but watch they way he would doodle what looked like lyrics on the sides of his notebook pages.

Maybe she was a creep.

This was almost the exact same scenario when she had first met Connor. They started as friends at first, ever since he moved into the house across the street when they were ten. It wasn't until freshman year of high school, she started noticing they way her heart beat quickened at the sight of him and how sweaty her palms would get when he held her hand. That was a dead give away when Addison liked a boy, her palms would always get sweaty. Even back then though, Connor was the one that had to make the first move. Addison’s only explanation to that was because Connor realized she was too much of a chicken to make the first move. They were happy, and she had never been so intrigued with a boy in her life.

Someway, somehow, Addison would have her chance to get him back. Not even her fascination with Alex Gaskarth could get in the way.

----

Throwing her iPod on shuffle, Addison scribbled in her usually hidden journal on Friday night. In her journal, Addison poured her thoughts and feelings she had throughout the week. Most of her entrees now just made her depressed though, because she always found herself writing about Connor. It might help you get him off your mind if you actually get off your ass and do something, she thought.

As if reading her mind, Addison’s mom appeared at her door, whispering, “Addy, dear? You have a guest.”

“Thanks, mama.” She said, giving her a soft smile as she walked passed her to the front door.

Through the screen door on her porch, Addison could make out her best friend standing there in a low cut frilly tank top and leggings. Addison opened the screen slowing raising an eyebrow. “Uh..”

“Before you say anything,” Ashley blurted out, “This outfit is not for you, you’re not my type.” She winked.

Addison stared at her friend with a suspicious expression. “Then why are you standing on my front porch looking like that?”

A smirk appeared on Ashley’s face. “We’re going on a date.”

“Um -”

“- a double date.”

Addison frowned. “Nope, not happening.”

Before she could slam the door in her face, Ashley caught it with her arm. “I’m trying to help you, Addy!”

“Showing up at my house out of the blue and trying to force me to go on a double date with someone I don’t know is not helping me, Ash.” Addison crossed her arms.

“I never said you didn’t know who it was.” she shook her finger in front of Addison. “C’mon, dude! Help me out with this!”

Addison glared at her best friend standing before her, who was now pouting. “I said no, and I mean it.” Before Ashley could say another word, Addison slammed the screen door in her face.

“What if I told you that your date was Alex Gaskarth?”

Addison stopped in her tracks, turning to face Ashley. She could see the smugness in her friend's eyes, like she knew she had just reeled her in. This is my own fault for being best friends with a conniving bitch, Addison thought, making her way back to the screen door. She sighed while Ashley just smirked. “You’re lying.”

“Am I though?” Ashley questioned, pulling out her phone, flashing the screen in Addison’s face. She read the message displayed.

Zack: Alex and I are waiting and ready whenever.

Addison glared at her friend again. “So you arranged this without talking to me first?”

“I think what you mean is ‘Thank you, Ashley, you’re awesome!’” Ashley giggled. “So you’ll come? My car is still running.”

Addison looked down at her grey hoodie, leggings, and beat up Birkenstock's. She wasn’t exactly wearing date attire. She had usually dressed however she wanted when she went out with Connor, but this was a new person on a first impressions date. She would look like a slob if she were to go in this.

“Er.. just give me a second.” She mumbled before running back to her room. She looked through piles of clothes she had around her room, but found nothing decent or clean. She would just have to deal with what she was wearing, which wasn’t satisfying but there wasn’t much else to do. She quickly fixed her hair up into a bun and remembered to slide her notebook back under her bed. She told her parents she was going out before running back to where Ashley was still standing outside.

“You good?” Ashley asked, eyeing her inquisitively.

“Not really..” she muttered as she was dragged off the porch.

Good to know, thanks for clarifying. I'll just stick with reading this one then. :)
Excited to see what all you have in store.

@Nanook
Hi!
Yes, this is a rewrite of the previous story i have in my stories. It is absolutely NOT necessary for you to read the other story prior to reading this one. I didn't take the other down immediately in the case that other people who read that haven't quite yet seen that I have stopped writing that one.
So, yeah. haha. You don't have to read the other story in order to read this one. Nothing from that story is relevant in this one nor does it have any connection. This is a different dipiction of the other story and of course, an AU. I hope I answered your question! And I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! :)

Hello,
So I just stumbled across this and decided to start reading. Upon going to your profile and seeing the other story link, and seeing the comments already on this one, this is a rewrite? And then I realized I actually had your other story bookmarked to read, lol.
So I haven't read that one... is it necessary to read before continuing with this one? Or would you recommend I just stick with this rewrite? Just kind of wondering why it's still up if this is a rewrite, haha.
But yeah, I really like what you have going of this so far, you're a really great writer. :) I can't wait to see what all you have in store for this. :)
