Empty Bottles, Heavy Hearts

Kiss Me Again

When I was finished getting dressed, I walked outside to see Jack leaning against his car.

"Hey," I called out to him.

"Hey, Leikin," he replied leaning off the car to walk over to me. We walked across the street to the park. When we got there, I walked over to the swings and Jack followed me. I was about to swing myself, but then Jack pushed the swing for me.

"How has break been so far?" He asked.

"Good, I guess. Nick and I made up, so I guess no more fighting for us."

"Oh, that's good, I was hoping that you guys would make up soon," he replied pushing the swing again.

"I don't understand why we were fighting in the first place, it was so stupid."

"Yeah, it was," Jack said as he stopped pushing me and tried to squeeze into the swing with me.

"You're not gonna fit!" I laughed softly.

"Yes, I will, don't second-guess me, Lei," he replied finally lifting me up so that I could sit on his lap. "See, I can do anything," he stated proudly wrapping his arms around me like he always seemed to do now. God, I loved his scent. I turned sideways so that I could hug him and rest my face in his chest. We just continued to talk, never running out of things to say, just letting everything flow. I suddenly say the sun starting to set.

"Shit, what time is it?" I asked with my face still buried in his chest from earlier. Jack went into his pocket and pulled his phone out.

"6:30" He said simply stuffing his phone back into his pocket. I couldn't believe that we were talking for three hours straight, that was crazy!

"I'm hungry."

"Me, too wanna get pizza?"

"Sure, sounds great!" We got up and walked to the car "I didn't know you that had a license,Jack," I said as we got into the car.

"I don't, I have a permit, I'm just being a rebel today,"He winked as he started the car.

"So, your parents let you drive?"

"As I said, I'm being a rebel,"

"Let's hope you get home before your parents do," I laughed.

"Yeah, I'd be screwed if I didn't," He smiled at me.

When we got to the pizza parlor, Jack ordered a whole pizza pie for us to share. We sat in a booth and finished the pie pretty quickly. After we finished, we sat for a while and continued talking.

" I should take you home, Lei. It's almost eight. My parents are probably home, too. Thanks for jinxing me"

"You're welcome. Any time, Jacky," he smiled at his new nickname. "C'mon, let's go," he held my hand and laced our fingers together and walked me to the car. He drove me home, but I didn't want this night to end. I just wanted to stay with him forever.

"Goodnight, Lei," Jack said as he put the car in park.

"Goodnight, Jack. Thanks for today, it was fun."

"You're welcome," he smirked. I leaned over and kissed his lips softly. He kissed me back almost instantly holding onto me. Our lips moved in sync for a while. Suddenly, he moved his lips to my neck, but he stopped urgently.

"I'm sorry, I just really have to get home. I'll call you," Jack said, nervously.

"Alright, bye, Jack," I said getting out of the car and walking into my house. What the hell was wrong with this boy?

--Jack's POV--

I drove home turning the radio all the way up. I didn't want to turn Lei down, but I didn't want to treat her like all the other girls I've dated- I'm not even sure if we're together, but my point was that I wanted to treat her right and take things slow. I parked the car outside right where it was when my parents left. Hopefully, their car wasn't in the garage. I got to the door and opened it slowly and closed it behind me as quiet as humanly possible and walked inside the house.

"Jack Bassam!" Shit! I turned around to notice that it was only my sister, May.

"Don't do that!" I laughed clutching my chest.

"I'm sorry, I just had to. I love you though," she said patting me shoulder softly. We walked into the living room and sat down.

"So, are mom and dad home?" I asked.

"Nope they called. They won't be home until midnight. You're welcome."

"You're the best, May."

"I'm aware."

"Alright, I'll be in my room," I said getting up.

"Wait, not so fast. Sit. Relax. Tell me about your date," she said pulling me back to sit on the couch. I just knew she would ask.

"It wasn't a date, it was just two friends hanging out," I defended.

"But, you kissed her," she said crossing her arms and smirking.

"Wait, how'd you kn-"

"There's lipgloss all over your mouth," she remarked. I quickly wiped it all off.

"Ok, so maybe I kissed her. So, what?" May just smiled.

"Wow, you really like her, don't you?"

"Yeah, but she deserves way better than me."

"Don't say that! You're awesome! You're kind, yo-"

"Whatever, I'm going to bed, night," I mumbled walking to my room.

"Goodnight," she replied.
