Alex's POV

Here I was, lost in the moment of strumming a few chords on the guitar and humming along.

"Where's Lil?" Jack suddenly shouted from the couch interrupting the peaceful mood.

"Dude don't shout," I began, "you're not even an inch away from me."

Jack laughed hysterically. "When did you become quiet? You've shouted heaps of times."

I shook my head. I opened my mouth to continue but stopped when Jack spoke instead. "So, where's Lil? She's normally your shadow."

"At her mother's," I said, placing my guitar down to pick up my phone from the coffee table. "Why do you want to know?" I continued standing up, hoping he wouldn't pick up the hint of jealousy I was sending out.

Jack bolted up, closed the gap between us, swung his arms tightly around me and departed with a huge smile. "A, how long have we known each other?"

I had no idea where he was going with this.

"Ages..."

He smirked and planted a kiss on my cheek, which I wiped off pretty quickly.

"So you know I don't steal your chicks."

"Oh..."

"Yea A, don't be jealous of me. I really like Lil because she's my best mates girl and she's actually pretty awesome."

I chuckled. "Yea she is."

"I'll say it again. No matter what, I'm not going to steal any of your chicks...never have..." he trailed off to sit back on the couch. "Lil may need to be careful I won't steal you away from her." He winked and laughed.

I narrowed my eyes. He quickly grabbed the sandwich that was on the table, before I could tell him to get a plate he spoke again.

"Oh yes I went there with the Jalex." He smiled to himself before taking a huge bite of his sandwich.

I smiled and shook my head. I felt ridiculous. Jack had never stole any of my girlfriends, why would he now? Proves that my feelings for her are big.

I glanced at my phone as soon as it rang. It was an unknown number.

"Hello..."

"Hello Alex dear."

"Oh hey, Ma'am."

She laughed. "Call me Helen. I'm calling for Lily-"

"Is she ok?" I wondered if I had to sprint out of the door, my hand curled round the cold keys in my pocket.

"She's ok bye something happened...why did she keep this from her own mother?..." I settled down a little with her words. "Oh Alex dear...thank you so much... Don't tell her this but she's really bad at hiding her feelings about you-"

After a second of silence, I had the realisation that I was stood with a phone to my ear for no reason. I took it away to see a message from Lily flash up. I smirked as I read that she grabbed the phone from her mother and hung up seeing it was I, the handsome young lad that has her daughter all loved up. I chuckled putting my phone away after replying to Lily.

Lily's POV

I was just about to let Alex know that he could pick me up. My mum lives two streets away, it only takes 20 minutes to walk back but Alex managed to argue his way out of me walking alone. He said that he loved walking home, really I know that he's mostly being protective over me. When my phone rang.

"We need to talk." I grinned at my best friend, Sophie's stubborn tone. The odd thing is that I heard light footsteps behind me.

"About-"

With a sudden hand on my shoulder, I quickly turned round. I was being greeted by a picture of Alex and I. He was kissing my cheek. That was all I could see before it being replaced by Sophie.

"About this picture...when were you planning on telling me that you met Mr. Freakin' Sexy Gaskarth and-" I watched as her eyes widened and her jaw dropped.

"Yes Lily, when were you?" Alex's voice came from behind me.

Sophie ran over to him. "Oh my god! C-can you sign this?"

She looked around figuring out what the it was, like she would actually pick up a fallen leave if she had to, and then her eyes lit up as she grinned, holding up the obvious choice that had been there all along. "I'm Sophie." You could cut through her excitement with a knife.

"Sure, Sophie." Alex took the picture and smiled when he noticed what it was of. She then slid her hand into her jacket pocket and fished out a pen passing it to him. He signed it and gave the pen and paper back.

"Can I have a photo as well?" He nodded and joined Sophie in taking a selfie with her. "Man this is so amazing." She excitedly ran back. "So, when did you meet this wonderful specimen of a man?"

Alex smirked and ran his hand through his hair.

"Over a month ago."

"Over a month ago..." she repeated. "Is he that handsome young lad, your mum has told me about?" she finished in a quieter tone. I nodded. This was all she needed before she screamed with excitement. "Wow! Lily-"

"She's my girlfriend too."

Sophie's jaw dropped again. "Really!" she mumbled in disbelief.

"Yes." I smiled.

I'd known Sophie for a long time and she knew when I was lying, she said it was obvious. This earned another excited scream and her arms being thrown around me. "Oh my god...how the heck did that happen?"

Before I could reply Alex grabbed my arm and swung me round and shoved his lips on mine. I couldn't see Sophie but I knew she'd be staring at us in shock.

"Guys, I'm right here. Get- no, wait my best friend is dating Mr. Freakin' Sexy Gaskarth...I'm going to go inside to see my other one. Your mother Lily!"

I'm sorry I haven't updated in 3 days. I've had trouble writing the next chapter. I wrote something different but I wasn't sure how it would make Lily sound like. At the moment she's been unhappy with the nightmares, so I changed it and wrote this instead to break out of the nightmares and stuff. Let me know if you like Sophie or not.
