Lost In Neverland
Chapter Thirteen
We were currently a month into this whole half a year, around the world, tour thing. Danny and I have gotten really close, and I’m not sure my Dad really approves of it. My mom keeps a close eye on us as well, and ever since the first day I left without them saying I could, my Dad has been having at least one crew member at each and every door in the venues, to make sure I don’t do it again. My Dad, Mom, and I all had a really long talk when Danny and I arrived back to the venue the first night, and yes, my Dad was so mad. Like, I have never seen him that mad before.
I explained to them that they need to let me be a teenage and explore my surroundings, let me grow up and stop treating me like a baby. Mom was a little iffy on it, but she said as long as I had someone who could watch out for me, I can go wherever I wanted if I was back at a decent time. But on the other hand, of course my Dad did not agree. He said no to everything I said. He said I had to listen to him and stay indoors, and never leave his sight unless another family member was around me at all times. Even Mom and Aunt Kara tried to talk him into letting me live my life. He didn’t have any of it, he said his word was final.
My Dad and I have always been close to each other, but during this tour, and not being able to see eye to eye with each other, I have drifted away from him a lot. I used to tell both my parents everything, but over just a course of a month, I don’t talk to them much. I love my parents with all my heart, but they need to understand my side of things. “Hey short stuff.” I looked up from the sandwich I was eating and saw Danny as he took the seat next to me. I also noticed my Dad about thirty feet away, talking to Uncle Jack, eyeing us.
“Hey Danny. Whatcha got for lunch today?”I asked as I turned my eyes back to him and ignored my Dad.
“A pizza, obviously.” He said as he opened the huge square box in front of him. “You’re more than welcome to have some. I know for sure that stupid little sandwich won’t fill you up.”
“Is that a fat joke?” I asked him.
“Yes. Yes is was.” He answered with a smirk.
“You're such a jerk!” I slapped his arm and we both laughed.
“But seriously, I need to get out of this venue. My parents are suffocating me.”
“I know what you mean. My Dad doesn’t take his eyes off of me and I can’t take it anymore. But, there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to leave. He has crew members at every single door making sure that I don’t.”
“There’s an open window in the girls bathroom. You could totally climb out of it.”
“How would you know there’s an open window in the girls bathroom?”
“Because I may have accidently walked in there when I was looking down at my phone.” I laughed at him as he awkwardly said that. He moved closer to me and whispered in my ear, making sure no one else could hear him, but me. “I’m serious Stella, you could sneak out the window, and I’ll be waiting on the other side for you.” He moved away and I just looked at him in shock.
“Are you for real right now? Do you know how much trouble I would get in if my Mom and Dad found out I left?”
“Here we go again with the whole ‘how much trouble’ thing. You said it yourself. Your parents need to let you grow up sometime. Let’s prove to them that this tour is the right time.”
“I don’t know, Danny.” I said nervously.
“Suit yourself. But I’m taking my pizza, and I’m leaving out the door right now. I’ll stand outside the girls bathroom waiting for a few minutes. If you want to come, wait five minutes and then go to the restroom. See ya later Stella.” He spoke as he left the table and walked straight down the hall and out the door.
I didn’t think I should do this at all. My Dad would actually kill me. The only reason he didn’t kill me the first time, was because Mom, Aunt Kara, and my Uncles calmed him down. But there was also something about Danny that just always made me want to go with him. So with that in thought, I threw away my half of sandwich and made my way to the girls restroom. Locked the door behind me as I entered, and saw the window. I pushed it open all the way, and jumped up to grab the sides, pulling myself up and climbed out. Right outside the window, leaning against the wall, was Danny smoking a cigarette. “Nice of you to join me.” He said, reaching down for my hand to pull me up from the ground. “Let’s go.”
Notes
It's been three months since the last chapter, and that is fully my fault. I had horrid writer's block, and I wasn't in a writing mood. But I'm back! And I won't ever leave for that long again!
