You've got to hold on.
.
Alex's POV
I waited for Jack and he smiled when he saw I was waiting for him.
"Didn't think you was going to show up." He said and put his books in his locker.
"Can always turn around and walk off." I said and turned round and I felt Jack get hold of my arm.
I looked at him and he smiled at me.
"Come on lets take you back to the mad house." He chuckled and I followed him.
"You might have to ignore the questions my siblings will ask you, they aren't used to people staying round since they're under some sort of protection and all that shit." Jack said.
"How come?" I asked.
"I'm not allowed to say. But I can say that its for their own safety from their parents." He said.
"Oh." I said quietly and looked down.
Wished I had someone looking out for me when I needed the help.
"So, you might have to ignore Bandit but she's not that bad, Lily, Jake, Alfie and Alice will defentily ask you loads of questions. Especially Alice as she's only 3 and she loves her questions." Jack said with a smile.
I couldn't help but chuckle a little at this.
"Fancy a quick cigarette before we get to mine? My mum doesn't know I smoke and she doesn't like it especially with some of the backgrounds some of the foster kids we've had." Jack said and I gave him one of mine.
"Thanks." Jack smiled and we went to a park and sat there for a while.
We got to Jacks and my instincts told me to hide behind Jack and stay hidden away from everyone.
"Hey mum I'm home. I picked up someone as well." Jack said.
"Jacky!" A little voice said and came running towards us.
I moved and hid in a corner.
"Alice!" Jack chuckled and picked her up and she looked at me.
"How's that?" She asked and pointed to me.
"That's my friend Alex." Jack said and looked at me.
I hid further in the corner.
"Why is he hiding?" She asked.
"Because he scared." Jack said the looked at me with a concern look on his face.
"Why's he scared?" She asked.
"Enough questions okay, go and annoy Lily and Bandit." Jack said put her down and she went running off somewhere.
"I can't stay here." I said quietly and looked round the house quickly before sinking myself too the floor and hugged my knees.
"Listen to me Lex, you can stay here okay. You are welcomed here." Jack said quietly and sat next to me.
"You don't understand. No one understands." I said quietly with flashbacks going on with the last time I was in a house.
"Help me to understand then." He said quietly.
I shook my head.
"Jack why aren't you doing your homework!?" A woman said as she walked out to the hallway.
I moved more into then corner.
" Oh my dear lord of life, Jack is this the boy you was talking about?" The woman gasped.
"Yes. Mum this is him." Jack said and I felt him look at me.
"The poor boy. He looks half starved, bring him out to the kitchen." She said and walked off somewhere.
"Come on let her at least give you something to eat." Jack said and got up which made me flinch away.
"Look, I might not know what has happened in the past, but I can promise you that no one will hurt you here." He said and offered me his hand.
I took it and he helped me up.
He did something which no one has given me for ages and that was a hug.
It was awkward at first but I returned it.
"Come on let's see what mum has to offer on food." He said and caught hold of my arm and dragged me to the kitchen.
"Jack don't eat all the food!" The woman said and clipped him round the back of the head.
"What? I'm hungry." Jack said with a mouth full of food.
"Maybe your friend is hungry." She said and looked at me and I looked down.
"Eat up Alex, mums food is really good." Jack said and a little boy came out.
"Joyce?" He said and looked at me and hid behind the woman.
"Yes Jake." The woman said.
"Can I have a sandwich like Jack?" He asked and looked at Jack who was still pigging out on the food.
"Yes you can but don't eat loads now as I'll be starting tea soon." The woman said and the boy came over and picked a sandwich up and walked off while looking at me.
"Have something please sweetie. You look like you haven't eaten anything for a while." The woman said.
I looked at the food and picked a sandwich up and slowly ate it.
After a while the woman told Jack to take me upstairs out the way of the little ones so Jack did that.
