We've Got Unfinished Business

I barely could think straight on the taxi ride back to my rental house. Jack's mom just told me that I would never be able to see Jack or Aubrey again and my heart was literally broken. How could I have been so stupid as to sneak into Jack's house and sleep with him?

Lisa was probably worried sick about me because I left in the middle of the night and my phone was dead. I pulled into the drive way hoping to get a moment to think about what to say to Lisa, but her and our friends were outside waiting on me. She was in Samantha's, her maid-of-honor, arms crying.

I sighed and got out of the car and hugged Lisa tightly when she ran into my arms. I felt bad when I felt her shaking and saw more tears falling down her face.

"Where were you??" She asked frantically.

"I had to go take care of something."

"And you couldn't answer you damn cellphone!" She yelled.

"It died. Lisa I'm really sorry." I said sincerely. I felt horrible for making her think the worse had happened.

"No it's okay as long as you're safe everything's okay." She said as she hugged against me again. I couldn't help but think about what Jack's mom told me. I really needed to tell Lisa the truth, before we did anything else.

"Alex dude where were you?" Rian asked.

"I um had to go see someone." I said and he immediately knew what it was.

"Oh." He nodded.

"Yeah." I said awkwardly. "Actually Lisa can we talk... in our room...alone?"

"Yeah of course." She agreed.

She grabbed my hand and held it all the way until we were upstairs in our room. I sat down on the bed and she sat next to me and ran her hands through my messy hair. I sat quietly trying to think of the best way to break her the news.

"...I cheated on you." I finally admitted and she jumped up and stared at me.

"You cheated on me?..." She gasped. It became quiet for a moment. I thought she was going to scream and shout at me but her next words caught me off guard. "Okay. This is okay. We can fix this."

"No Lisa-" I started, but she cut me off.

"Who was it? Was it a fan or someone I know? Tell me!"

"It was Jack." I sighed.

"Jack? Who's Jack?"

"The guy who had the baby." I reminded her.

"You cheated on me with him?! What the hell?! What if you would have gotten him pregnant Alex?? Jesus Christ! Did you even use protection??"

"I did, but it doesn't matter."

"What do you mean it doesn't matter?" She asked.

"We had sex before. And well the baby...she's-"

"Don't! Don't you fucking say it!" She yelled at me.

"She's mine, Lisa. I used to be in a relationship with Jack and I accidentally got him pregnant. Aubrey is my daughter." I told her and she slapped me. I actually felt numb to the hit. Not even physically pain could feel worse compared to the emotional stress I was feeling.

"You lied to me! You let me meet him and that little girl without saying a word!" Angry tears fell from her face as she yelled at me.

"I didn't find out until after we saw them at Starbucks." I explained.

"But you still didn't tell me after that! You just allowed me to stay oblivious to this!"

"Lisa I swear the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you."

"Well you did it anyways. I am hurt, actually I'm fucking heartbroken." She sobbed.

"I'm so sorry!" I told her and she shook her head.

"Tell me right now that you have no feelings for him and we can fix this. I'll learn to live with the fact that you have a kid with someone else and we can still get married." She pleaded. I looked down at my hands unable to tell her that. I couldn't even bring myself to lie and say that I didn't have feelings for Jack.

I felt another slap to my face and she got up and ran out of the room. I could hear Samantha trying to ask her what happened and following her outside.

I felt the second slap a little more and it was killing my cheek. I rubbed it and laid back on my bed thinking to myself. It was probably going to kill me to go back to my family and tell them that the wedding was off. They were going to want to know the reason why and I was going to have to tell them it was because I didn't really love Lisa. I was going to keep the rest a secret until it was absolutely necessary to tell them.

Rian and Zack walked in a few minutes later and laid on the bed with me.

"So I take it that the wedding is off?" Zack asked and I nodded.

"Shit, dude that's rough." Rian said.

"Yeah, but it's for the best." I sighed and they agreed.

"Is it Jack?" Rian asked.

"Yeah. But his mom doesn't want us together. She doesn't even want me around Aubrey anymore."

"You're life sounds like a Lifetime movie." Zack joked and I lightly chuckled. It did seem dramatic.

"I know. I guess we came back here for nothing." I sighed.

"Well we got to visit our families and we took a sweet vacation to Miami. It just sucks that you wasted so much time and money on the set up of it all." Rian said.

"Plus Lisa is probably planning you're death right now." Zack chuckled.

"She can kill me. I'm ready to die." I mumbled depressingly.

"Hey come on don't be like that!" Rian scolded me.

"I'm sorry Ri, but without Jack and Aubrey I might as well be dead."

*Joyce*

"You just let him walk out the door??" May asked frantically. She had just come over to visit Jack and I and I told her Jack took Aubrey and left.

"Yeah I’m pretty sure anything I could have said wouldn’t have stop him. I was kind of hoping that he would just drive around for a few minutes and just come back home."

"Well how long has he been gone?"

"A few hours now."

"Mom I'm really worried about him."

"I’m sure he's with Kellin right about now. Lisa is at work now so Kellin could be hiding him at his house. They’re probably going to beg Lisa not to tell me but she’s going to do it anyways." I said surely.

"Well I'm calling to check on him." She pulled her phone and called Jack. She placed him on speaker phone so I could hear him too.

"I'm not coming back home, May." Jack sighed when he answered.

"No I just want to know where you are. I'm really worried about you and Aubrey." May told him.

"I've only been gone for like a few hours."

"Yeah but I have no idea where you are. If anything happens to you two I wouldn't know where to go." May was on the verge of tears as she talked to him.

Jack waited a while before he spoke again. "Are you with mom?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Okay well all I’m gonna say is that I'm safe. I'm with someone that I know."

"Is it Alex or Kellin?" She asked. I raised an eyebrow at her because I didn't tell her Alex’s name, I just said he had a guy in the house.

"No it's a friend of his. I'm okay May I promise. I just need to stay somewhere and clear my head. I'll be home in a few days."

"You need to come back home tonight." She scolded him.

"No I need some space away from Mom." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Jack, you and Aubrey shouldn’t be out anywhere that isn't home."

"I'm not coming home tonight." He stated.

"Fine stay there, but you better be home by tomorrow." She demanded.

"I don't know. We'll see."

"Mom is still the legal guardian of you and Aubrey. If you're not home by tomorrow, I'm going to make her put out a missing a child report for you two."

"You're just like her." He said and hung up.

"Ugh! He's so annoying!" She yelled and wiped her eyes.

"He's just going through a phase." I told her. "And how did you know Alex's name?" I asked and she sighed.

"Matt is Alex's tour manager and last week I saw Jack with Alex. I literally just found out." She explained and I nodded. "What are we going to do? Should I try calling Alex?" She asked.

"No. If I find out Jack is with him I might literally lose my mind. Like you said, if Jack and Aubrey aren't home by tomorrow afternoon then I'll just put out a missing child report for them."

Jack

"Thanks guys for letting me hide out here." I said.

"It's no problem." Vic assured me.

"Yeah we don't want you and baby Alex to have to sleep in your car." Mike agreed.

"Baby Alex?" I laughed at the name.

"She is starting to look a lot like Alex." Vic chuckled.

Aubrey did take after Alex a little bit more than she did me. All I could think about was Alex whenever I looked at her. To my mom, May, and Kellin she looked more like me which was confusing. She was sitting in her carrier talking a nap. I decided I needed to call Alex to check on him after what my mom said to him.

I picked up my phone and called him. His phone almost sent me to voicemail, but he answered.

"Hey Jack." He sighed.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked.

"I um just told Lisa about us."

"Oh . . . how did that go?"

"Horrible. She slapped me and stormed off."

"I'm so sorry."

"No it's alright. It's my fault anyways for dragging her into this with me. But what about you? Are you okay?" He asked.

"No not really. Aubrey and I kind of ran away from home." I told him.

"Ran away?!?" He exclaimed. "Where are you now?"

"With Vic and Mike." I mumbled.

"Hold on I'm coming to get you."

"Okay." I said and we hung up.

I sat on Vic and Mike's couch with them. I wanted to call Kellin, but it was best if he didn't know where I was for the moment. I didn't want out parents to force my location out of him. Moments later Alex had rang the doorbell and Mike let him in.

"Why did you run away?" Alex questioned me as soon as he saw me.

"I couldn't stand the way my mom talked to you or me." I complained.

"Jack she's your mom. She only wants what's best for you."

"Even if that means I have to stay away from you??"

"I don't think she understands that we're in love with each other. She probably thinks it's just a fling. So to her, keeping you away from me is a good thing." He explained.

"Well it's torture for me!" I huffed.

"I know babe, but you can't just run away whenever you feel like it. She might be worried sick about you."

"I don't care." I said, trying to convince myself that I really didn’t.

"Yes you do. Come on, go home and talk to you mom."

"No Alex please! Can we just go somewhere for tonight. Just me, you, and Aubrey? I just need to clear my mind for the night. Please Lex!" I pleaded.

"Okay. I'll get a hotel for us, but tomorrow you need to go back home and make up with your mom."

"Fine." I sighed.

We told Vic and Mike bye and took Aubrey with us to eat and then find a hotel. I followed behind Alex in my car and he pulled over to a Hilton Hotel. We went inside and he got us a one bedroom suite.

"Lex you didn't have to get a suite. We're only going to be here one night." I chuckled as we went up the elevator.

"I know, but you two deserve nothing less than the best." He said and kissed me on the cheek.

The elevator stopped and we walked down the hall to our room. It looked like a residential hotel with a kitchen and living room when you first walked in. Aubrey was tired of being in her carrier and started fussing so I took her out of it.

"Hi Cutie!" Alex smiled at her and took her away from me.

I watched him play with Aubrey for a few minutes then I went to go make her a bubble bath. I went into the nice bathroom and turned on the warm water. I poured some of Aubrey's soap into the water and bubbles started to form. Seconds later I felt a hand slap down on my butt. I turned around to see Alex smirking at me.

"Are you running us a bubble bath?" Alex asked with Aubrey in his hands.

"No this is for your daughter." I chuckled.

"Oh."

I turned the water off and took her from Alex. I undressed her and placed her in the water. She played with her rubby ducky while I cleaned her.

"She doesn't have a care in the world." Alex chuckled.

"No all she cares about is food, toys, and being changed." I joked.

"I wish my life was that simple."

"It could have been if you didn't fall in love with an underage kid." I chuckled.

"Ha ha very funny." He playfully rolled his eyes.

Aubrey splashed around for a little bit longer before Alex took her out. He went to go dress her while I took a shower.

Alex

"Are you ready for bed Hunny Bunny?" I asked Aubrey once I finished dressing her. She cooed as I walked over to the bed and sat down. She cuddled into my chest and watched me watch TV. I think she was finally used to me. So far she hadn't cried while Jack was in the shower.

Jack came out of the shower some time later and sat next to us. Aubrey quickly reached over for him and he took her away from me. She didn't love me as much as she loves Jack.

"So I was thinking in the shower." Jack stated.

"About?"

"Why do you want me to go talk to my mom so badly? I know it's like the right thing to do, but why do you care so much? She's the reason we can't be together until I turn eighteen." He said.

"Because she's your mom, Jack, and she's trying to make sure I'm not taking advantage of you. Imagine if Aubrey was sixteen and told us that she was dating a twenty-three year old. I would literally break that guys neck because automatically I would think he's using her for one thing. Plus I would be devastated if Aubrey ever ran away from home. So I understand where she's coming from." I explained to him and he nodded understanding. "Your mom and I only want what's best for you and Aubrey, we just have different ideas on what's best for you two."

"I know." He sighed and I kissed him on the forehead.

We got under the cover in the bed and tried to fall asleep. An hour later Jack and Aubrey were sound asleep, but I couldn't really sleep. I was happy to finally be able to express my feelings for Jack, but I still felt guilty about Lisa. I ruined her perfect wedding and probably her life at the moment.

I tried not to think about Lisa anymore while with Jack. Now I could focus on moving on and starting a new life with him. I opened the camera on my phone and took a picture of me lying next to Aubrey and Jack while they slept. I smiled to myself as I saw how cute our small family looked. My smiled quickly faded away when a message from Lisa popped up on my phone. I tapped the message and read it.

To Alex:
Meet me in are room

To Lisa:
I can't right now

The next message came quickly and it made my heart drop into my stomach.

To Alex:
Noq or I'll let everyone on Twitter no that you had a baby with a 16 year old

To Lisa:
Lisa please don't do this!!

To Alex:
Our room now!

The amount of errors in her text let me know that she was probably drunk. I eased out of bed and threw my clothes on. Jack and Aubrey didn't wake the entire time. I went out the door and lightly closed it.

I sped back to our rental house and jumped out of the car. My plan was to do anything and everything to keep Lisa from tweeting anything about Jack or Aubrey. I didn't want anything bad to happen to them. I ran into the practically empty house. Zack and Rian were still out at this time.

I walked up the stairs and went to Lisa and my old bedroom. Lisa was sitting on the bed holding a half empty wine bottle and there was an empty wine bottle next to her. She was surrounded by Kleenex that was covered in her mascara.

"Lisa." I said as I walked in. Her eyes shot up at me and she took a drink out of the bottle.

"I didn't think that threat would actually work." She laughed drunkenly.

"Yes and I just wanted to beg you to please leave Jack and Aubrey out of this. I understand you're mad at me but don't take your anger out on them too." I pleased.

"Why not? Is it's going to ruin their chance at happiness? Because that's what happened to me Alex! So I think it's only fair that they feel the same pain." She said and drank more wine.

"Wait! Wait Lisa! I still love you! I regretted letting you go the second you stepped out of the room. I thought I had to be with Jack because we have a kid together, but I was wrong.” I told her.

“Really?” She asked and sat the bottle down.

“Yeah we can call the wedding back on. I want you and only you." I was willing to do anything to save Jack and Aubrey's reputation, even if that meant having to pretend to still love Lisa.

“I love you too, Alex!” She stumbled over to me and wrapped her arms around me. Then she lifted up on her toes to kiss me and I kissed back half-heartedly. She slowly tried to raise my shirt over my head, but grabbed her hand and stopped her.

"What's wrong?" She asked. I couldn't exactly tell her to stop because I was actually in love with Jack.

"N-nothing." I mumbled and she continued to take my shirt off.

Okay now I remember why every chapter has something dramatic happen in it. I thought that What's My Age Again (the prequel) was too slow and I wanted to make this story better, but I might have over did it a bit lmaoo
