Partners in Crime

Alex's POV

Me and Jack went to this café which was by work.
" Tell me about yourself then?" I asked and looked at Jack as we finished our food.
"You know enough about me." He said.
"Well I want to know more." I said.
Jack sighed.
"No, you tell me something about you." He said and looked at me.
"Okay, I live with my brother since we're both need to keep an eye on each other because we're fucked up like that." I said.
Jack frowned.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked.
"Now, that's for me to know and you not to find out." I said.
Jack was going to say something when my phone went off.
"Speaking of my darling little bro. I have to go. Give me a bell when you hear something from the lab." I said and got up and walk out.

I got home and looked round.
"Jacob?" I asked and went to the fridge and helped myself to something to eat since I was still hungry.
"Lex?" He asked and peered round the fridge at me.
"What's up?" I asked and looked at him.
"I'm in a bit of bother." He said and looked down.
"Jacob what have you done now?" I sighed.
"I need some money." He said.
"If this is about the drugs Jacob I am not going to be happy." I said seriously.
He looked down.
"Jacob!" I said loudly.
"Lex, please." He begged.
I sighed.
"How much do you owe them?" I sighed again.
"A lot." He said and sat next to me on the sofa.
"For fuck sake Jacob. How more times do I have to fucking lecture you about this!" I said.
"Lex, I really need your help." He said.
I looked at him.
"How much Jacob?" I asked.
"Ten thousand dollars plus interest." He said and looked down.
"Ten thousand! Fucking hell Jacob what the fuck have you been taking!?" I said loudly.
"Alex I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to get like this." He said quietly.
"We don't have that money Jacob. I am fucked if I'm doing what I did before to keep us above water." I said.
"I don't expect you to Lex. I know you love you job and I wouldn't want you to give it up for me. I don't know what to do." He said.
I felt my phone go off.
I looked at my phone and saw it was Jack.
I ignored it.
"You are going to pay them back." I said and stood up.
"How?" He asked.
"I dont fucking know. Something has come up from the lab. You need to think of something before I get back." I said.
"You mean if you get home." He said.
I sighed.
"I'll see you later. You better be good." I said and grabbed my coat and went back to work.

I got back and Jack was spinning around in his chair.
"What we got?" I asked and sat on the side.
"Sand. But from where?" He said and looked at me.
"I dunno." I sighed.
Jack looked at me.
"What's up?" He asked.
"Family." I said thinking.
"Spill. I know I've only known you for a day but you can tell me what's on your mind." He said.
I looked at him.
"I need to find ten thousand. How can I do that?" I said and looked at him.
Jack looked at me confused.
"My darling brother has run himself up a debt." I said.
"Have fun working that out." He said.
I looked at the thing on the computer.
"This case is making no fucking sense." I groaned.
Jack hummed in agreement.

Me and Jack have been studying this fucking evidence was was still not getting anywhere with it.
Jack had crashed on the floor.
I was sat in the chair with my feet on the desk.I looked at Jack and he looked really uncomfortable.
I got up and folded a lab coat up and made it into a pillow and put it under his head and used my lab coat as a blanket and went back to the chair and got comfy and tell asleep.
